we had a cabana reservation that got us in, but, IMO, if you stay at Cromwell when I booked, you could go to Caesars as a guest because Drais was still supposed to be closed on weekdays. I'm not sure now, to be honest, if that is still the case.

I didn't see any signs for that. I don't believe the weekday drink specials exist anymore here.

Actually, another random find: High Noons are only about 4.50 in the CET wine and spirits shops, which struck me as astoundingly cheap for something that costs 2-3 bucks a can at the supermarket at home. A 24 ounce truly was $6. The wine and spirits stores really aren't that expensive. If you just want something simple, this is a way better deal than the horrifying bar prices. The bar price on my lousy 0.9 ounce pour of Titos/Pineapple was $9.60 (comped as playing VP, but provided for reference.)

One other random drink comment: the draft St Archers IPA at the Cromwell bar is absolutely horrible. Just embarrassing.

    Speculating here:

Cromwell is a club casino that always had little play, as the target customer is going to Drais/Omnia/etc. The old management tried to juice its play figures with good odds. Even with it, the place was never all that full. The new management has decided that the play will be about the same either way, so why give people randomly better odds here than at, say, Ballys or Harrahs? It pains me to say it, but I think they are right, and this is an easy decision to make. It was also kinda silly to offer $2 beers here.

The real question to me is why they aren't letting Ballys be a value joint, since there's no other reason to go there.

Eh, worse than anywhere else on the Strip is pushing it. They had $5 UTH on saturday morning and their cocktail waitresses remain insanely fast. I'd rather play here than Harrahs for the same limits on days/times when the club crowd isn't taking over half the casino, and they still have two All-Star II units at the bar with the CET best quarter STP game.

Random harrahs comment: It was absolutely hot in the casino with that opening to Carneval. They need to close the doors when it's 108 degrees out.

I mean, they only had 2/3rds of the now remaining tables open at 10 pm on a Saturday night...they just don't need those tables which faced Eatwell.

Thanks - it was a great trip. First time I've gotten my wife away from the kids for a year and a half. It was good for her soul. Also saw my twin for the first time since 2019, and got to spend time with my mom and dad without my little ones there. I needed that. While the service quality is down due to the sheer lack of workers, people are busting their rears and doing a great job. It felt like Vegas again.

I miss the Barbary Coast. 5 bucks to a cocktail waitress got me all the abandoned drinks people ordered at tables and then walked off before they arrived. Just kept giving my buddy and me trays of assorted cocktails for hours...

Thanks for the update! Like others, truly disappointed. For years, Cromwell has been my warm up and at times extended playing spot for $15, 3:2 blackjack. The $15 would magically morph into green chip play after an hour or so. Great, fast and friendly service. Have never stayed there but it was always my first stop for a few Barbary Dogs and a BJ session, or two, or three.

I’ve been holding back on making a summer/early fall trip based on what is going on at Cromwell. It now looks like it may be a thing of the past and I have to recalibrate expectations and warm up spot location.

Can confirm, as a cromwell guest you can do Drais, or Caesars or Flamingo.

Lol they couldn’t even have housekeeping do my room today!

me: you’re the smallest hotel on the strip

front desk: with an even smaller housekeeping staff

    me: *silence* …

    laughable

For all the money put into the place by gutting and rebuilding, it's very telling that new management doesn't view the property as a high end piece of the portfolio by virtue of their operational decisions.

That’s too bad, because it did feel high end for a couple of years after opening.

I had the same issue on one day. I have heard that this is an issue across the board...no one can hire maids. Anecdotally, have heard similar from other casinos, not just Cromwell and not just CET. This is an example of what I meant by service is way down. They don't have the staff.

I really don't understand how they expect to charge premium prices for a room that was as beat up as what I stayed in. there was so little that needed to be changed to make it look 4.5 star. It also needed some technology refreshing - the lamps have 3 prong outlets for your phone cords. There's no modern hotel charging area like you see in newer rooms where you have multiple USBs/outlets on either the nightstands or on the lamp. Again, for only ~300 rooms, it's an easy fix!

The casino floor still looks great, though - it looks as good as it did when it opened.

Dunno if this is indicative of a change, or another instance of CZR just reminding all the observant players that they hate us and dont want our business (i.e. if it's not currently true), but this came in an email offer (a real sh**y one but who cares) that I just received at 13:30 EDT today, June 10th...copied and pasted from the email. If this is all gone as reported by boots on the ground, then this is another huge f**k you from Caesars. I know personally that the only BJ games they had when I was there were 6:5, not double deck, and $25 minimums, but anyway, this is the text I just received in an email - we need confirmation one way or the other:

"Winning looks good on you! Experience next-level gaming with Caesars Rewards Slots+ where you can enjoy instant rewards and promotions all without leaving your seat. While you're here, test your skills on the table with 100X Odds on Craps, 3/2 Double Deck Blackjack and many more at The Cromwell Las Vegas Casino."

And, when, in our real corporate lives, have we ever seen Operations, Marketing and Production on the same page?

True - but the pasted text was the entire core text of the email. I've never gotten an email offer from them out of the 3 to 5 emails a day they've been sending for months, promoting the good rules at Cromwell, until about a week after seeing in this report that the last of them, the 100x craps, is no more. Its impeccably bad timing unless they are bringing them back.

Remembering the good old days at the Barbary Coast. As CET Diamonds, we have already transitioned to Cosmo and, with the thread re: the status match at the Wynn, will be giving them our strip play too. As strange as it seems, getting a decent drink is high on the list of "must haves" and with the added bonus of getting that in a glass, Cosmo has gotten all of our former CET play.
Sorry to hear about the Cromwell rooms as we stayed there a few years ago and even though they were small and dark, they were well appointed.

One of the reasons I stopped going to Foxwoods and switched to Mohegan a long time ago. Plastic v Glass.

No plans to give CET any business during my upcoming trip for this and all other aforementioned issues.
