I have walked by the location across from the Wynn Spa and Salon often but never stepped in. Not sure if I would do this but I'm curious. I should also say that I'm pretty conservative/not adventurous when it comes to things like this. Heck, I don't even like the idea of drinking a Red Bull (which I've never done) as the concentration of caffeine makes me nervous (though I drink multiple cups of coffee in a day).

I'm going to ask my doc and SIL (a surgical tech) about these kinds of therapies but would love to hear the take from VMBers. I have $1200+ in Wynn Rewards that will likely exceed $2k during the course of my upcoming trip. I don't want to spend that kind of money on just random stuff and don't need it for meals or spa treatments but this is considered (I believe) "retail", which my host can't comp, so I was thinking about a treatment either at the beginning or end of my trip.

Yeah, I'd ask them and also confirm that you can use your comps on there. My general experience with IV drips is that they're great (I get occasional intense nausea from a couple medications I take and wind up insanely dehydrated), but there's a lot of BS in those descriptions. "Decelerates cellular aging" and "Reveal glowing skin and enhance overall complexion with the master antioxidant" jump out at me; there's a lot of stuff in their ingredients list that you can get with $20 worth up supplement pills from CVS.

You're correct re: comps. I just checked and unless it is considered part of the spa/salon, I can't use but I thought I could. https://www.visitwynn.com/documents/COMPDOLLARSredemption.pdf

Maybe it's the shopping promo card that I can use there as I remember this place being on a list.

Agree re: the BS. LOL. Thanks for the info.

    I'm in the medical field.

This stuff is a complete rip off for this purpose. The margins they are charging are pretty insane. Hospitals are able to get bags of IV fluids for a couple of dollars at most (things like normal saline are basically $1).

If you are so dehydrated and nauseous that you can't tolerate oral intake, that's one thing, but to burn nearly a $1k on this stuff in general is not worth it.

Save the IV stuff for when you need it in a medical emergency.

You will get benefit from downing a couple of pedialyte drinks instead.

*taps link to look at prices* Holy ****ing **** that’s ****ing expensive :haha: lol you’d probably get better value asking your host for a hard comp for some supplements at Sprouts or Whole Foods

Thank you!!! This was the kind of frank advice I was seeking. I wasn't sure if it was real, semi quacky, and/or just over priced. Appreciate your and @44inarow's thoughts on this.

Yeah, I was going to say, you'd be better off going to the ER as long as your co-pay isn't insane, mine is about $100 and that includes, uh, actual doctors.

An IV drip is great if your dehydrated, but otherwise, I would get actual medical care rather than overpaying for a place in a casino.
Been there for sure. At a certain point, you probably do need an IV*, and I've had days when I couldn't even keep Pedialyte down, but those prices are absurd. As long as you can keep liquid down, Pedialyte Sparkling Rush is pretty great. Getting a b-vitamin drip is a nice bonus, but you can get that from Amazon pretty readily.

*I am not that kind of doctor and this is not medical advice in any way, shape, or form.

Flowers, I put a post up about this too along with a new cycling class they offer and for some odd reason, it was moved by the moderator to "Shows and Entertainment" so I doubt anyone saw it:whistle:

I did it on a whim at the Cosmo one one day. $200 for an IV and a vitamin infusion of some sort. I got no immediate benefit but later in the day I felt more energized and stayed up very late that night. Not sure if there was any causal relationship. I chalk it up to one of those one-time, "when in Vegas" type things.

Watching me try to do Spincross or whatever it's called would probably be pretty entertaining...

In all seriousness, I think it's a great development that they're expanding onto the Strip. It's not personally my thing, but I have friends who will come here and immediately look for workout classes. One of those examples of Vegas catering to all tastes, which is what this town is all about!
