Wife and I are going to try Station for the first time. We've been to Vegas 4 times and were pretty loyal Club One (D, GG, Circa) and MLife players. However, with Circa coming online, GG and the D constantly have $15 tables, which it too rich for my blood and the strip is crazy expensive.

We decided to give Station a try this time. My wife really liked the video we watched on Sunset. I assume that Red Rock and Green Valley are the most expensive. But where are the cheaper table games (preferably craps)? My wife is hoping to get enough slot play to be offered a room with a jetted or soaking tub on our trip next year.

We have a car so we can go anywhere. Heading to LV in August.

Sunset Station or Boulder Station, probably? I'd recommend Sunset Station, but it is going to be $10 tables now. Maybe $5 during the day, during the week.

Edit: Some of the Fiesta locations (owned by Stations) might have cheaper tables than Station locations.

Boulder Station has been open for a while.

Some of the Fiestas are open, I think?

Edit: Maybe no Fiestas are open yet.

You could try Texas Station but there is reason it's called Tweaker Station.

Santa Fe Station might be worth a look. It's on par with Sunset Station.

Yes, that is true. I keep wanting to go to Texas Station, because I love Texas. But it remains closed.

Yes, all of their lower tier casinos are closed. Hopefully they will be sold to someone who wants to cater to us low rollers .

Technically some low tier Station properties are still open, like Wild Wild West and Wildfire, but I don't think they have table games anymore.

Probably not the “cheapest “…but I always enjoy Palace Station and Red Rock.

I don't recall the table game limits - but I was really impressed by Santa Fe Station when I stopped in earlier this year. It had everything I wanted - great selection of slots/VP, good mix of restaurants from quick service to an oyster bar and a steakhouse, bowling, movies, several nice bars/lounges. I doubt I'll ever stay there just because it's way out in the boonies and on the opposite side of Vegas to where I have family living. But, if you don't care about being close to Strip/Downtown/Henderson - I think Santa Fe Station could be a good choice.

I'll give this a shot. I think we are done with the strip. Too many fees, everything is way more expensive than it needs to be, bad payouts (on table games).

I keep saying/wanting to do at least 1 night in a Stations property, but I am hesitant because I really like the nice rooms on the Strip.

Can you take lots of room photos when you do this?

I was at Boulder Stn 2 weeks ago. I wasn't real happy with the place. I would recommend Sunset Stn.

I loved touring the different Station casinos and using the 2 for 1 buffet coupons, that were offered through the LVA. My favorites were the Red Rock and Green Valley Ranch buffets.

And last I heard, there isn't a single Station casino currently operating their buffet--which breaks my glutinous overeating heart.

If anyone has any news on a Station Casino buffet reopening, I'd sure appreciate the information!

They currently have no plans to reopen any buffets.

Palace Station has a new remodel and while I have never stayed there I do like the casino. We usually stay at GVR but have been tempted to try Palace

Sunset Station and Santa Fe Station are (IMO) by far the nicest outside of GVR and Red Rock, both of which I love. Palace Station looks good after the remodel, but I have always found the crowds there to be rough. Lots of people who want to be close to the Strip without paying Strip prices and are really obnoxious. Sunset and Santa Fe draw mostly locals and have a much better vibe in my opinion.

We've stayed at most of the Stations casinos over the last 10 years (RR, GVR, Sunset, Boulder, Santa Fe, Texas) and gamed at all of the station casinos. Currently we prefer Santa Fe Station. When we were in Vegas in May, we spent 1 full afternoon at Santa Fe (while staying at Suncoast). Santa Fe had 2 craps table (both $10) and 1 had STA and 1 had Fire bet side bets. They have lots of VP and also lots of $10 BJ tables (3:2). I can't comment on slots as we don't play them much, but I would guess their slots are as good/varied as any of the other Station casinos. They also have a nice poker room. Regarding craps, Santa Fe has $1 min on the STA bets, but Boulder Station has a $5 min for the STA bets (don't know about the other station casinos). The only negative for Santa Fe is that it is out there by itself, not any other gaming options close by. Our second choice would currently be Sunset Station, but we haven't gamed there recently enough to know the table limits (but they are likely lower than GVR which would be our third choice). The advantage to Sunset Station (or GVR) is that they are closer to other gaming options and the non-casino restaurant choices are an order of magnitude more in that area. If you do chose Santa Fe Station, I would recommend you check out Bob Taylor's Ranch house for dinner. There are some pictures and comments from our dinner when we were there in May in my May trip report. Be advised that it is not a fancy restaurant (probably hasn't been remodeled in 40 years) and it has a gravel parking area, but the dinner was excellent.
