with masks now effectively being optional in most places across the country, IF you are vaccinated. I always wore lipstick in Vegas when out and about, even under my mask, as I just felt fully dressed with it on and after taking my mask off before enjoying a meal.

I've got QVC on in the background. Tonight is "beauty night" and I bet you they are selling more lip and eye products now than even a few days ago given the change in CDC guidelines. :)

TMI but I a recently spent a boatload of money on crowns. Now I can show off my new pretty white teeth and can enjoy all of the coffee, wine and blueberries I want and not think twice about it! :)

I always wear lipstick under my mask as well. It makes me feel more polished. I love Lipsense because it lasts for hours and doesn’t rub off on the inside of my mask.

Love my lipstick. Even though I had to wear a mask you can be assured lipstick was still applied. After all...we do need to pull that mask down to eat AND drink

Then I've gotta get me some lipstick . . . oh wait, I'm a guy who doesn't wear lipstick. Fake eyelashes and mascara maybe . . . .

As far as cosmetics and personal care items, this is one area in which I've really saved over the past year or so, as in a semi-silver-lining in the Covid cloud. Things that I would use up and run out of in weeks lasted for MONTHS!

I just found out that the Bare Minerals in the mall close to where I live did not survive the pandemic. :( I guess it's Sephora for the higher-end stuff as I get more and more out again.

So? Does this mean that lipstick is the new toilet paper? :)

Sephora's tapping my phone like "Ummm, hello? You out there, or...?" That's ok - I made up for what I saved on lipstick and lipgloss on skincare. But then there was that Pat McGrath sale :ssst:

I was only putting makeup on the top half of my face since I had to wear a mask all day at work. So happy to be doing a full face again. You can bet I’ll be bringing my funky colors to Vegas this summer!

I hate it when I pick up an Aria mask after my wife grabs one...somehow I always get the one with her makeup on it. Then both of them are shot.

First world problems...but glad to see most people come out of masks. Some probably should wear them longer. Someone might also say that about me!

    That's all...happy shopping!!

Does lipstick go bad? Curious as I would assume women who wear makeup have a whole bunch of tubes collecting dust.

Didn’t survive WestTowne Madison either. Obviously I’m not going to get any in Omaha then next month. Once I find something I like from them I have no issue buying from eBay etc. But the new stuff, color shades & what works well together I always wanted to see at the store.

The shelf life can be pretty long, as long as it is kept out of the heat and sunlight and particularly if it was never opened as it is opening of and using of them when bacteria hits that's the issue. During my high-stress-dealing-with-Covid-anxiety period last March through May, I bought a lot of beauty products, including some lip products, from QVC and HSN. And I was so OCD I was one of those folks that sprayed all packages with Lysol and then let them dry before opening. Anywho, 95% of what I bought last year is still unopened . . . . Lip products will be good for a solid year IMO once I open them but for tubes of shades I like a lot I wind up using most of it within a year anyway.

Heat and air will cause cosmetics, particularly traditional wax lipstick, to spoil. If kept reasonably cool and dry, it will last many months to a few years. Liquids will last a long time if not opened. Powders will last a very long time.

Liquid and gel eye products are particularly notorious for going bad (bacteria) and resulting in some nasty infections.

I assume you're visiting to do the casinos. The Sephora in the JCP shop on south 24th, about a 5 minute drive from the Horseshoe , carries many of the popular Bare Minerals items, such as the powder foundation, the Mineral Veil powder, the Prime Time primer and such. The Ulta shop in Metro Crossing, about a 15 minute drive from the casinos, also carries some of the Bare Minerals line. (Or, used to, before the Covid hit the fan, haven't been there in well over a year.)

Oh, just remembered (duh!) they say (the ubiquitous "they") that the Bare Minerals shop in the Westroads Mall is still open. I seldom shop at Westroads even though I zoom by there every day. This is in central-west Omaha just east of the I-680/Dodge Expressway junction.

I’m not sure I’ll remember how to apply make up whenever we Canadians are allowed to leave our homes. I think I’ve worn it a handful of times since March 2020. Pre Covid I wore it almost daily. Perhaps I should start practicing.

LOL, I'm not out of practice, as I've been going in at least a few times a week for over 6 months now, and doing maybe one food/drug/shopping outing a week or so (plus lately, dropping in to the casino) but I have not done any serious mall or department store shopping (and no, the occasional drop-in to Wally World or Target' does not count) for anything for over a year. I've just been picking up what I need at Walgreens/CVS or even the supermarket.

One thing I realized is that I'm saving a LOT of $$$$$! My spending on entertainment and toys and clothes and such has been close to zero this past year! Personal travel has been ZERO since February of 2020.

Just bought a new tube today. First time since March, 2020. I’ve been wearing some when I go for my daily walk. Masks were never required outside, unless in crowds. Probably don’t pass half a dozen people. It does make me feel a little better.

The other day I slathered on some Vaseline on my lips. It brought back memories of the the 60s when we wore pale, almost white lipstick. There’s a look that had better not come back.

Every fashion trend will eventually come back.

... Except for bright blue eyeshadow, that is, and even that may eventually return. :)
