Hi guys, I wonder if MLife will honor the room type on their comped room once I've booked a reservation? For example, if I booked a Nighthawk Suite at Park MGM would they give it to me accordingly or could they decide to just give me a normal room instead? My experience with Caesar's has been that they never gave me the room type I booked for comps, they often gave me the cheapest type and claim that room type is not guaranteed. Thanks a lot for your answers!
I don't think any room is guaranteed (usually stated in communication), but I've never got a "demotion"!
I’ve never had an issue at Mlife so far, but it “could” happen. Relax, and deal with it when the time comes if it does. I’m sure you’re good!
I got bumped at MGM Grand once. I had the Penthouse City View suite booked. But if I remember correctly, there aren’t many of those, and they are very popular.
Regarding comped rooms, IMHO and IME nothing is guaranteed. If a higher roller than you wants the room, they will get it. If you're paying for the room (cash on the barrelhead), that's a different story.
on busy, busy weekends, you MAY get bumped if a higher player comes in at the last minute. this usually only applies though to the few top higher end suites. it all goes by the player totem pole for those particular dates
It happens, but its not like modern day CZR where it's now super likely. Lately they have been letting you book whatever gets your foot in the door at CZR, then putting you where they feel like putting your even downgrading base rooms to worse base rooms.
Not guaranteed, but also very rare to get bumped. You should be fine in a Nighthawk suite at Park MGM.
Thanks everyone for your info. I was in the situation where CZR let me book a comped suite online and then they gave me a base room upon arrival. Happened to me several occasions both in Vegas and Atlantic City. This time I am going to Vegas with my wife so I hope MLife will at least get me that suite I booked online! Let's see!
The only trouble I've ever had with any comp bookings not being honored is when I arrive later in the evening. I got bumped from an Eiffel View room for a night at Paris and other higher end rooms at other props when arriving after say 8pm. It's annoying but I get it, though with Vegas being such a 24-hour town it's a bit annoying. Usually it's just for that 1st night but it's still a hassle to have to move the next day.
@TheTrain85 Anytime you book a comp room (zero dollars for the duration of your trip) they can put you in any room they want. From our experience, they usually won't make a massive downgrade, but we have been downgraded 1-2 steps more than once, especially when we would book a suite (which have a more limited inventory). Booking through a host can certainly reduce the likelihood of this occurring since hosts have a little more pull. Late arrivals have been the primary times our room was changed as well, since they may assume you aren't coming. Now if you are paying for a room through the casino (not an upgrade but an actual paid room type) they can not downgrade you. That has worked to our advantage a few times pre comps where we paid for a nicer deluxe room of sorts and were upgraded to suites for free because they sold that room type out. Currently what we try to do is book a room type better than what we have comped since we know we will get it and 99% of the time we play enough that it gets comped off after as well. I'm talking like paying 30-50 dollars a night for a suite because we are getting casino rate and then having that comped.
