As a hypothetical, you load 1,000$’s onto the card. You play but in the end you won 3 -500$ bonus rounds and ended up +1500$ with your 1,000$ still on the card.
Can you then cancel, transfer, cash out the money from your card? Let’s say you can’t. You play on….
Win 5000$ jackpot requiring a w2g. You now have 7500$’s on your card (5k+2.5 earlier). Can you ask for a check of the total if unable to cash, transfer or otherwise get you money off the card?
Just curious. And if no one knows the particulars, how do we keep doing this to ourselves???

A $2.95 flat fee is absolutely killer compared to the alternative of adding funds from a checking account at cashier's cage. Clearly its not the only alternative as most people just bring cash (no fees, yo!) and use it as a guideline of how they are doing.

But not being able to cash out at the cashier and then waiting for a debit card in the mail? Super disappointing.

Sure, but you can't just do a transfer at the cage, and an ATM is at least $7.99, if not $9.99. And a wire transfer is usually around $15. At that point, might as well just open a marker application; if you have any existing accounts, it all goes through Central Credit (part of Everi) and it's a pretty easy process.

Usually if you transfer money from a bank there is no charge. Someone should try that out. No way would I pay extra to play slots.

Lotsa people already "pay extra to play slots" in the form of confiscatory ATM charges!

And they do so voluntarily! If you take two extra minutes, there are fee-free ATMs all over the Strip, just not in the casinos themselves. Every Walgreen's and CVS has them, and there's even one right inside Crystals, just as close to the Aria lobby as the ones on the floor. You do have to have an account that's part of the AllPoint network, but that's just about every major financial institution and credit union.

While I did not use the cash/cashless account I did find one feature handy.
You can connect to your player's account without your player's card.
Set it up by verifying your phone. Then you can log into a machine with your phone number and pin.

I tested trying to log into two machines that way and found it would log you out of the first machine once you logged into the second.

Also they made me get a players card when I won a small handpay. I'm not sure that's entirely legal, but I was planning to get one at some point in any case...

They would have needed to get your info anyway -- if it's a handpay, there are forms to be filled out. Might as well get some casino play out of it, as opposed to the info just living with the government.

I don’t like cashless. It’s not that I can’t control myself but I just like to feel the cash as md k o was when I’m physically h Ed tying vlosff Ed to my daily budget. My method is to bring one days worth of my total budget I play that until I losff Ed it. Though I do h as v Ed V we inning trips I can’t remember not losi g my 1 day budget. I have opened credit lines at each casino I normally stay. I take out markers and at the end of my trip I either pay all of it back. If I owe money it’s automatically deducted from my account. I know my exact win/loss for my trip and and enter all my w-2gs in a spread sheet plus the amount of cash in and out for my taxes. Bottom line, I like to feel my wins or losses.
I will visit Vegas RW, but I’m definitely not going to play at RW. Btw, I have one less than 20 minutes from where I live here in NY and haven’t been there in several years.

This looks pretty much like the Resorts World system. They ignore how to move money from your Resort Wallet back into your bank.

Is it actually only a $2.95 flat fee? Because I’ve heard other reports that it is a 2.95% fee, which seems absurdly high, such that I would absolutely never use this service.

Hearing about the 2.95% fee actually soured me on the casino entirely, and it would be good to know if this impression was wrong. (I know the cashless system and its associated fees are entirely optional, but if they are doing one thing to try to rob players like this, it doesn’t reflect well on how they intend to treat players overall.)

Looks like it is 2.95% to add funds. I can't find the rate, but I've read there is a smaller fee to get funds back out of your account. Sounds close to the Paypal model and way too rich for my blood.

So..... if I'm reading this right, $2000 max deposit per day with a fee of 2.95%. And there is another smaller fee to withdraw it. This is absolute shit. I was trying to see if there was anything attractive about using this as a way to deposit amounts of around $20k for a trip to Vegas with little to no fees and to see that there would be NO fees to withdraw from it when gambling at RW. The answer appears to be no and it looks like my old way of carrying cash is still the better way to go. Even wiring front money is better since the hosts will typically wave the wiring fee when sending anything over $10k. Looks like RW's cashless system is a cash leech that nibbles away at your money every time you use it. Not that the banks are any different, lol.

Can’t you just open up a casino credit account and link it to you bank and avoid all fees? I’ve never done this, as I’m a low roller that brings all the cash that I’m willing to lose, no more than $3000. Lately I’ve been bringing much less, and a Capital One debit card that has no fees for withdrawals as a backup. I’ve only had to use it once, on a 2 day trip to AC. I was only willing to lose $400 a day, and I brought $400, and the card as a backup, lost the $400 the first day, got another $400 day 2, lost half that but the end of the day, and had to leave early the next morning. I would hate to pay any fee on principle to withdrawal my money, especially to gamble with. I play online, and there’s a fee if you want to use a credit card, which sucks because is generate a good amount of cash back. But the fees aren’t cheap, and i believe it’s considered a cash advance, so I’d pay interest from the day I took the money out to gamble. So I have it linked to my bank account, absolutely no fees.

There was another thread on this somewhere on VMB and yes, you can most certainly do it this way. However in my case, living in Canada, my Canadian bank refused to allow my account to be linked to a credit system in any Las Vegas Casino. I was literally at the bank, handed them my phone to speak with the casino cage to provide verified bank info and they refused due to security reasons. I asked if there was any other procedure i needed to go through to have it linked and my bank said there is none. Now, I will tell you that was probably 15 years ago. I think if I tried now, I may be successful but that one time incident is not making me want to try it again. And I don't know if there are any fees on transfers if the link was established. I'll bet that there is.

Resorts World implemented this because they forgot to put safes in the hotel rooms.
