    My Trip Report

Currently sitting in the Denver airport having my first beer of the trip, Squatters Hop Rising DIPA. Easy flight out from Cleveland with a 2 hour layover in Denver. Heading out for 4 nights at Golden Gate. My normal haunt is MSS so this will be something new.

Will mostly be video poker and some BJ. Craps is probably too rich for my bankroll at $10+ tables. Have some restaurants planned, nothing fancy though except maybe a stop at Bazaar Meats for the Bar Cento menu. I will spend a day, probably tomorrow, in the Arts District hitting as many breweries as I can. Probably will also spend an afternoon at Jerry's Nugget and an evening at Ellis Island.

Should be a fun and hot trip! I will update as often as I can and/or remember. Much easier to pack 5 days in a backpack when it's only shorts and t-shirts. And a cat who couldn't care less.

    Cheers!

Sounds similar to my upcoming trip in late June. Please share any table games info from Jerry’s that you discover. I’m pretty pumped to spend some time there.

Beer #2. Odell 90 Shilling. Weird rules here. Asked to have it in a to go cup as I probably will walk with it. Tried to drink some at the bar in the to go cup but was told the to go cup had to go. Had to pour some in a regular glass if I was drinking here. Bureaucracy at its finest. 20210501_125028.jpg

Good luck! Head over to Ellis Island for $5 craps! That might be in your bankroll! Or a quick cab to South Point!

He's pretty much the best cat ever. My wife calls him free therapy because he is a snuggle machine. His brother is a bit of a diva though. 20201201_164914.jpg 20201217_215236.jpg

We have 2 black and white cats and my only concern with going to Vegas next week is that they will be ok....crazy I know.
Killick/male cuddles me every night, and Daisy/female is next to my wife. Sick, I know.

Have a great trip! If you see any $5 craps downtown, please pass it along. Good luck!

One night at the Gambling Hall...
    ...followed by two nights downtown

As others have said, would really be interested in, now that capacities have been relaxed as of today, how many players are now allowed at the tables (both craps and blackjack) at the various downtown casinos, as well as the minimums, particularly during the weekdays (which will encompass much of your trip).

Looking forward to lots of pictures. Love me some Golden Gate.

I think my cats are starting to figure out what it means when I start packing a bag. They do everything they can to interfere with packing.

In room now. Took CX downtown. $2 and easy, if not a bit time consuming. Downtown is busy. I walked outside Circa about an hour after the Kentucky Derby and that area of Fremont was packed. There are barriers, metal detectors and security all over Fremont, but none seem to be doing anything.

My room is...small. Like comically small. And my view is of HVAC equipment. Heading out now to find some food.

Yes, welcome to The Golden Gate. The bed is good and I stay here on weekend nights that I can't get free elsewhere.

Enjoy from a fellow Buckeye (Dayton area)! I will be at GG craps tables a lot starting Monday. I'd say we can shoot dice together, but if there's one thing I've learned since doing TRs is I am absolutely terrible at meeting people. I get drunk, tired, forget to check phone or just get sidetracked. So no promises, but if you see a Dayton Flyers hat around its likely me. Best of luck!!!

Dinner at Saginaw's Deli at Circa. Good sammich. Not $20 good though. Walked through Circa and wandered up to Stadium Swim. Very cool. The escalator to get there is something to behold. Craps at Circa was $25. BJ too. Carney games were $15. Busy but nothing I would call crowded.

Now at GG playing The D linked BP progressives.

Got fleeced on some DDB at 4Q. Got an IPA out of it though. Moved down to the floor and played some '6/9' JOB. Held my own on a $20 for a while but eventually walked empty handed. Redeemed a LVA coupon for $10 in FP and turned it in to $23.50.

Now at Banger Brewing having a couple drinks. Fremont is busy!

GG table games are all $15 and up including craps and BJ. 4Q tables were $10 and up including craps.

I would say masks on Fremont are 50% at best. Inside the casinos maybe 75% and I'm yet to see any staff member tell someone to pull it up or put one on.

Sigh...I am always amazed and appalled at the number of strollers on Fremont at an inappropriate time. I'll get off my soapbox now.

After Banger, got 2 $25 match plays at the D. Richard Wilk and LVA. Played both at BJ. Lost first one even though I was dealt twenty. Dealer flipped BJ. Hit a BJ with my 2nd. Sigma Derby is still closed too. 20210501_222758.jpg

Back to GG. Played $15 BJ. Used LVA coupon for $25 MP. Lost and quickly lost my buy in. Dealer had 3 BJ in a row. That's a bad table. Called it night around 11:30.

Only hit 2 4oak on VP. Overall ended the night down about $100.

Today is most likely a brewery walkabout in the Arts District.

I’m thinking about doing that next trip...a walk around the Arts District. Let us know what bars you liked and which you didn’t.
