mLife Slow Play: Some finer points

Greetings

I have a two-night comp at Aria (deluxe king) with comped Bruno Mars tickets coming up. I booked through the 800 numner in the email offer. I have a significant number of non-gaming activities planned, so there will be less gamble time than usual. I also have less of a desire to degen, since the trip purpose is different and I'm going with a non-gambler.

• If I slow play, will non Vegas market offers be affected?
• Can I play at Park and not Aria without affecting how the computer sees my play?
• Is there any low play scenario where I'll get a bill for the tickets or room?

My average play is probably 200/hand at bacc for 6ish hours a day. I'm looking more at 75/hand pai gow for about half the time trip.

Can't answer the non Vegas market question.

You can play at any Mlife casino and it should count to your play and trip theo. The only iffy situation is if you are a hosted player however I think that changed recently where they get "credit" for play outside their casino now.

I have never heard of a comp rescinded or withdrawn while on a stay, but it could happen in an extreme circumstance where you don't play at all. There is standard language in the terms of the offer. I have low played Mlife several times to burn them for Freeplay and resort credit while staying elsewhere and nothing has come of it. (As an example I had maybe $400 coin in on a 1 night burner room to get 250 Freeplay and 100 rc, it barely affected the offers)

 

You would effectively be cutting down your trip ADT from just over $1k to around $225-250 -- about 20-25% of your usual. That's not going to be a good look for future offers (which is why I am always careful about where I stay during portions of Vegas trips that are going to be lighter on gaming and much heavier on non-gaming activities -- especially when those activities or other time are spent with people who have far less of a gaming focus). I don't think that your reduction in play would be drastic enough to result in you getting billed for the upfront comp offer.

I will second the advice that the MGM properties at which you play within the Vegas market will not matter since the aggregate number across all properties is what matters. The other thing that could matter based on property is unique to you, the table game player -- how accurately (and possibly player-favorably) you are rated at one property compared to another.

My experience with MGM/Mlife play in one market affecting offers in another...

• Vegas only affects Vegas (even if you somewhat regularly play in another market)
• play in one regional market can affect comped room availability in another regional market, but you only ever get market-specific mailers (and the offer components within them -- free play, show tickets, resort credit, etc.) if you have play within a regional market within the past 18 months

Be prepared to have worse offers for a while with MGM in Vegas.

 

Thanks. Exaxtly what i needed to know. I'm not super concerned about my LV mlife offers, as I don't frequent those properties too much.

I'm not going with the intent of exploiting the offer. I just know it will be a different kind of trip. Ill play as time allows, and the computer will take care of the rest.

 

You will not get burned on the CURRENT trip. The offer will hold even if you play nothing.

Future offers - who knows for sure?

And,. just an observation... many INTENDED low play trips turn into serious play trips. $hit happens - LOL!

 

Haha, I've had that thought several times. A well-intentioned slow-play trip can easily turn into my second divorce.

If I end up degening in the HL, I promise to make a TR out of it. Wife says Manhattans make me uncentered.

SO, I did not make good on my TR promise if I degen-ed in the HL room. I did indeed degen in the HL room. My original question is likely very moot. To pay it forward for all the helpful responses on this thread, here's a brief synopsis with some observations folks might find helpful:

• Aria was hopping on Friday July 3rd at midnight when I arrived. Definitely a high-energy, club vibe. That's not my cup of tea, but it was so refreshing to see "normal" again!
• Table minimums were quite high. Pai Gow was 50-100. I found a spot at a $50 table and played $150 a hand for about three hours. I got quads and a straight flush with $25 side bets, so I was a happy camper. I tipped the dealer handsomely, which hopefully helped my rating (not that I care all that much).
• Then I played bacc in the Aria baccarat room behind the HL room until...the morning? Bets ranged from $300 (table minimum) to $1.5K. I was at a great table with lots of debauchery. If anyone played in that room from July 3-4, you may remember a certain character.
• Drink service in the bacc room was slow, unfortunately. It wasn't the worst I've experienced, but far below Cosmo's HL room or really any other HL rooms I've experienced.
• The next day, I slowed things down a little bit. A couple more hours of bacc, followed by some DDB just messing around.
• Hit AWAK (Dealt!) playing dollars at Park MGM. My first hand pay!
• Bruno Mars was incredible. Comped tickets also made the music sound better.
• Absinthe VIP seating was incredible. That was not comped, but well worth the price tag.

Then on July 4, I got hammered, had six Manhattans and two verbenas in the Cosmo HL room, and decided Cosmo is my new favorite place.

Blasphemy warning: I don't like verbenas. I had two because I finished my wife's. I'd rate it as a decent margarita-ish drink, but I can do without the numbing flower. I'd describe it as what I'd have before a dental filling if insurance didn't cover Novocane.
