I’m curious how as a guest I will have to prove this or even if I have to? I hope I can just say yes I’ve been vaccinated. Which is a true statement. But I would be willing to show the card.

Having just returned from 4 nights at MGM Grand, the yellow shirt security guards were hardly enforcing mask wearing anymore anyways. I saw plenty of maskless people walking around and the security guards totally ignored them.

Anyway, can’t wait to go back Memorial Day weekend!

I was there recently at a time where i believe the percentage of fully vaccinated Americans was at 30 percent... The percentage of people walking outside without wearing masks were probably in the high 80s. So maybe the honor system doesn't work too well, or maybe a lot of vaccinated people are going on a vacation that could be true too... It's just something i noticed.

At check in tonight at Planet Hollywood they said they didn't know if anything would change and, yes, masks were still required as of Thursday night, but that they everything could change by tomorrow. They just don't know yet.

I appreciate the informative posts, especially from people in town now. I have asked people to keep the nonsense out of here, but it has been a moderation nightmare... again.

I am constantly left with no option but to close these threads to comments. I can try one more time, but you have to help me here too. Please.

The CDC Gaming article I posted earlier has been updated to include...

I am still looking for updates from other casinos, but it sounds like it will be the "honor system" for masks. If you aren't vaccinated, you should be wearing one, but they aren't going to require any proof. I would expect the other casinos to follow soon with similar guidance. I will post what I find here, when I have something.

For those who have read the COVID Sticky, you have seen lots of good evidence the vaccines are working. This is great news and the end of masks was always inevitable. I think many of us expected it to be more gradual, but it sounds like it is here. :)

TSA and some other agencies still will be talking with CDC, etc and I expect we will get more guidance and changes over the next several days.

Hopefully we can keep this thread a place for information as things continue to change.

Checked into Encore tonight at 7:30. Bellman told me that Wynn and Encore are following cdc guidelines as of 6:00pm (mask free). Signs requiring masks have been removed. I would say it is about 10% Mask, 90% no mask.
Masks at Palazzo, Mirage, and Treasure Island were required and strictly enforced. Nobody has asked to see my Vaccination record (Wynn or others).

If new information comes out specifically on masks in casinos, we will add the information.

MGM will allow vaccinated guests to not wear masks

This policy sounds like it is still a work in progress.

    https://www.cdcgamingreports.com/vaccinated-customers-can-remove-their-masks-at-mgms-strip-resorts-but-not-employees/

MGM Resorts International told its customers who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 they could remove their masks starting Friday.

But employees of the company’s nine Strip resorts have to wait.

In a letter posted Friday morning, MGM Resorts CEO Bill Hornbuckle said the company’s workforce, even those fully vaccinated, are still required to wear masks while on property.

“We hope to announce updates to this policy soon,” Hornbuckle said.

The move comes a day after Nevada gaming regulators allowed casinos to decide their own mask policies after the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention on Thursday said individuals fully vaccinated against COVID-19 could resume activities without wearing facial coverings in indoor or outdoor settings.

“We will no longer require fully vaccinated guests to wear masks at any of our Las Vegas properties,” Hornbuckle said.

    Cosmopolitan

    https://www.reviewjournal.com/business/casinos-gaming/the-cosmopolitan-of-las-vegas-announces-new-mask-policy-2354266/

Fully vaccinated guests and employees at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas can now forego masking.

The Strip property’s new masking policy went into effect on Thursday. Guests and employees not considered to be fully vaccinated by standards set by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention will be required to wear face coverings “until further notice,” according to a Friday statement.

Wynn caesars and a few others no longer require masks and all casinos have opened to 100% capacity
