    My Trip Report

I envy the members who can post live trip reports. i don't seem to have that ability to vacation and post at the same time . LOL

have no idea why some pf my pics are not rotated correctly and tried to fix but nothing seemed to work

    Overview
Six nights vacation from NY staying three nights @Cosmo and 3 nights @Wynn Tower Suites (first time WOW). with a one night double booked stay at NoMad to take advantage of FP and RC.
Couple of first time restaurant visits - Costa Di Mare and Allegro and first visit i can remember without a Sinatra visit (more on that later) and no steakhouse !
Three hand pays but still a losing trip.
Golden Knight game capped off a fun trip

    Travel
I flew out on the morning of 6/9 using e-tickets I had for Delta. Booked Delta One from JFK. Delta changed my original flight from 8 AM to 7 AM . that curtails my time in the new Amex Centurion lounge. Arrived at JFK plenty of time. Spent some time in the new lounge- meh. Precheck at T4 at JFK was good. it was a bit crowded but way less crowded than the regular line the one in LAS is so much better in my opinion. Flight was uneventful. Delta still serving prepackaged snacks as meals in Delta One - disappointed since i flew JetBlue Mint during pandemic and they still served hot meals. Service was also meh. Mint wins this route hands down....but i had credits.

Arrived at LAS early . Used Cosmo Platinum perk and Cosmo driver was waiting . grabbed bags and was off to Cosmo -

Flight home was uneventful as well... was really looking forward to the snack box and beef jerky for the flight home (sarcasm). TSA precheck for D Gates was great. the regular line was busy and there was only one other person on PreCheck line. was through in under five minutes. There were no amenity packs either which you usually get on Delta One - again something JetBlue was still doing. No headphones so the FA credited Delta SkyMiles with 5000 points , which was a positive.

    tempImage9uDXQp.png
    Delta One "meal"

    Cosmopolitan

Checked into the Cosmo - Chelsea Tower - Studio Fountain View - seamless check-in at invited guests . I tried to use the lounge but i wasn't coded as VIP - the lounge was bare - no champagne, coffee etc. so no big deal the room was clean - the view hasn't changed - spectacular as always .

Dropped bags - off to activate my "new" credit line - it had to be renewed since i hadn't been at Cosmo since August 2019. Went to the HL slots room only to find that the cashier window there was closed- a fallout from the Pandemic I assume. i had never seen it closed before. hoofed back to main cage and grabbed a marker . hit the .25 100 play DDB . dealt a straight on the first hand at 100 hands - good start ! i'll play 100 hands for the first pull then go down to my regular $25-$50 a hand play.
    tempImage7Ydn5U.png tempImage4hkbbA.png

hit this fairly soon after . So I'm thinking wooohoooo great start .

    tempImage4hkbbA.png tempImage7Ydn5U.png
hit 2 royals at the .25 level - no hand pay
    tempImage1SkWyF.png
    tempImagezC6klf.png
And then nothing in the next 2 days - absolutely nothing - held 4 to a royal in one instance and didn't even get a flush at 20 hands - I couldn't even take a picture of it .

I realized after two days of getting crushed at DDB I should switch to BP - the bankroll couldn't handle the added variance.....still fun hitting some aces with a kicker - just not enough of them

Hit the Cosmo pool - Chelsea pool for a couple hours - quiet vibe and was a perfect day for a couple beers and some sun

    D94FAA1C-B64A-4EF6-B233-EFD00FB38345_1_201_a.jpeg

First time i sat at Chandelier bar and played some VP .... $1 7/5 BP - didn't really lose or win there but but was fun hanging out there - always wanted to do this but never did

Cosmo was packed for the Wednesday - Saturday I was there and it was great ti see it almost back to normal

Host comped what he could and the $250 RC took care of the rest of my bill, so that was good at least

    NoMad

Headed over to NoMad for Thursday night - to check in ; was upgraded to Atelier room. Room was much nicer than i expected . i wanted to use my RC to eat at Carbone. Wasn't planning on seeing there but the best laid plans of mice and men.......

headed to the Park MGM high limit room and played some and then headed to the center bar to watch the Golden Knights - didn't score a ticket as I had planned and had reservations anyway .

Vegas was up when i left the bar and there were some Avalanche fans there as well.... was fun

Lost another $1100 at Park MGM - wanted to play some so as not to totally burn MGM - i know my offers will not be as good

ended up sleeping at NoMad that night by the time i got back from Carbone and played a little - i just crashed there since i had a change of clothes in the room.

    Wynn Tower Suites

Arrived at Wynn at 3 PM. Greeted by doorman/bellman and could tell the service in the TS would be fantastic and I wasn't disappointed . Check in was nor crowded - my room wasn't ready so i sat in the TS bar and had a drink. after awhile I went back to the front desk and well my room was ready But oh it really wasn't according to the rep.... it wasn't fully cleaned...... she asked if i was OK with a golf course view . Sure that is fine. i actually liked the golf course view and even watched a couple flights land

    tempImage6VJWZ4.png tempImagefTA09i.png

Loved everything about the tower suites - housekeeping was fantastic - the water bottles in the room are great and the complimentary pressing was perfect . not to have to iron a shirt !!! great.

The TS pool was laid back and the service was great - didn't have phone so no pics of me drinking .

Parasol Up is closed for renovations - bartender at Parasol down said possibly six months but who knows

    tempImage8k1JtO.png

Initiated my fee play and off to the machines. I played some 1 line $5 full pay BP and 5 and 10 lines $1 7/5 BP the first 2 days I hit nothing and just shrunk my bankroll further

had a couple four to a royal with nothing . this was lining up to be a very bad trip.
upped the ante to the 10 play machine $50 a pop and thinking more line the better chance I have of making some $ back

and then this happened the second night

    tempImageBcnYpl.png tempImaget2t3QL.png

good thing for that hit . kept me afloat for the rest of the trip
then back to the $5 single line the next day

    tempImage1oTq01.png
hot for a few hundred on Pinball slot machine on the way out the last day as well.

checking out of the TS I was sad . I could definitely stay there for an extended time. the service as i had already stated was very very good.

    DINING Cosmo part of stay
Hit Henry for breakfast for the short rib benedict
and hit Holsteins twice for burgers - still good but i know think Black Tap is better

Also hit up Momofuku for lunch for pork belly bins ...never disappoint
    tempImageTd6Au8.png

I had made several reservations pre-trip

Dinners I had reserved first night Jaleo, 2nd night Carbone, 3rd night Blue Ribbon

    Jaleo

as a solo diner i was asked whether i wanted the bar or a table. i opted for the table. the service was excellent . the food was good, but not great . i remembered it being better the first time I was there. i had a Jose taco; caviar on iberico ham, grilled octopus. potatoes braves (always a fave , and lamb chops. i totally fogged on taking pics

    Carbone
used my Life dining credit . Resaved a table .... texted the bartender i am friendly with to let him know and he got me a seat at the bar . Walked over from the NoMad as the Golden Knights were wrapping up Round two
grilled octopus again; spicy rigatoni and meatballs
nice bottle of Italian wine made for a GREAT dinner . the bartenders here are great and always have a good time chatting with them

The octopus at Carbone was better than at Jaleo
    tempImages8bKxw.png tempImage8YmppD.png tempImageXYoGL8.png tempImagexKJi8z.png

    Blue Ribbon

Had a reservation. there were no seats at the bar so had a good table near the bar. the servers were excellent . salad, Colorado "rack" of lamb lamb and a glass wine hit the spot

    tempImageN4Gpt2.png

    Wynn dining

So I used the concierge on arrival day and made reservations for Allegro (1st time); Costa di Mare (1st time) and Sinatra on my last night. the concierge was fantastic and even tweaked my reservations as they weren't exactly available when i made them. received texts telling me they arranged the original times i wanted

i had breakfast at Tableau and terrace Pointe; some chicken tenders at Charlie's watching the Islander hockey game Sunday afternoon , and walked over to Black Tap at Venetian for a nice burger on Monday afternoon , which turned out to be a pre-game meal.

    Allegro

Ok so i heard about the lasagne on this board and my Italian-American curiosity got to me. The restaurant was very crowded on a Saturday night. i was seated promptly . ordered the burrata , lasagna and meatballs. very very good. the lasagna was close to what i grew up with ( delicious) the meatblalls were good but Carbone's are a slight bit tastier . the burrata was excellent. Service was great. definitely a good "casual" joint

    [

    tempImageuq5ivL.png tempImage3DFyvH.png tempImage7sCtB4.png

    Costa di Mare

was seated within 5 minutes- the service was phenomenal. So i opted for the tasting menu . the server , Antonio , said easy to do for one person. Don't worry about it . Oh my God. everything was beyond fantastic . I was blown away by the food and service. by the time the main course fish came i was stuffed
Two gents sitting next to me said they were amazed i could still be eating. they said they were "hanging with me" LOL
if this is in your budget , please try this place out

    tempImageWYhnVG.png tempImageQ0q1YE.png tempImageiwL6A2.png
    PURPLE SNAPPER

i opted for the Grilled Shrimp, Langoustine, Spiny Lobster $30 supplement - it was so good I forgot to take a pic of it . Worth the supplement

Monday I had reservations at Sinatra BUT i was able to get decent seat for the Vegas Golden KNoght game one for the semifinals .

so i grabbed a burger at Black Tap @Venatian
    tempImageuw02f1.png

very good burger and beer I missed Sinatra and could have gone after the game BUT i'll host it next time

    Golden Knights

The game was fantastic/ Vegas knows how to put on show and the Knights getting the win was great

    C3086CC6-CB02-4E82-AA22-11D3D641EA9A.jpeg 806E40ED-7429-464C-91DE-9CA4B6521346.jpeg ACF22FB7-FE0A-4512-AD7F-B3F31490A551.jpeg F2141D2F-00F0-49F2-8119-DA2098835D79.jpeg

and I fly all the way too Vegas to see a hockey game and an Islander fan is in my row .... and two more people from Long Island as well. Go figure

After the game i used my MLife platinum card to bypass the long cab line back to Wynn.

wanted a quick bite but the only choices were Allegro (already done that ) the cafe ( I still wanted to sit down). Charlies bar tops were open because of the game I suspect but no food. everything is "almost back to normal. except some of the restaurants not open all of the time yet if Charlies was open i would have grabbed a sandwich and a beer I ended up heading to Parasol Down and had some quick nites off the bar menu . hit the spot so it worked out in the end

    CONCLUSION

Although it was a losing trip, the new restaurants I tried were very good. The Cosmo and Wynn Tower suites were excellent .... Edge to Wynn Tower Suites. Wynn is tier matching for new and existing players through 8/31/2021, so I used my MLife Platinum to secure a Wynn Platinum though 12/31/2021. i got about 65% to Platinum , so I HAVE to go back before 12/31 to maintain the Platinum

Things I planned to do but never happened :

    Esther's Kitchen
    Speakeasy at the Mob Museum
    Palace Station for some VP
    and check out Circa

    next time, i promise myself

    i

    Viva Las Vegas !!

Great write-up and pics. Thanks for posting. Love the news that Wynn is matching, I'll have to do that. Holy sh*t, my CET dimond-elite transfers to Black. I'll be treated like @Flowers!

Fantastic trip report!! The food looked awesome and getting to watch a playoff game, even if it's not your team playing, is super cool as well. I did that once too, going to a Devils/Flyers game at the Rock, even though I am not a fan of either team. Always fun to attend a playoff game!!

Thanks. Playoff atmosphere in hockey is awesome. i adopted the Knights as my team when they joined the league . I've been rooting for them since the inception. Islanders-Knights final, I root for the Knights ...because it is fun to catch gruff from my friends.

Islanders have some work to do, since they really got destroyed last night. Worst loss in their playoff history. It won't be easy taking the next 2 games against Tampa. They might even lose Barzal to a suspension. But Vegas has the advantage over the Habs, since they have the home ice, after the big OT win in Game 4. Should be exciting!! Tampa and Vegas would be the more exciting Finals anyway!!
