    Hi everyone!

We are flying to Vegas in 2 weeks, and are looking for unique/unusual things at Mandalay Bay or Delano! We’ve stayed at both hotels before, but are wondering g what hidden gems are there.

    thanks everyone!

I don't know if there are any truly hidden gems. But I would recommend the Shark Reef Aquarium. Its certainly unique for Vegas. And if you want to splurge a bit, see if any of the experiences there are currently available (we really enjoyed the shark feed a few years ago). You're also only half a mile up the road from the Pinball Hall of Fame and the Welcome to las Vegas sign. So take a short walk down there if you want to experience something a little different.

I would also recommend this. I've gone there for bachelor parties, and also on my own. It's really freaking cool.

If you're staying there, the beach/pool complex is unlike just about anything else in Vegas, and the wave pool is great, as is the lazy river. Certainly not "hidden" by any means, though.

We did the shark feed experience several years ago and it was a blast. I learned that Zebra Sharks (at least in captivity) are pretty much like puppies. They swam right up to where we put the food out for them and nibbled away. They won't let guests feed but did let us watch as they fed the reef and tiger sharks. They were much more Jaws-like, lol. My partner also did the dive experience a few years later, which she loved. Both times, the experiences include a personal behind the scenes tour, which was really cool

Valley of the Falls entered via street level is a pretty chill area to visit for a few. With the loud waterfalls, its kind of peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle of Vegas.

Always a must when staying at MB/Delano is grabbing a drink at Skyfall/Foundation Room. Really solid view of the strip.

    Curious what others say.

Shark reef as mentioned above, and weekend brunch at Border Grill. Heard many good things about Skyfall, and seen some pretty cool videos, but haven't been myself.

I am trying the brunch at Veranda this Saturday. I have been told it blows away the BG brunch, but less people know about it since its tucked away in the four seasons. I hope those people are right!

Interesting. I hadn't heard of it before. I'm a bit confused thought- the menu looks all a la carte. But pictures (Yelp) look more like an AYCE experience (with some very good looking food I will say)?

Haven't tried it yet, but my understanding is that the brunch is AYCE, but still mostly smaller plate options and cocktails. I am very interested to try it.

Repeating the recommendation regarding the pool complex.

Lazy river is excellent. But, for me, there's no other in-resort swim experience like that wave pool. I can't think of any modern resort pool where you can actually swim in water that's more than four or five feet deep. Even on a crowded Memorial Day holiday... swimming out to the deep end of the wave pool, provided some relaxing quiet time.

I posted some with @MikeOPensacola in my last TR! Highly recommended for Border Grill weekend brunch!

    Also second Shark Reef.

I recommend the SeaBreeze Cafe for breakfast! They have real good French Toast, and the decor and view is lovely.

There's a speakeasy concept near the Ice Bar that I like. The entrance door is a bookshelf. There used to be a burlesque element to it, but I think they just have a jazz band or a singer now on certain nights. Between there and SkyFall it's two of my favorite places to get a drink in Vegas.

My one and only experience was in 2019, but yes, it's smaller plates, not served to you like Border Grill. It was a good breakfast, but not sure I would say it blows BG out of the water. I think BG offers a more unique take on brunch (at least compared to what I normally eat). Regardless, I really like Veranda as it's kind of a hidden gem within the MB complex.

I don't know if you golf or not, but on my last trip I went to the Las Vegas Golf Center, which is right down from Mandalay Bay. It has a cool driving range and par 3 course that you can play at night. It also seemed like it had a cool bar/restaurant, but it wasn't open because I was there early in the morning. It's my understanding it has live music sometimes.

While I was there, I thought "This could be fun to take someone to if a break from the casinos was needed." It's right across the street from the Welcome to Las Vegas sign, so it could be fun to go in for a beer and beat a few balls around with some beers, even if you don't golf. They have clubs to rent on sight for like $20 if I remember correctly.

Another vote for Skyfall Lounge. Best view in the city!

For breakfast, there is Citizens Kitchen. However, I would recommend walking through Mandalay Place or taking the tram (if it is running) to the Luxor for breakfast at the Pyramid Cafe. Better prices, and to us, the food is much better there.

As you are walking into Mandalay Place from the casino, there is Cocolini gelato just to the right. YUM!!!!

Stop at the mLife desk and ask about the WIN Cards. These are great if you plan on playing any table games. For $20, you get a set of WIN cards that teach the basics of Blackjack, Roulette, and Craps. They come with $30 in WIN chips that can be used at the table games, and stay in play until you lose them. A nice way to extend your bankroll a little.

Had the brunch at Veranda about a month ago. We dined outside. Well worth it but I actually liked Mon Ami Gabi more for breakfast
