    My Trip Report

Quick trip report from Borgata. Great one night stay with my wife

Room great as usual. Had a comped room. Checked in and asked if upgrade available. Set us up for a mini suite with a great room — still comped

Homestead continues to be my favorite restaurant in AC. Splurged for a 4 pound lobster stuffed with crabmeat which was presented and then taken out of the shell ( I was lazy last night). Awesome!!! i added a Wedge salad - all I needed - well, along with a martini and a couple glasses of Sancere. My wife had a caprese and a small filet, Perfectly done, along with a Chardonnay and a Merlot. I must say Homestead has a very good and reasonable selection of wines by the glass.

Saw Marina at the barbershop. Great haircut and love her straight razor shaves. FYI - spa and salon will be increasing staff beginning tomorrow and fully staffed by June 21. Pools will also reopen 7 days on June 21

Only about 10% of people wore masks. None required. Some plexiglass at craps table ( on both sides of stick and next to dealers, but not between players. Most slots open again.

Craps: lots of $25 tables and some $15. No $10 on a Wednesday afternoon or evening ( that I saw). FWIW - I lost miserably

Slots: I had a couple of nice wins on Buffalo and Dragon. But I have to mention a new concept in slots. - at least it is new to me. Called “Happy 8s”or “Jolly 8s”. Pretty cool.

Wow, a crabmeat stuffed jumbo lobster, wedge salad, martini, red wine. I could have stopped reading right there.

Haven't been to Homestead, but will have to get to Bobby Flay first. Also, the Buffet is scheduled to reopen tomorrow.

As for craps partitions, they are down at Caesars, Ocean, and Bally's.

Did you get a chance to visit the Beergarden outside?

    Thanks for the writeup.

No biergarden this time. Been there done that. Not sure it was open

Bobby Flay is closing or closed. I used to love their half chilled lobster appetizer. Will miss it. Best value in AC.

They delayed the Bobby Flay closing until the Fall sometime.

Cool to see a new post on Borgata. We booked a trip today, this will be our first time to Atlantic City. I don't see stuffed lobster on the menu.

Lobster “ market price “ is on the menu. Then also on the menu is “add these classics” - including baked colossal crab meat. As I said, it is a pricey entree, but I was up for the splurge.

Borgata is the only place to stay in AC (IMO). I love that it opening fully and masks are optional. I’ll be back once smoking is allowed. Stogies and VP are my guilty pleasures.

Thanks for the report! I was thinking about a quick AC trip this weekend but may go next weekend instead. I'm leaving lots of free play on the table but also don't want to risk too much BR as 2 weeks from today I'll be en route to Vegas! But I enjoyed playing at Borgata when I was there in March and look forward to returning.

Did you ever light up your stick on the 11th floor deck at Ocean? Great views and you could even grab a cocktail from the lobby bar.

Beautiful views from that deck. Ocean is my standby when I need a change. It’s a great place for a smoke.

great view for sure, but that wind coming off the ocean at Oceans can be fierce. Last two trips it was blowing so hard you could barely push the doors open to walk out!

And sad to hear Bobby Flay is closing. Does anybody know what type of restaurant is taking its place? A nice Greek or Mexican place would be a nice addition!

Sounds like a fun night at the Borgata.
Was not aware of Bobby Flay closing and I guess Wolfgang Puck is gone also.
    Any idea when that happened?

I feel like Wolfgang Puck closed down during the pandemic and never re-opened. We stayed at Borgata a few months back and I don’t remember being able to order to go food
