If you don't like Mirage rooms, sounds like your mind is made up.

I'd recommend Park MGM for location and newer rooms.

I’d take Park MGM over the Mirage these days.

It’s been over a decade since Mirage has refreshed their rooms. It’s time. And those tiny bathrooms at Mirage are just awful. Park’s aren’t much bigger, but at least they are laid out so much better.

As an MLife guy, Mirage is too far away from the other MLife properties for me.

I don't think it was doing great before they decided to give that a go.
They probably should have gutted and enlarged the small rooms. Though the theme and remodel is mostly boring...

My prescription would be to add soundproofing to walls/doors, put in better beds and loosen/add more slots.

My room at Park MGM last January wasn't small, it was just....empty. Not sure how else to describe it. It needed another table & chair, but instead it only had 2 Queens and the window seat. The shower was a good size but the water didn't reach very far back (didn't reach the bench at the other end) so it wasn't super-useful. And I wasn't a huge fan of the bathroom door doubling as the closet door so that you couldn't have a door on both at the same time. It seemed to me like the remodel was done on a budget and it was obvious. There are just certain touches that even NYNY and Luxor have that Park MGM just doesn't.

They spent $600 mil fixing it up (up from an original $450 mil). Not sure where it all went because it wasn't spent on the rooms or the pool.

As a comparison, Palms spent $690 mil on renovations and you could def see where the money went when you step in.

Well that settles it for sure. Was hoping tospeak to someone at the desk but they will straight up send you back to the kiosks I'm not even interested. This is just bad customer service and I'd rather not stay there and encourage MGM properties to expand this check-in process. I'll certainly never be VIP enough to qualify for their personal assistance and if the kiosks are malfunctioning, I bet it's HELL trying to check-in!

I wish I could! I got a 99/night rate that was only good on weekdays and paired it with my comp night for being sterling at the Cosmo. When I called to add my comp night I asked about the prices for Thu/Fri and what I could get comped. They said they could comp Thu but Fri wasn't available and they wanted something north of $400 for that night. I will hang my head in shame and use my myVegas comp, thanks!!! :D:D The first time I ever stayed at the Cosmo they comp upgraded me to a wraparound suite at check-in. It was our first 2 nights of a 6 night trip. The next two nights were at the Wynn, and the last two at the Delano, and while I would have been absolutely THRILLED at either of those two rooms on any other stay, they were incredibly disappointing after that suite! :kill: I'm a Cosmo girl for sure :love:

I was gonna say the same thing @MCOtoLAS in regards to no humans at check in. Not cool. I will not stay there for that reason alone. But, I still liked what I saw from the casino the one time I was in there.

The shared closet/bathroom door is "creative", perhaps part of their budget, I thought it was cute. :)

We had a table and single chair, but it did feel out of place.

I was just at Park MGM last week. Now we stayed at NoMad but I do put the entire property ahead of Mirage. mirage is tired and the past few times we were there, even pre COVID, The drink service sucked. Terrible terrible terrible.

I was impressed with Park's slot selection including in high limit. The bar top VP isn't very good paytable wise, but drinks were fast and plentiful. LOVE Bavettes as an upscale dinner option, I think it is one of the best in the Mlife complex. Eataly is also great!! Tables I only played craps but it was $15 minimum early Saturday AM.

Plus if you are bored at Park you are a hop skip and a jump from NYNY, Aria, even MGM Grand for a change of scenery.

You do not have to check in via kiosk at Park MGM. There are always people working the front desk.

When Park MGM first opened, they were much more kiosk-oriented, but it got a lot of negative feedback and they went to a more human-oriented approach.

This and your prior post NAIL IT. I stayed at park 2 years ago, and though a standard room is more than spacious enough (especially for one person) it felt boring and empty. I actually prefer a non-smoking casino, but the place feels disjointed and not Vegas-like. It has no soul. I'm a larger guy but the bathroom was fine. I Couldn't do the $20 trick with a kiosk, but it was a solo trip and I didn't need to.

    Other Pros for park mgm
    - Bavette's is in the upper third of Vegas Steak joints As far as I'm concerned. An Underrated gem, had an excellent steak there (I'm a steak snob). The sides and apps are standard fare, but the staff is great and it has a good old school atmosphere.
    - Eataly is a good spot that definitely fills a niche (especially for lunch).
    - Basically on-site for T-mobile arena.
    - Table limits are more reasonable than Aria and Cosmo, although that's not saying much.

What Mirage has an advantage on
    - There is something to be said about the vibe of property. Mirage has it. Casino is well laid out and the place has infinitely more soul than park mgm.
    - The pool, easily. But if OP doesn't care as much, then this isn't a big deal.
    - Close proximity to Caesars and V/P. I say this because there's a ton of top tier options as far as food goes at the nearby properties.
These 3 aspects weigh heavily, but ultimately, Mirage doesn't have a single advantage in terms of food inside the property over park mgm. For me, that aspect factors into my decision. Mirage has an advantage on intangible aspects, but those are always subjective.

Also I've stayed at Park MGM many times and enjoy it! The beds and pillows are so comfy, I like the usb outlets near the bed, wish I had a tub instead of a shower but I like the tiles and size of the bathroom. It's not a terrible place to stay.

The check in kiosks are easy to use, and any issues were quickly resolved with a rep.

Not to mention Eataly, slot selection and location.

We think a lot alike! I love Eataly, have yet to try Bavette's, but it's on the list! Half of what I love about the Mirage is its location and the easy access to so many other casinos & food options. And it just feels so....Vegas.

I can see we're on the same wavelength. If I'm staying with a group of people who value a good pool and property vibe, Mirage and I'm not thinking twice. Hell, even a de-themed T.I., where I've stayed twice has way more of a vibe than park mgm. It's a great location if you don't mind a little walking to V/P or Caesars.

Park mgm is truly a definition of "Sum of the parts are greater than the whole". Like, having Eataly and Bavette's is reason enough to visit but it also has a decent pool, as well as Primrose and Best friend as casual food options (not to mention Bruxie a stone's throw of a walk at NYNY for breakfast), pretty good location, and reasonable table limits- you'd think it would be one of the most booked properties in town. Theoretically it should be the ultimate "Value" property but if it was the first place I stayed in my 9 trips, I doubt I would have have had 9 trips at this point. I know when it was the Monte Carlo it never truly had a soul either, but It still felt so much more "Vegas" than the current incarnation.

With that said, Park mgm is still worth checking out and staying if it's not your first trip.

Totally agree, I would never recommend it for someone's first time. The best parts of Park MGM can be visited, staying there is unnecessary. That being said, I have it booked for next April when the NFL Draft comes to town. It was so much cheaper than anywhere else, it's almost unbelievable. I don't expect to be in the hotel room much that weekend, so I'll make it work. But if the price drops enough at NYNY, Mirage, or Flamingo, I'll probably switch to one of those instead. I do like the tram access to Aria & the Bellagio though, now that it's back up & running. That's an extra benefit when you want to get Center Strip relatively quickly.

Only reason i haven't stayed at Mirage. Too far away from other Mlifes if you want to gamble or eat (charge to room).

One weekend when i do a quick Friday night to sunday morning trip, I'm going to try mirage.

Park MGM would be my choice. It has been recently updated, the Eataly food court is fun and their new restaurants have some keepers.

I checked into Park MGM last night. In the past I've stayed often in both king and queen rooms. This king room has features I haven't seen before. Instead of a walk in shower with glass doors, there's a tub/shower combination with a cheap plastic curtain. The shower hardware was loose but it worked. Instead of the sliding door/cubby setup with the safe and minimal clothes storage, there's a wardrobe attached to the wall with mirrored doors. The safe is built into the wall as you enter the room. Staying the same: the long window seat, table and comfy chair.

I love that the hotel is smoke free and of course-- location, location, location! For this VGK fan it's ideal and the price is right. So glad to be back in my happy place going to a Stanley Cup playoff game. Go Knights go!

Love the location for T-Mobile!! Just cross the road after the game/concert, and you are back at the hotel! Altho as stated in my earlier post, I stayed in a NoMad room vs Park room. I do like the Mirage for other reasons and for its location on the strip if I *don't* need to be near the arena. I'm trying to decide now where to stay for my possible fall return to Vegas; I want go back to Mirage, but NoMad is giving me better offers right now, plus the smoke-free Park is also a big plus.
