The traveling bar is probably a part Utah thing isn't it? ;)
If you feel like dishing, I'm all ears about other states unique drinking laws...
Heard a long time ago the deal was all airplane size minis..

Thanks for the awesome report! You guys made the absolute most of your time in Vegas. Love the way you are flexible with your meal reservations. The more trips I take there, the more I reserve and cancel when I don’t feel like going. I also earn my status by spending more than gambling. I play the slots a lot, but low roller ($1-$5 a spin) so try to eat and buy on property.
Again, thanks for taking us along!

Mom and I LOVE Mastro's and always eat there our last night in Vegas, celebrating a birthday so we can get our free butter cake. So happy to see these photos, since it will probably be a while before we make the trip.

I was there the same night and had the same exact thoughts! However at that point I was just happy to enjoy my Fat Tuesdays and the Vegas vibe!!

I haven't forgotten about an update! We've just been hanging with family all day. I'll get to it before Vegas part 2!

Here we are with V's sister, her daughters, V's brother, and his brother's girlfriend.

Alrighty, let's get this wrap up done before trip #2 starts! :p

We've enjoyed the past few days in Utah visiting with Vince's family. I'm excited that my sister-in-law J and her daughters Sa and N are joining us on the next leg of our Vegas trip. For those of you who were around during my first Vegas trip report in 2016, it all started with this same cast of characters. I remember thinking nobody would be interested in reading it because it involved kids. LOL.

    Final Thoughts and Wrap Up:
    • Vegas is definitely back! People continue to wear masks here and there, but overall, I would never know a Pandemic basically shut down the world a year ago.
    • We've absolutely been exposed to the Delta COVID Variant somewhere in Sin City. With the crowds out and about, there is no way we didn't pick it up somewhere. I have a strong faith in science and trust the vaccine we got, but there is NO WAY in hell I would be there right now if I wasn't fully vaccinated. The same goes for bringing my kids. I wouldn't be taking them if all of them weren't fully vaccinated.
    • It was HOT, HOT, HOT! I've been several times over the past 20 year to Vegas in July, but this felt hotter than I remember. I never remember getting into a Vegas pool that didn't have some initial shock chill factor to it. The NoMad Pool felt like I was taking a bath.
    • I really like the location of Park MGM/NoMad. I do prefer the NoMad rooms over the Park MGM ones, but I wouldn't hesitate to stay in either again. I also love that it's an entirely non-smoking property including the casino.
    • Eataly is much better than I remember it being. I loved the variety of offerings to be had. I hope moving forward, more things are open there for more extended hours.
    • It sucks that staffing issues continue to keep places closed or on modified hours. I hope this changes sooner rather than later. Even though we noticed more things were open on weekends than during the week, it didn't affect our enjoyment.
    • This trip was not our norm in terms of schedules and things planned. We usually see a show, go to museums, hop off Strip more or go Downtown. This time, we canceled lots of our reservation and just winged it at a leisurely pace. It was really nice not feeling pressured to be anywhere if we didn't want to be. I kind of had done all of the reservations as placeholders, but we had no problem just showing up on a whim to certain places too.
    • The monorail is a fickle thing, but I was surprised how many people were using it. I would use it again despite the problems.
    • I bought a ton of MyVegas rewards I didn't end up using. We may use a few more on our second trip, then I'll request my max of 5 refunds. I had originally been overzealous and bought a BOGO 7 day monorail pass. I turned off my GPS, logged into MyVegas, and was able to purchase a BOGO 1 day pass while in Las Vegas.
    • The world was not all mine, I couldn't fit into my men's Scarface shirt that I ordered. A medium was too tight. Bleh!
    • No handpay still, but I was pleased only losing around $800 for a 7 night trip. I spent an additional $150ish on tips. I believe in total, this trip cost us around $3,500 for gambling, tips, our portion of the room, meals, booze, etc. We never do cheap trips, much as I hate paying the trip bills when we get home.
    • I charged most things to the room and never saw my MLIFE Tier Credits posting. I ended up going to the MLIFE desk several times with receipts. I currently have 84,869 Tier Credits, so we've made Gold for another year. I like Gold for the valet privileges. We get decent basic room offers, but nothing overly amazing. I definitely shortchange MLIFE when it comes to my gambling play. We currently have some comped offers booked for next week, this December, and March 2022. I expect the offers to be cut off or decline dramatically soon.
    • Bavette's was a wonderful experience again. The food and ambience are right up our alley. We will definitely keep it in our rotation. :feedme:
    • Mastro's Ocean Club was better than I expected, and we will add it to our restaurant rotation. :feedme:
    • We worked out three times in the NoMad gym and we're really glad we kept some of our exercise regime despite being on vacation.
    • We walked A LOT! My Fitbit stats from Thursday-Thursday show I walked 143,014 steps or 56.46 miles in a week.
    • We shared almost all meals, and I'm glad we did. I felt so stuffed and cannot eat like I used to in Vegas after a year of cooking at home and eating less. The walking helped a lot though!
    • I didn't feel unsafe, see too many unsavory characters, or smell much weed like much earlier previous trip reports documented. I saw some sad homeless situations, but I see that in Denver too.
    • Somewhere on the second night walk from Resorts World to NoMad, my silver ankle bracelet broke and is laying somewhere on the Strip. Boo!
    • We wayyyyy overpacked and are going to work on streamlining for upcoming trips. I want to update my luggage and start packing earlier which should help.
    • I loved having our home bar available in the hotel room. We've since enjoyed it while in Utah at my in-laws (my father-in-law said we were basically bootlegging according to the state - does this answer your question @AyDee?). We'll then utilize the bar on our 2nd Vegas trip in a few days, and then the leftovers will return home. :drunk:
    • I didn't sunburn at all with my Supergoop! sunscreen. I didn't tan either. I'm still a nice, pasty white.
    • I think I like Resorts World. I'm with V though, I think it would behoove us to try staying there to really get a feel for it.
    • Frankie's Tiki Room is still the bomb. :headbang: My "Liquid Vacation" book from there has given me many a nice tropical cocktail at home.
    • Except for our arrival night, where I did feel we drank too much too quickly and felt a little tipsy and unguarded, we hydrated well the rest of the time and never felt bad despite drinking a lot.
    • Make sure you have a mask if you plan to do Uber or Lyft. We had a guy try to buy a mask off of us as we waited for our ride because he didn't have one and couldn't get in his ride. (*We had no extra on us.)
    • Olive held up for yet another road trip to Vegas. Poor girl had a piece of her underside dragging though when we got to Utah. Some plastic piece that I hope wasn't important, because V ripped it off. :kill:
I think that about sums up my thoughts and feelings. I love doing a week or more in Vegas. Anything less feels too rushed to me. We'll be pushing it doing 4 nights with the girls, but we've done it before with other back-to-back trips and stopovers. We enjoyed Thanksgiving 2019 as a family in Vegas, so we're all glad to be getting back to our normal Vegasing we all love. We're super excited to spend our first Christmas in Vegas this December too!

I appreciate everyone who chose to follow along on this trip. I'm sorry if I missed answering a question or giving a reply. I try to keep up with replies, but the deeper into the trip it gets, the harder it is to keep up. Please reach out if there's something I didn't answer.

Stay tuned for a new report starting up on Monday, 07/19. If you're up for some adventures with a bunch of teens, then this upcoming report will cover that nicely. LOL. Some things planned with the extended bunch:
    • Circus Circus Adventuredome - All these trips to Vegas with the girls, and they've never been to Circus Circus. LOL.
    • Dinner at The Steakhouse at Circus Circus.
    • Bungalow Cabana at Mandalay Bay Pool.
    • High Roller if we can fit it in.
    • Mandalay Bay Shark Reef and Aquarium.
    • Madame Tussauds Wax Museum.
    • Dinner at Sugar Factory.
    • Dinner at Hussong's Cantina.
    • Minus5 ICEBAR at Mandalay Bay Shoppes.
    • Girl shopping,,,with V being dragged along.
    • Another shot by E at a handpay.
We'll see what sticks and what gets canceled. I'm glad to see the temperatures won't be as brutal when we're there.

Here's a final photo from our trip. This was from the day we were getting drinks at the Aria Lobby Bar. A guy and three girls with him sidled up to the bar and the guy ordered each of them a shot of Clase Azul Tequila. I missed which type they got (I think there were three different kinds of those pretty bottles at the bar), but each shot cost $37. Ouch! If I ever order a round of shots that costs that much, they damn well better be in proper glasses and not in that plastic Aria joke of a cup crap.

    Til' Monday, VMB! :peace:

I like how you do Vegas !!! I even use the same bank envelopes and keep track like you do. My husband is also a ham radio operator and showed him V's set up and he was wondering what kind of radio he was using ?

What a great trip report, thanks for all the pics and details. It makes me want to venture out and try new places on our next trip.

This was great. I'm glad to read you were able to wing it some nights since that's what we tend to do in regular times.

This is an epic trip report. You have the gift. I somehow missed it and the fact that we coexisted in Las Vegas until yesterday. Nicely done. Enjoy your family trip.
