    Awesome report man.

How much was that Escape room? Is it cheaper then ones on the strip?

Do you know of any Escape rooms where you could just go with 2 people and not have randoms join you?

This was $60 plus tax, each. Ive been to escapology (I think) and me and my dad were able to book just for us, but that was 3 years ago. There is one a half mile away from Luxor that seems interesting, called Xterious Escape. Not sure if it's rando-free though.

    Now for some Luxor gripes.

    I really like(d) Luxor. Truly.

But this trip has been different. The room itself is fine (Tower Premium) but:
    1) One of the handles in the bathtub is missing. Not a huge deal, but if you lacked mobility that'd suck.
    2) The bathroom fan doesn't turn on
    3) The room won't get below 72 degrees
    4) The walls are THIN. HOLY CRAP. We've been able to hear every conversation, party, screaming, music, etc. This might just be because the clientele right now are a bit different than usual, though. I think I'm sticking to suites if I'm at Luxor again, I've never had this issue in suite rooms.

    5) This is biggest actual issue. The door to the room doesn't close on it's own. If you walk out and don't force it shut, it won't close and lock. This is a huge security issue, and is how a lot of people's rooms get robbed. I'll probably call security about this before I leave. It's technically a maintenance issue (adjust the door return system) but it's a security problem.

Have you ever been to the escape room in the Forum Shops in Caesar Palace? I did a google and looks like there is one there for about $40 each.

I haven't, that one came up in our search also. I kinda wonder if it will be an actual good escape room experience or just a cash grab, like a lot of things on the strip.

I'm surprised it's cheaper then your one off-strip. My guess is it's exactly like you said and a cash grab and not as good.

The off strip one is licensed by Lionsgate, to use the Saw movie theme. I imagine they have to pay some amount of royalties to cover the costs. Plus they have live actors in the room, so it's not just one or two employees like most escape rooms.

Oh that's awesome. I didn't know that. That's frustrating though you had to deal with random idiots.

It was definitely an experience, not a true escape room. It's actually like 6 mini rooms, with a 10 min timer per room. If you don't solve that room, they just push you through to the next room. So you do get to see everything at least.

But yeah, random idiots, not fun. But the rooms wouldn't be doable with just 2 people.

    Food update:

Walked to Gallaghers for our 7PM reservation. Not a single walkway between Luxor and NYNY was turned on!

I got here early, and won $20 on VP.

My friend is running late, and the NYNY parking garage is closed/full or something? She has to go park at Excalibur, and so have several other people dining here. Crazy.

They won't seat me until she gets here, either. Rude.

We really liked Escape Reality. Not too far from the Orleans. We did two rooms just the wife and I last year. We beat one of the rooms under 30 minutes. We played the Alice room and the AI room. I would go back there.

Eacapeolgy is fine. If you are an enthusiast you will one disappointed. If you casually play escape rooms it will be fine.

Agreed. I enjoyed it, and have certainly done many worse rooms.

This was my 15th or so room, and it definitely had the best themeing.

Gallaghers was excellent as usual. Service was a little slow though, I had to ask for a refill on my drink, twice. (To get one refill)

Other than that, excellent. The cheesecake is the best!

Won a quick $100 on VP at Luxor. Forgot to grab a pic, but was playing double double bonus for nickels, at 20 credits a spin.

Threw away a garbage hand and got dealt four 4s.

Apparently my player card came loose as I was playing though, oops.

Luxor Pyramid Cafe is back to an hour wait, with no priority line. Yayyy.

Skipping that, and just grabbing something at Backstage Deli.

I hope the video poker gods were happy with my $300 offering this morning!

About to head to NYNY for lunch at ChinChin.

Leaving Luxor just in time, the fire alarm is going off.

Do you see any fire or smoke?

Nah, but I was on in the lobby between the walkway between Excalibur and Luxor when it went off. I'm guessing somebody just smoked a bit too much in their room or something.
