Who are these people they are hiring? Does CET not pay hosts a marketable wage? Are they just above a level of a normal customer service rep or what?

I have worked for companies in the past who have given titles of "Manager" and "Director" to people with wages that were minuscule in comparison to what that title actually paid elsewhere. Wonder if its the case with CET hosts. (Although I DO know there are a few diamonds in the rough out there)

we had to get rid of a host several years ago. I had a mediocre host at the time and my wife got assigned a guy we both really liked but I'm the one who books our trips so we asked him to move me to his book. What we had to do as I recall was book 2 trips in a row without using a host and at that point he could move me over to him. We've been with him for a while now and even though I know our weanie gambling budget isn't worth his time he still makes us feel appreciated - not with anything compwise that we don't deserve but by being very responsive (usually with a couple hours unless he's off and even then he often still gets back to me before he's back to work), calling us just to check in every few months and stopping by to visit for 10-15 minutes while we're out losing money on the casino floor.

Someone mentioned titles and our current host's title is Senior Executive Casino Host. The host we got rid of's title was pretty clearly a marketing type title.

I agree that for the vast majority of the time, I can take care of everything myself and definitely don’t need anybody to hold my hand. There are only a couple of things where they could be helpful. A previous host offered to comp one night and give casino rate on a couple of other nights for rooms for a friend (I have reached the age, where it’s best if everyone has their own room). It would be nice in that instance. The other reason is that I have already hit Diamond Elite this year, and am on a pace to possibly hit 150K TC this year and be eligible for consideration for Seven Stars for the first time. Now, before anyone says anything, yes I’m keenly aware of the devaluation of Diamond/Seven Stars status by CET. Also, I agree that it would be stupid to lose big money chasing it. However, I intend to continue to play at a level in accordance with my Financial/Emotional bankroll. If it turns out I hit the 150K level - great. If I don’t, it won’t exactly ruin my day. To make a long short, if I hit that level, it would be nice to have a host to bird dog it through the process.
i believe that the title is Caesars Rewards Executive.

I've never encountered a fully booked restaurant at CET, but you can get the late checkout without a host. I used to do it all the time just by asking at diamond checkin

I have a host(ess) I’ve known since before she was one and was merely a “desk Sargent”. She does rooms, food upon request AND answers email within 4 hours of receiving if working (in the am upon returning from off days). She’s great. :)
I changed from another lady who was just sorta indifferent to us. She was nice but in The sea of gaming she focused on the big ones and the minnows took up the same amount of time so we understood. And not knowing the rules we just asked the current one to do stuff and she complied without making us perform in the circus. It’s been great.
But it’s also been with Boyd…..

That means they aren't a real host.
The Marketing Reps are basically a slight step above telemarketers.
Usually much easier to use the 800 number versus them.
CET LV hosts are based at a single property or properties for cases like Paris/Ballys.
Agree with @Flowers even the regular hosts seem oblivious at times. I'm never quite sure if they truly don't have information or purposely withhold.

I have been locked out of a weekend reservation at Hells Kitchen (Ceasars) but my host unlocked a table. At Diamond checkin at Ceasars they can only purportedly give a late checkout until 1:00 PM. My host gave me until 3:00 PM. Then again I don't bet yellow (or pumpkin) chips like @UKFanatic

Yeah, maybe my host already had it on a profile or something like that. And FWIW, I think the latest I asked for was 2pm

I just texted a host about 30 minutes ago to add some FP and RC to my reservation at CET. The FP and RC only come with the lowest end room. I booked a much nicer room that online booking would not allow the add ons I am requesting. I shall let everyone know how it goes.

My former guy at Planet Hollywood was let go. He was great at getting back to me within hours, even on holidays, but he could never add much to the gumbo as far as offers went. I have had a casino host reach out to me as I am without host and have been 3-4 times this year without anyone assigned. According to them, and it would appear some on this thread, that classifies me as a free agent. I am Diamond Elite right now and despite the obstacles put in place, I have escaped Canada and gambled just enough this year to hit Diamond Plus already. Hopefully someone picks me up! I shall advise.

I was assigned some random dude at Bally’s a few years ago , didn’t even know I had a host but all my surveys asked if I had worked with Shawn whoever, I would continuously say no. Hubby was assigned a lady out of PHo so I asked how I could get her as mine too, made more sense since I’m the one that schedules our trips. She said what I had to do was let her book 3 trips in a row, then send her an email to request the host change and that she would forward my email to her boss. Every survey after she started booking for me and it asked about random Shawn I would answer no it would ask if I was familiar with a host and I would list her name. It took a good 6 months to get changed but it was worth it.

    Happy birthday to me!

If you want to make yourselves miserable, you can either hit your head with a brick or use a host to book a trip.

I also got 2pm check-out a couple of times at CP. No problem.

That's a good description when you're dealing with a host not meeting your expectations. Fortunately, when you have a good host, it makes everything on a trip easier

Im a low level diamond and you find out real quick that hosts can do little more than whatever you can do yourself on the total rewards website. If you can reach them on the phone, they pretty much just read off whatever offers you have on the website. I am told to just email what offer I want to use and he books it for me. The problem is depending on when he reads the email and when he is able to get to it, the particular room I wanted for the offer may not be available anymore. Because of that I generally prefer to book room myself.

I actually recently got a new CET host and he informed me that it benefits him if I book through him. Does anyone know exactly how it benefits the host if I book through them? Ive always wondered how this system works for the hosts.

Yeah, the behavior @fasbman described and the job title both scream inside sales, not a host.

I wouldn't even bother spending any time trying to get them off your account, that level of rep can't do anything for you you can't do yourself, and you'd have to babysit anything you asked them to do anyway.

I always book through a host because I always want an upgraded room from what the online offers give me. My host always gets me a PH Vista fountain view room instead of the small room with a desert view that the online offer gives me. She always adds on my maximum free play offer and dining credit offer. She takes care of my credit line and gets me into clubs. When I take concert offers, she gets me great seats close to front and center. When I used an online offer, my seats were to the side and in the back. She got me casino rate rooms for friends which were a quarter of the regular price. I always text my host, and she always texts me back. She even texts me to ask how I'm doing, and if she can do anything for me. She gets me these gift baskets that I see when I enter the room.

Not sure the same host is going to give every client the same treatment either.
I'm sure someone doing 50K+ of coin in is going to see more hand holding than a 5-10K person and may have higher expectations.
One thing I've wondered is what variety of players hosts have, I'm assuming a mix of levels.

In general, being coded to a host for a trip means that they get credit for your play. That is their end of the deal. if they aren't doing anything for you, then there is little reason to use them.

My only experience with a CET host was a while back. I booked on a comp. She visited with me. I asked if she could help with anything off the bill. She told me that I was way over-comped on the trip and she could not help. I was way over-comped but her attitude turned me off. Never went back. I've only stepped in PHo to see shows and we rarely drop any money there.
