I was planning a trip the other day for this fall, and I logged in to my MLife account to see what my offers were and the quality of the offers had almost nothing to do with the quality of the resort.

For example, among the choices were:

Aria: 4 nights comped corner suite with $450 F&B

Bellagio: 4 nights comped standard room with $200 F&B (ok, sure... it's a high end property, smaller comp)

Mandalay: 4 nights stay well room compred with $300 F&B

Park: 4 nights standard room comped with $250 F&B (????)

Excalibur: 4 nights standard room comped with $200 F&B (?????????????????????????????)

Anyone else ever see this where they get better comps at higher end resorts?

Can you guess which one I'm staying at?

hah. No complaints! The Aria is gonna be great!

Just... perplexing! I'm wondering what MBA came up with that comp system.

One, I think your thread title says it all.... offers often lack logic

Two, a possible explanation... you may have some truly awesome offers at lower-tier properties if you call. I've seen standard room in my offers online at some properties, but called and the phone rep says they see my offer covers suites. I think there's simply variation between what each property pushes onto the offer website, compared to what other properties hold back for callers.

I have seen a bit of this lately. It might be tied to number of better rooms at some places vs others. For example, I recently got a corner suite at Aria, but all I could get at Bellagio was a regular room.

Makes sense that it could be based on inventory. I'm sure there's an algorithm in there somewhere that's trying to optimize number of rooms filled without giving too much away.

Still, surprised to see Aria being the best, even among the lower-tier properties. But sure... if they're offering, I'm taking!

I think MGM is secretly ranking Excalibur as their top property, so...

I thought the answer is it's not one or the other. It's all of the above.

When I got my teaser I started booking all the resorts as many times as possible until I exhausted everything in the offer. I ended up cancelling most of them and rebooked mostly single nights on holidays and weekends. Why single nights? The $50/$100 resort credit is per stay and is available as long as you can book each resort. For example, let's say I get 9 nights comped max for Bellagio with the offer of $50 resort credit and up to 3 nights. I can do 9 single nights and get $50 each stay. Freeplay is different. They say it's per offer but it really depends on you keeping up your play.

So quit your job and ditch your family and pets and live the M life.

(I should add, your play might not justify future offers if you take my approach. My play is pretty low but at least I'm booked for a year.)

CZR was the same. I went crazy with comp rooms when they offered them as my teaser. They have some formula (probably based on dollar amount played) but you can book multiple resorts and locations (Reno, Laughlin, Tahoe, Vegas, etc.). Eventually I maxed out in Vegas but it was surprising to me how many stays I got out of it.

Our Mlife offers are always the same FP everywhere and one set higher F&B at all "lower tier" properties and one lower F&B at the "higher tier".

Maybe you spent or played more at Aria?
    Maybe they are experimenting.

The last couple of times I play/stayed with MGM was at the Park/Nomad. Didn’t play at the aria once.

and in this round of offers just the standard room at Park and nothing at Nomad.

I noticed Nomad has been sold out most weekends. Popular I guess. Try off days like M-W and you might see availability.

They read all the VMB complaints about Resorts World not having a theme.

They’re renovating room at Aria. You’ll get extra F&B, but they expect you to help with the renovations!

The Aria offer you got is defintely an outlier compared to the normal pattern based on MGM's pecking order.

There aren't many rooms to begin with. Add Bruno Mars at the Park MGM Theater and whatever is happening at the arena. They're either really sold out or reserved.

Well, there kind of are. It has 3000 rooms, which puts it in the middle of the Strip, room-wise (and approximately the same size as Cosmo and Mirage). I know it wasn't sold out Memorial Day weekend (but it was busy). Not sure about others, though.

Nomad LV only has 293 rooms (https://nomadlasvegas.mgmresorts.com/en/hotel.html)

All of Park MGM definitely has a lot of rooms. I have to wonder if MGM might consider expanding Nomad to another floor or two.
Might be an issue with checkin and the pool size though.
I wish Park MGM had more room types.

Good point. obviously, I am talking about the resort as a whole, not the top few floors.

That's an interesting thought about expanding and the amenities. I haven't been to the Nomad pool deck yet, but the view of it I see from Aria doesn't look that large. Then again, the property as a whole is marketing toward a younger crowd, so maybe a packed pool deck isn't a problem for them
