So I became CET Platinum in early February, and Diamond a few weeks ago. I went to AC this past weekend and since I was Diamond I decided to sign up for the new Ballys Rewards card since I had seen informal chatter about status matching.

The rep there was not the least bit interested in seeing my Caesars Diamond card and just took my driver's license. After a minute she asked when I earned my Diamond status. When I said "last month" she mumbled something and proceeded to create my account, set up my PIN, etc. Then she handed me my new Ballys card...a gold card. Turns out you only get your status matched if you had status from before Caesars sold off Ballys (apparently they have access to that information).

So just an FYI for everyone.

I'd be surprised if this was a real status match. Did you happen to check your points on that card after you got it? I'm guessing it was the number of points you had on their sale date.

What it sound is any tier points active on the sale date is what they are going by and are are giving out cards that match that level.

If I remember correctly, TI did something similar when they switched from MGM years ago. The points on the card (and card number) remained the same even though it was a different program.

Ahh, that's interesting. Yeah sounds like that TI/MGM thing might be what happened here. I'd be interested if anyone else here can share their experiences with the new Ballys card to confirm. I honestly threw away the gold card at the nearest trash can (I'll never stay/play enough at Ballys AC to make that worthwhile) but out of curiosity next time I'll get a reprinted card and check my points.

I've been Diamond at the minimum with CET since like 2011 (7* now), and I went to Ballys to see if they matched. They scanned my card and said since I'd never played at Bally's, I didn't show up in the system so no match for me.

I got a call from a Bally's AC host a few weeks ago, and she offered me a Red Card based on my previous CET play in AC. She clearly had access to my records from previous Bally's AC play. She even put comp credit on the new card because of previous play, which is something I've never had happen with a tier match. I've also gotten fliers from the new Bally's AC with higher levels of free play than I ever got from Bally's AC when it was a CET property. I haven't been there yet to see what games are available or what kind of shape the casino is in, but they're certainly making me feel welcome. Caesars AC, on the other hand, doesn't seem to remember I exist.
