    Cruella - Disney+

Always been indifferent to the animated movie
    I like Emma Stone
    This was better than expected
    Really good use of music

    Worth a watch 3.5/5

I just watched “American Hustle” again the other day. Incredible cast, and they all brought their A game. And then some. IMHO, a top five movie over the past 10 years.

Done streaming season 1 of Hacks.
Was not expecting to be streaming two episodes a week for five weeks.
After the first week of two episodes, I was expecting one a week.
Show has been renewed for a 2nd season.

Watched 1st Loki episode last night - pretty good. We really liked Wandavision but haven't seen Falcon Winter Soldier yet. Decided to cancel Disney+ at end of subscription yr (June 30 or so) and get HBO max for next yr. We're not watching Disney enough and since w haven't had HBO, there's a ton of new options for us there. Gotta do these sorts of reviews every so often ;-)

Me and the wife occasionally watch Law and Order SVU, since Peacock is streaming all episodes, we’ve been binge watching in order, if it’s an episode we’ve previously seen, we skip to the next. We started at season one, now we’re at season 17, and there’s 24 episodes per season. And there’s 22 seasons. We did watch the current season i real time however. What’s interesting there’s episodes we’ve seen with sadistic characters, and we didn’t know they were in previous episodes, like the rapist that escaped prison, we saw the episode that landed him in prison.

The best option is to subscribe to Disney+, binge watch the the show, the cancel the subscription then restart it when the next series starts. I like to watch the Marvel shows the first day, so I keep the subscription for a couple of months than cancel. One Falcon and Winter soldier stopped, I canceled, then restarted my subscription for Loki. If they were smart there would be no gaps between shows. That’s what HBO does.

I don't binge, so if I want to finish Loki, I'll subscribe next year. I also don't like bouncing back and forth - no tv show is worth it to me. Different strokes ;-)

If you like interesting true stories, McMillions is one of the best I’ve seen. I still can’t believe it’s real. The characters are hilarious but it ends up rather tragic. It’s the only documentary I’ve ever watched more than once. It’s on HBO-MAX and Hulu.

Re-watching “Crime Story” and just hit the part where they all go to Vegas. Now that I know downtown a bit better I can identify the places that are still around.

I just finished Broadchurch. It was so good, but SO heavy. Looking for something light and fun now.

We started watching Loki and enjoy it, but I'm gonna cancel Disney at the end of June (trying HBO max for the next year) so we'll miss the end unless I decide to pay for a month or so more. Oh well....

Second season of Lupin on Netflix. He’s a charming thief. Omar Sy has the best smile.

Guessing the show has been mentioned already, but I absolutely loved Queen's Gambit on Netflix. It comes from the same writer who gave us Godless. Amazingly, these stories are totally different.

But, as with Godless, I was mesmerized by the story of Beth Harmon from orphan to world chess champion. The actress who played Harmon was brilliant—the last episode chronicling her participation in a Russian chess tournament in 1968 was wild, if not quite realistic—although the character of the CIA agent who chaperones her rings true. Finally, as with Godless, the hero wins and the villain is vanquished—perfect. And all in seven episodes.

Damn, you are right. I hope the writer's are thinking of that. She's a great character and there's plenty of material that could be had, both in her relationship with Jimmy and on her own—would love to know her back story. The scene where she gets Jimmy out of the fiasco with Lalo in their apartment is one of the best of the series.

Agree! She is amazing, and saved Jimmy’s ass with Lalo. I hope she doesn’t die because it’s been pointed out we don’t see her in Breaking Bad. I also don’t feel great about Nacho’s chances, sadly.

Love that series, especially when it moved to Vegas. Some trivia you may or may not know. The series started in Chicago, before moving to LV. The male lead, Dennis Farina, was a Chicago cop for 17 or 18 years.

I haven't streamed much, but this week I'm watching extra coverage of the US Open.

    Just started watching Manifest.

I enjoy the dramas with some sort of supernatural element to them as I like to think outside the box and have that “didn’t see that coming” thought. I really enjoyed Lost, Fringe, and Alcatraz (which didn’t appreciate they canceled that one in the first season).
