I'm staring a new sticky for collecting all the new information about the guidelines from the different casinos for masks.

Yesterday, Thursday May 13th, the CDC announced that vaccinated individuals no longer need to wear a mask indoors or outdoors, except in certain situations.

Casino Companies who have released new Mask Guidance:

    THE STRIP:

CET - Guests and Employees who are fully vaccinated are not required to wear masks.

Cosmopolitan - Guests and Employees who are fully vaccinated are not required to wear masks.

MGM Resorts - Guests and Employees who are fully vaccinated are not required to wear masks.

TI - Guests and Employees who are fully vaccinated are not required to wear masks.

Venetian/Palazzo - Fully vaccinated guests are not required to wear masks. Employees, even vaccinated employees, will continue to wear masks for now.

Virgin - Fully vaccinated guests are not required to wear masks. Employees, even vaccinated employees, will continue to wear masks for now.

Wynn/Encore - Guests and Employees who are fully vaccinated are not required to wear masks.

    DOWNTOWN:

California/Boyd - Fully vaccinated guests will not be required to wear masks.

Circa/The D - Fully vaccinated guests are not required to wear masks. Employees, even vaccinated employees, will continue to wear masks for now.

ElCortez - @Headache reports - Plexiglass is still up, but masks are not required for vaccinated guests or employees.

Four Queens - Fully vaccinated guest are not required to wear masks.

Fremont - @Ty reports a host texts "If you are vaccinated, no mask required" with no further guidance.

Golden Nugget - Fully vaccinated guests are not required to wear masks.

How will they verify people are fully vaccinated? - They are not going to require proof of vaccination. It is the "honor system". Please don't abuse it. If you're not fully vaccinated (ie, 2 weeks out from your second dose of mRNA vaccines, or after the one dose of Jansen) you remain at high risk and should continue to wear masks.

    https://www.cdcgamingreports.com/nevada-gaming-regulators-vaccinated-casino-patrons-and-workers-no-longer-required-to-wear-masks/

Nevada gaming regulators will allow casinos to decide their own mask policies after the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention on Thursday said individuals fully vaccinated against COVID-19 could resume activities without wearing facial coverings in indoor or outdoor settings.

In a statement, the Control Board said it followed the decision by Gov. Steve Sisolak, who aligned the state earlier this month with all CDC recommendations on mask usage, including any subsequent advice.

“The updated guidance on masks issued today by the CDC is effective immediately in Nevada,” Sisolak said.

Late Thursday afternoon, however, following the CDC’s announcement and Sisolak’s decision, Control Board Chairman Brin Gibson said in a statement that the agency’s “position regarding mask requirements for indoor and outdoor gaming floor areas would follow” the governor’s decision.

However, the Control Board said casino operators “may have mask policies that are more restrictive than the CDC guidance.” Regulators suggested casino employees “consult with their employers regarding workplace COVID-19 safety protocols.”

The Control Board is leaving the decision up to gaming operators if they wish to confirm a customer’s vaccination status. Casinos, however, are encouraged to post signage with the latest CDC mask guidance for vaccinated and unvaccinated guests.

The CDC recommended people who have not been vaccinated against COVID-19 continue to wear masks.

    MGM Resorts:

    https://www.cdcgamingreports.com/vaccinated-customers-can-remove-their-masks-at-mgms-strip-resorts-but-not-employees/

MGM Resorts International told its customers who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 they could remove their masks starting Friday.

But employees of the company’s nine Strip resorts have to wait.

In a letter posted Friday morning, MGM Resorts CEO Bill Hornbuckle said the company’s workforce, even those fully vaccinated, are still required to wear masks while on property.

“We hope to announce updates to this policy soon,” Hornbuckle said.

The move comes a day after Nevada gaming regulators allowed casinos to decide their own mask policies after the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention on Thursday said individuals fully vaccinated against COVID-19 could resume activities without wearing facial coverings in indoor or outdoor settings.

“We will no longer require fully vaccinated guests to wear masks at any of our Las Vegas properties,” Hornbuckle said.

Fully vaccinated guests and employees at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas can now forego masking.

The Strip property’s new masking policy went into effect on Thursday. Guests and employees not considered to be fully vaccinated by standards set by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention will be required to wear face coverings “until further notice,” according to a Friday statement.

Please send me info on other properties if you find it. I'm especially looking for Downtown, but all the casinos missing from my list.

@Flowers just shared this bit from a confirmation email from Venetian:

    ---------------
    Important Notices:
    • Face Mask Policy
      • The State of Nevada requires unvaccinated individuals to wear face coverings or masks.
      • In line with CDC guidance, fully vaccinated guests are not required to wear a mask. By not wearing a mask, you certify that you are fully vaccinated and that other guests in the area can rely on that as a truthful statement.
    • Pool seating has been arranged to allow for physical distancing. Space is limited and availability is not guaranteed.
    • Restaurant Reservations Recommended
      • Please visit venetian.com or call 844.219.1026 to reserve.
      • Seating has been arranged to allow for physical distancing and state-mandated capacity limits. Space is limited and availability is not guaranteed.
    • We ask that all Table and Card Game players and spectators refrain from smoking or vaping.
    ---------------

I am not a lawyer, but this bit jumped out at me.

By not wearing a mask, you certify that you are fully vaccinated and that other guests in the area can rely on that as a truthful statement.

I'm not sure what that means exactly, because I assume the people who didn't want to wear a mask before the vaccines are definitely not going to wear them now that nobody is checking and enforcing mask usage.

    Golden Nugget Update from @SoCalMon:

Just checked my email and my host from the golden nugget sent us an email saying no masks required for fully vaccinated guests also. I am copying and pasting what she wrote...

"I just wanted to provide a quick update on Las Vegas and The Golden Nugget. Effective Immediately, the CDC and the State of Nevada have lifted the indoor and outdoor face covering requirement for all fully vaccinated guests. Masks are no longer required here at the Golden Nugget. That being said, if you still prefer to wear a face covering, you are welcome to do so. It is now your choice. The Hotel will assume that anyone not wearing a face covering is fully vaccinated and will not require any additional proof."

MGM Resorts updated their policy this morning to allow fully vaccinated employees the option to not wear masks.

I have also heard that there are some retail locations that are still requiring masks to be worn. Probably best to keep one in your pocket as you are wandering.

The report was from Miracle Mile, some shops turning away unmasked patrons and the ABC Market wouldn't check out someone without a mask.
