Another trip DT- the D 3 nights 5/3 - 5/6

Well I wasnt going to do a TR this time because while my last one started strong I got super drunk the last day and forgot to ever close it out. I actually passed out packing my bags to return home - and had plans to go get lit with a couple other VMBer’s. Sadly none of this transpired and I was awoken around 4 am when the limo driver called several times to make sure he was at the right entrance (the polite way of saying ‘where the F are you?’). First time I’ve ever tipped a driver twice. Once when I got there as a thanks for waiting and again at the airport. That really improved his (well earned) annoyance with me!

Anyway, I figured I’d stay low-key this time because if there’s one thing my TR’s have taught its this - I Vegas too hard to make plans. I of course know this about myself but I’m also a socialized and so would love to meet up with you all.

But as I was preparing for Vegas it just didn’t feel right not doing a TR. So here it is. Another Fuzzy DT trip report full of lots of booze, sports bets, VP and craps. Along with cheap eats (I have $170 in comps/food credits for the Circa properties - so you can expect a lot of PIzza Rock, Project BBQ, Le Thai, maybe American Coney (if I’m really drunk) - and then McD’s / White Castle / Noble Romans, etc.). If I have a more sober night I’m considering take out from Andiamo but we will see.

I’m hoping to mainly make this pic-heavy with less words (despite this very wordy initial post)!

Here’s the plan:
Travel: 6 am out of Dayton (wake up at 4 to try and get to the airport in time for a drink or two at Max & Ermas). First class on AA - thanks to points. Flying through DFW and arriving in Vegas at approx 9:45 am PST. Return leg is out of Vegas at 7 am on Delta (coach) through DTW arriving back in Dayton at 4pm. So I have essentially three full days.

Stay: 3 comp nights at the D. I’m finally doing what I threaten to do every trip since moving DT and breaking up with the DTG. Curt has been amazing. The suites are really lovely, but I can’t get over no weekday table games and the lack of a true sports book/VP bar. I’m sure I’ll still pop in as I have a really good 2-day offer for $200 FP each day with no stay. And if they have opened craps up midweek again I’ll definitely shoot dice, but this trip is the first all-in with the Stevens properties. I contacted my host to try and get Circa, and she could get me a pretty low rate but I haven’t paid for Vegas sine my first trip so I wasn’t about to now. She offered me an “upgraded” room at the D - no idea what that means - and a limo ride as well. So I’m there all 3 nights. And no, I’m not “Legend” or whatever gets the limo, I’m either high gambler or just hit maverick on my last trip. So not a huge player for them, but the limo might be a result of arriving super early when demand is low.

Plans: Other than hitting up Mega Bar or Long Bar for the UEFA CL games Tues/Wed I have no real plans. I’m a big craps player, sports bettor and VP player - and a huge drinker. So that’s what to expect here.

I need to go get some stuff done (non Vegas related) now. But will post pictures later!! Vegas in less than 24 hours!!!

Coney Island is great IMHO. Eat there at least twice. We are going to use our D comps to try the BBQ food truck and maybe Eureka this time. Pizza Rock at least twice.

I’m backing off my Stevens play this time. Barely gave them any play in 2020 because their tables were much higher than Binions. Binions got all of my craps play last year. GG was my boo, but we broke up. Stevens seems to be building a premium into all his properties.

In case anyone wants to know, here’s how this TR report ends: Fuzzy gets plastered, has a helluva heater on the craps table, retires to a tropical island, and forgets to tell us until his next trip to Vegas!

I want that same dealer to hear it again, and often.

 

Oh yeah, first thing I did when I saw the 6 am flight was see what time the airport bar opened (right now DAY only has one open at Max and Ermas, ordinarily there are 5-6). There's just something about that pre-flight drink that really makes me realize I'm on vacation!

Stevens has been getting more of my play, but I agree the offers are proportionately worse. I couldn't handle Binions/QQQQ last time becasue of the plexiglass dividers - I felt too much like a caged animal (and I'm a bigger guy, so I don't fit neatly in there).

Sounds like a great way for this to end!!!

Boarded!!

This morning was an adventure. Was up plenty early due to having a dream I overslept. Then went to leave. Couldn't find keys. Turns out wife accidently put them in her purse after errands yesterday
We were both tearing house apart.

Get to dayton at 500, still plenty of time to breeze in and get a drink based on recent experiences.

That was a mistake. This is a long line by comparison.



Get through at 530 when boarding starts. Just time enough to get a Gatorade and make it a double shot.



Oh, and turns out the airport never updated house. Max was closed anyway.



Let's hope this flight is better.

Airport lines are such a pain buy they are so synonymous with a Vegas trip with me now, the photos have me itching for my trip. Have a great trip! Don't forget about us!
