On my next trip, I am arriving downtown about midnight. I am going to play vp in the wee hours, but don't want to have a short gaming day. Does anyone know when a new gaming day starts (midnight, 2:00 a.m., 3:00 a.m., 6:00 a.m., etc.) for the following casinos:
    Four Queens
    Binions
    The D
    Golden Gate
    Circa
    Plaza
    Boyd casinos
    Thanks!

Thanks...Boyd was lowest on the list for a reason (I am Ruby so no points anyway). I am most interested in the D/GG, 4Q/Binions.

Binion's player club rep said 2 am when I asked. I assume 4Q is the same.

Thanks; if you are sure about the D I'll probably start there at 2:01 a.m. Anyone know how late the Vue bar serves? If I swipe my slot card for food credits at Coney (or Binions Deli or Magnolias) at 1:00 a.m. am I incurring a gaming day?

My oversimplification of "gaming day": casinos base their offers on how much you average gamble in 24 hour periods. If I gambled $100 before 2:00 a.m. and $3900 after, it is $4000/ 2 days. If I wait till after 2:00 a.m., it is $3900/ 1 day. Of course, I have to stop before 2:00 a.m. the next night.

Boyd was 3am the only time I noticed a gaming day flip. Only comped stay I ever had there (Gold Coast). Otherwise I'm not gambling at those casinos that late.

I assumed Vue Bar was 24 hours, but i could be wrong. Most TRs I read from the Vue Bar don't have quads hit at 4am unlike my TRs...

Good news about 4Q/B also being 2:00 a.m. Another option. I want to hit their free play promotion. It sounds like most downtown casinos (if not Boyd) are 2:00 a.m. to 1:59 a.m. Easier to remember.

imho, it tells you when it would be a good idea to stop,
if you aren’t going to play there the next day (esp if leaving at the crack, or going to another property all day ).
That’s if you believe ADT is ranked pretty high, which I believe, because of @JulianC.

degens just going to degen, I stay on the card, why be a pessimist about how long you’ll run.

because of that I stoped caring, I swear I remember a 6am, they probably getting changed, and prob for the worse for the likes of me.

I agree the cutoff time also tells you when to stop. Now that I know it is 2:00 a.m., I see my mistake on my trip before the shutdown: I played for hours and hours till 2:30 a.m. at 4Q, then didn't play there again that day because of their (ransom ware?) computer problems. The extra half hour spread my play over 2 days instead of one.

guess my next trip schedule, w. the jumping around we're doing, it ought to be a 2am curfew..
    like a reasonable human,
    Not.

    Won't burn 4Q, the rest?
let the chips fall where they may.

point balances and bridges may get burned.

semi-OT, can anyone throw Cosmos gaming day time up?
might abide by that. probably won't.

Boyd is 3am. I know that because I have played many of times late at night and then at 3am new day points start. Golden Nugget I am guessing maybe 4am? or 3am or 2am?

Does starting after midnight automatically start the new day or does it depend on gaming day hours regardless what time you start playing? I usually think starting after midnight in another casino is the start of a new gaming day unless you start playing before midnight, which I hope is the case. If the casinos go by gaming day time and not the 12am clock for someone who starts playing (not someone who already has started playing b4 midnight), then my next trip I will make sure I adjust my casino playing schedules.

Oh and anyone know about cosmo? I want to ask in this post to avoid making a new one. I stopped playing before it hit 2am, but went to the gift shop a little after 2am to get some shirts my mom and I liked after winning there before catching the bus back to downtown vegas so if it is 2am hopefully going to the gift shop and get points for getting shirts did not count as a new gaming day. A lot of casinos are 2am so I try to not play past 2am.

gaming day is gaming day, doesn't matter when you start, you don't get a personal 24 hr clock,
so that might catch you on a late arrival or early departure, if you did both you'd have two short ADT days,.

it's not usually midnight, kind of the whole mysterious issue here, but we're almost in the realm of "don't chase comps" here,
If I want to spend some points, eat some food, buy something with points, gamble a little, maybe blow out all the points before I go because I don't know if I will ever again there (shoutout to bad corporate decision makers), I will..

In the words of the great philosopher Shock G (RIP), "Do whatcha like."

and back to what I said, if you're low rolling and get on a run, like it seems you did several times, why not get all the credit for all the time you're playing, even if you lose it all in several hours at least you got some points to boost your next offer.

I'm sure at much higher tiers and for saving huge FP offers it becomes much more of an important decision..

I'd guess Cosmo is 2am or later.. most are, I'll ask next time.

need a side thread on PC hours, usually midnight, earlier weekdays?
Boyd had them cranked down early for a while, IIrc

Yeah I played in 4 queens after midnight til right before gaming day ended earning about 700 points. Players club was of course closed so did not go back until couple days later to see how many points I earned and got my promotional free play of 70. I hope just playing the promotional free play did not hurt my strong play when I earned the 700 points a few days before. I played enough the few hours so hopefully it didnt hurt. My few previous trips to 4 queens jan/feb and memorial weekend were not that good though. I did not have time to play there again because time was running out (leaving next morning) and had to play my offer free play at golden nugget and be able to put in play for a few hours. Golden Nugget is my first priority in offers due to their amazing promotions and offers they send their players. All the other casinos free play is once a month, but not Golden Nugget.

VERY VERY important when you understand ADT. They take your play from each day and create a "value" for you and comps. If you play $1000 over one day, you have an average play of $1000. If you play $1000 over two days, you are now a $500 player. (just random $$ for example only)

Surprised that the gaming day ends so soon at these properties downtown when CET is 5:59AM.

Edit: I also don't understand the secrecy on the casino's part. The people paying attention are clearly the ones actually gambling and they want to make sure they are being comped correctly based on their play.

Also, mods, a gaming day sticky wouldn't be the worst idea.
