To say I'm disappointed would be a fantastic understatement. Not only did the story of shipping the ingredients from overseas add dimension to the selection set of restaurants at the wynncore but it also had an aesthetic/decor that was other-worldly. Costa was one-of-a-kind and I truly loved it from my one time dining there.

Wynncore has undergone so much change as of late; it makes me feel like they're trying too hard to be something they are not. First, we opened the Wynn Shops to give us room for more retail, why do we need to replace an iconic restaurant? Then, they're removing parasol up for a bottle service lounge, when we already have a very tough the making time intrigue/tryst space work.

Personally, I think Wynn wants to eventually rent out the restaurants in the same way that the Cosmo does. My only contention is that we already have 3 restaurants that won't let us use comps so they should fix that as you can use your comps anywhere at the Cosmo

Not until Encore Boston Harbor first beta tests the concept.

I received my reservation cancellation notification today. Huge bummer, I was so looking forward to eating there. Does anyone have suggestions for an alternative that has a tasting menu, and is equally "elegant" so to speak? I already checked Joël Robuchon, and Carbone but they are both booked up on the day we're looking to replace.

On the Strip I’d look at Scarpetta or L’atelier. Off-strip would look at Partage

Sinatra at Encore would definitely be a suitable replacement.

+ I would add Picasso at Bellagio to the list. 2 different tasting menu options and great views. Request a table by the window with fountain view at Scarpetta.

Aren’t there already 3 Gucci stores on the Strip?

Won’t all those windows and natural light during the day be bad for the Gucci bags and other displays?

I was thinking the same thing but my guess is with the serious rent Gucci will be paying to Wynncore for the space that Gucci will also make some serious investment in renovating the space. I would hope and pray that they would keep the outdoor area "as is" and I guess use that for special events (?), but you could deal with the sunlight issue by putting a special film on all of the windows.

Definitely a bummer. We were going to try it during our visit next month. Fortunately, L'Atelier is opening back up so we boooked that instead.

As much as I loved the food there, I also found it somewhat unremarkable as a seafood place (though prices were surprisingly reasonable). I guess I can understand the appeal of putting retail in that space, which is smack in the middle of the restaurant of the shopping area, and there's probably a bit of overlap with Lakeside.

Never thought it was the best location but we enjoyed dining there…..first as Bartolotta and then Costa di Mare.

If you are willing to go off-strip - Sparrow + Wolf or Partage. On strip: in addition to everyone else's recommendations - Michael Mina at Bellagio - looks like they recently reopened.

I'm sad I never made it there to try the langoustines.

I've been there twice and enjoyed my meal both times. The food was delicious and the service was great. I really am sorry that it is closing.

While Costa was solid as hell, I still miss Bartolotta.

One by one, the originals are all gone. Wynn really brought in an impressive collection.

Alex is the one I miss most.
