learn to love Martini's and Manhattans, and for the latter, ask if they will make it with Jim Beam, a respectable mid to low tier bourbon.

Sometimes its tough having a Martini made with Crystal Palace, Mr. Boston or Crown Russe, but I guess that's why the Russians keep their vodka in the freezer.

Does max coin at 25¢ games count as satisfying the one-dollar minimum?

(Context - I'm a casual VP player that has always played on the casino floor, but I feel like I'm missing out on the bartop experience. Just trying to educate myself to avoid the awkwardness and embarrassment of those first couple times at the bar.)

I am so glad to know this. Tom Collins is my favorite drink. It’s very hard to find a good tasting one. I definitely have to go there to try them. Thanks so much for sharing this information.

This is good information. I actually don’t drink but I don’t mind grinding out some VP And I will have friends and family besides my wife in Vegas for the first time ever. I may spend some time grinding out VP at the Cosmo bars and then collect drink tickets for the friends and family to use.

drink tix are bar specific and time stamped....I have seen bartenders get picky about the times when they know you weren't the person that "earned them" not always but YMMV, used to be god till end of day but i think now they are stamped with a 2h window (leeway if you are the one playing and using if I experienced correctly)

$20 in at any denom level to start, max bet then if 25c...could play single unit if playing at $1 (but would advise against as you will regret hitting a royal)

Personal opinion---Cosmo. Fiancé and I were actually drinking delicious and well present cosmopolitans. Very rich in flavor---who know how much they would cost at the actual bar.

@fenway68 you're correct about the 2 hour time frame being important. They were scanning the tickets at the sports book VP and chandelier bar when I was there last weekend

    Yes

Again out of 20 plus times they've only looked at my screen once and verbally said that. But that's the general rule at least 20 in and bet so you have a dollar or more going a hand. Quarters max bet etc.

$20 in and actually playing. Don’t forget the second part. I heard a bartender while I was at Cosmo last week complaining to another guest about a rowdy group overnight that security had to get involved with. Each of them put a $20 in, played one hand, and then caused a scene when presented with a check for not playing. I got the sense he was looking for the fight to chase them off the bar, but you definitely don’t want to be as blatant as they were in your scheming.

I'm usually playing $.50 denom, so $2.50/hand. I play pretty fast so I'm usually getting a ticket every 15 minutes or so.

This post is in regards to casino floor cocktails - not bar tops:

I find that MLife casinos generally suck now. Ever since they got rid of the bartenders and use machines to pour all their drinks, they are not good anymore. Even the upper tier ones (Aria, Bellagio) are shades of their former selves. Their cocktails simply just don’t taste good. And weak pours.

Just spent four days playing at Wynn and the drinks were so much better.

I'm pretty sure this doesn't matter -- first ticket at 10 minutes, next at 15, all others at 20, regardless of denomination.

I think the tickets have both a play element and time element. You would get your first ticket after both (1) 10 minutes of play and (2) around 20 points/$120 of coin in on VP.

Does the Cosmo HL bar use tickets? Or is it all good as long as actively playing? I know all the bartops are $5+ in there.

no tickets there, it’s the oldschool system (bartender’s discretion). I think there are lower denominations on there too for stuff like triple play STP etc.

I played there a couple times and think I remember the bartender telling me that they can generally comp every shot/ drink up to $50 if I remember correctly. But that was 2 years ago, I hope it will still be the same when I finally return soon. :)

Great thank you I may venture in next time. Willing to play $5 max coin albeit at a low volatility game for some good drinks!!
