I wouldnt have guessed either, especially on a Friday night, but apparently it is so. Seems like when I booked my flight last week, first class was almost entirely empty. When I checked in last night and looked at seat assignments, only 5 of the 40 Delta One seats were available.

The woman who checked my bag at Delta though, its adjacent to spirit, and there were hundreds of people in line at their counter...the Delta agent said Spirit, American, and Frontier all had tons of cancellations and people rebooked whatever they could get. She said people were beating down Delta's door trying to get any seat anywhere too.
And now I'm on the tram and there are only 8 people in the tram car. Where the fook are all those people in the TSA line going?!?!?

My chariot in the sky awaits!

    20210709_232210.jpg

And all these impatient people who havent bern called for boarding (because it hasn't started yet) are blocking the gate. Said it before and I'll say it again, this is the stuff that will make it no surprise if people are extinct soon. All seats are reserved and assigned, and you ain't getting on until they call you, f**kers.
Can you tell this is a pet peeve of mine?!?! (And for the record I'm not in this gaggle, just walked through it to fill my water bottle)

Aaand that's it folks! I'm in a plane! Cant wait to get in the air and pass the f(*k out. Slept about 3 hours last night and slotted alllllll day for about 12 hours lol. Hey! It's only an problem if you lose! I think a guy could catch some Zzz's in this seat though. Pretty swanky for a domestic flight.

Got my entertainment on, and they're dimming for departure now. See y'all on the other side. FYI, I ordered liquor. I'd heard recently Delta wasnt doing that. I have an old fashioned on the way to go with my Cary Grant Samantha Eggar movie! P.S. - the headphones that were hanging in the seat kick ass!

Nooooo! BlackBerry is great, but not Basil. Mojitos have mint. It was like... dropping italian cooking in a fruity drink. It doesn't go!

Ah… I’ve been busy working hard over the last few days, than traveling to Tenerife to chill by the pool and enjoy a relaxing week or two. I was browsing VMB and was like, “yes another Ms Crabtree.. I mean MCann trip report”!

Just read up on it all by the pool sipping a drink, great stuff, as always! You never fail to entertain :)

I am soooo hoping borders are open by the end of September (doubtful..).

Ok, yah, to no surprise, leaving my hotel at 930pm, getting through the airport, then having a drink and a snack while a movie played, then sleeping for 2 hours and waking up to sunrise on approach to Atlanta? Yah, that was a huge mind f**k. Little baby plane is here waiting to take me the rest of the way home.

I had no trouble sleeping but the seat in the Delta 764 is hard and thin, and I could feel that on my body when I transitioned the seat to a flat bed. It worked, but I personally put it in 3rd place in my experience after the AA 788 and 789 respectively, both of which are similar but have a little more privacy and LOTs more cushion for sleeping.

It's all good. We flew through a time warp en route and I'm already on my flight home.

Thanks for the TR, @MCann. Always enjoy reading your adventures. Similar to my initial comment pertaining to your penchant for first class (as well as Valentino suits, and Oliver People’s glasses- pardon the esoteric pop culture reference), I noticed you notate, pretty frequently, the types of planes your on. I say this as it sounds identical to my father in law, who was a pilot. My uneducated eye is aware of if a plane is large or small, but the differentiation between wide body aircraft and others, or if a plane was manufactured by Boeing or Airbus, etc is usually the last thing I’m thinking of when boarding (unless its a 737 Max, then I’m nervous.)

I’m assuming you’re one too (no need to answer as it’s not my business), but I’ve never seen someone not a pilot constantly notating the equipment they’re flying on lol.

Hope you’re bringing back some of that money after all the slot action and even if not, it sounds like you had a solid trip notwithstanding!

Was looking while waiting to board my flight last night, and indeed I got about 60,000 points in my 3.5 days at MLife, and got my highest trip coin-in ever, by a somewhat significant percent, so I'll wait and see what the MLife random offer generator has to say about that lol

I checked pretty much all craps tables every place I went every time I noticed. Luxor was $10 every day and some nights, but come thursday night and friday when they were booked to 100% capacity, alllll the table games went to $20, even craps, which is a rare sight. Not $25, not $15, but $20. I saw mostly 15 at the MLife places and some higher where multiple tables were open. One night Mandalay had 3 tables at 15/25/100, but I'm pretty sure the $100 table was a private / reserved thing. It was 100% full then 0% full and had a "closed table" placard on it.
