    My Trip Report

We have arrived for our anniversary trip (which we didn't realize was over our anniversary until like a week ago, lol). Flight here was uneventful. Flew out on Frontier non-stop.

After arriving at LAS, pulled up my ride share apps and prices were horrendous! We got to airport around 430pm, Uber was around $28 and Lyft was $33! So we decided on taxi to Mandalay for $19 flat fee rate. There was no line for the taxi as well in Terminal 3.

The priority line Mandalay was moving a little slow, but not the worst. We are staying here one night. We were booked on an offer for $50RC/$30FP in a Resort king room. Asked about some upgrades since it's our anniversary. Ended up deciding on the penthouse sky suite strip view for $100. The room and view are gorgeous!

I'll get some night pictures later.

Played our free play (room play and Konami). Turned $80FP total into $60, so not bad start.

We are now at dinner at Hussongs Cantina. I will let you all know how we like it!

Dinner at Hussongs was pretty good, I would go back. Prices weren't bad, around $20/person for entrees. We spent around $80 after entrees and drinks. The chips and salsa were complementary (which I feel is worth mentioning since so many places are charging you for them now). I had the shredded beef chimichanga and the hubby had shredded pork fajitas. For drinks, hubby had the mango mojito and I had a blackberry swirled margarita.

After dinner we walked to Luxor and Excalibur to use our Konami free play. Over all for the day we played $180 of free play and turned it into $180 cash. I'll take that!

Tomorrow we have lounge chairs booked at Mandalay Beach and are gonna spend the day at the pool. So we will check the bags at the bell desk in the morning and play at the pool. We got checkout for 12pm, so I'll either checkout on the app or go to the desk and do it. Then it will be off to Harrah's.

    Happy Anniversary!

Great start! Your free play paid for the upgrade and then some so great job. I’d never eaten at Hussongs but it looks like it’s worth a try!

I have that same room booked in 2 weeks. It looks as if it was near the elevator, was it? I asked for a room near the elevator with a strip view. Yours looks perfect.

    hope the winning continues.

Gorgeous room and view! When you told me the dates you were going, I assumed you planned it for your anniversary!

How was the Mandalay casino? I've heard it's been kind of dead there.

Have a great pool day! I hope Harrah's isn't a let down after this suite!

Yes, it is near the elevator. Only a few doors down from it.

The Mandalay Casino wasn't bad. Picking up some. Not many tables open and cocktail service was pretty bad. I think the only place we played at today that a cocktail waitress came by was Luxor.

I didn't notice any venting in the windows at all.

    Happy anniversary!

Did you happen to notice the MLife hours at Excalibur? They keep changing and I hate having to play a guessing game on if they will be open for me to redeem MyKonami free plays.

If you had resort credit and charged it to the room, you generally won't see the charge show up until you're over your resort credit. My last trip at Mandalay Bay, no room charges showed up in my folio until I had used all my resort credits and whatever was going to be charged to my card showed up.

Nice room. Very similar to the standard king at the Fremont. Have a great trip.

The pool is amazing. When we first got here we wondered if renting the chairs was worth it...but as the day has gone on the answer is YES! Really no free chairs left by 10am.

Had a quick bite at the litter Cafe. Food was good and got some adult beverages. Hubby got a pineapple mojito and I got a party punch (rum, strawberry, sweet and sour, orange juice). Great time so far. Played the the wave pool for a bit. Relaxing with our drinks before heading to the lazy river. One downside here is that drinks are not allowed in ANY of the pool areas. Would have loved to have booze with me on the lazy river.
