CET seems to lack a basic understanding that when you have a pain point, such as now when tourism is significantly down, a short sighted move to increase short term revenue such as this will not only not make up for massive losses, but make flying to southern Nevada even less attractive for the casual traveler.

While most folks off of this forum likely aren't aware of resort fees to begin with, a $79 dollar room during normal times may be even less attractive when it's actually $129. They'll find out the hard way, and if karma is real, so will CET.

This is an old post/question, but I can answer since I just got back from Caesar's Palace... I'm a Diamond, so they did waive resort fees, and I didn't get charged for any amenities. Used the wi-fi, used the fitness center, etc. It's like you're paying resort fees, but it's just $0.

The booking site policies page says Planet Hollywood is now $39.00 instead of $37.00. Same "benefits".

When I was there for two weeks, the hot tub was out of order. So ask about that when you book.

It will say on the offers. My first few offers didn’t have it and it meant I couldn’t use the fitness center or the internet. However, I just connected to the same free internet they provide the public. It’s probably slower but I was able to stream video. All my offers now have resort fees. I emailed my host and asked the front desk to waive the fees but no go. Other than the first few times my play has dropped dramatically so I didn’t expect much.

For Caesars properties, it will say first two devices are included free and you put in your room number and last name.

For MGM properties, you just agree to the terms with a checkbox. Why am I paying resort fees for this when it’s already free for everyone? Am I missing something here?

Paris is now $45. The website's "hotel policies" still lists it at $39, but the fee shows as $45 when attempting to book a room. I emailed CET customer service and they confirmed that it's $45.

I’m a downtown guy that always have a comp room with no resort fee charge. It amazes me that casinos offer a comped room but still charge you a resort fee! I saw one board member talking about his “comped” one night stay. Said he had to pay the resort fee of around $40, and paid them an extra $25 to get an early check in! $65 for a “comped” room! In a few years those fees will rise up to a level that the hotels used to charge for the room a few years ago!

    But, hey!....that’s ok. It’s comped!

Virgin still has no resort fee, and still includes fitness center, pool, wifi. And TV casting (which I saw above in the Resorts World fee) -- it has the Google Chromecast dongle attached, so you can cast from your phone. First time I've seen that automatically set up (and I guess Resorts World too now).

SKYLOFTS has resort fees now. I feel sorry for the people that can afford to stay there.

For Wynn/Encore, they have pool access as part of it. I don't think it was there before.

The resort fee is optional for comp stays. If you choose not to pay it, you don't get what it covers. For WIFI you can pay it separately. I asked around and was told the pool access is nothing to worry about. Technically, I can be denied access if I didn't pay. Something to watch out for in case they get strict about it.
