I just came back from a stay. Host “Curt” is the man. Besides hooking me up for my family’s trip he bailed out my son who had a flight canceled. The hotel was clean with no problems. Was on trip for 21st daughter’s Birthday. She had never played table games. Dealers were great and they were very helpful and informative. Daughter is now a table game fan. I would recommend for any low/mid rolller. I can’t give more praise for the Grand.
Glad you had a good time at DTG. I've always like the physical casino, but just never felt it had enough energy for my liking. However. Its probably an ideal atmosphere for what your purposes were, specifically teaching your daughter the table games.
What table games? When I was there last month on a Sunday early evening, the only table games were black jack and craps. Most disappointing.
Craps, roulette and blackjack early morning. At night had 3 card poker. Not a lot of games but good staff and a lot of fun.
I believe I saw a sign that indicated Monday, but pretty confident no Tuesday or Wednesday. The D, Fremont and Four Queens just a short walk. I hade a good run at El Cortez. Beer flows great at El Cortez.
I'll have to try DG one of these trips. Some complain about the "slow" casino, but that's fine with me.
I walked in there yesterday(Tuesday) afternoon. No tables open and about 15 customers in the place. I don’t see how that is sustainable.
They get the tables up and running on thursdsys. I likes the quiet spirtsbook and there were always tables and seats available to watch the game. Right across the street is Pizza Rock. Some of the best Pizza in Vegas and you take your Pizza back to the sportsbook and eat it while watching your game. Very friendly bartenders and staff.
I remember a few years ago The Grand was running a promotion on their craps game...no vig needed to buy the 4, 10. It was a completely even bet. I lost $600 in about 15 minutes betting on just the 4 and 10 without hitting the numbers once. Some things are not meant to be.
Love DTG. It is clean, staff is friendly, and really enjoy time there. Would like it to be a little more lively at night, but that is a minor thing. I wish that it wasn't off the beaten path, but we do always make sure to spend some time there.
I am pretty sure there is no live craps during the week, only weekends. At least that was the case last week. Has there been a change?
I really like DTG. I can't help but think that their biggest problem is location because the casino is quite nice, the drink service quick, and the employees have always been friendly. It's been two years but I hope that hasn't changed. When going downtown, I usually spend more time there than most casinos. I really hope they find a way to get things rolling so that they stick around for the long haul.
I mean, towers fill casinos and not the other way around. I can only imagine that they built the most recent one because they were succeeding in filling the two that they already had.
