I expect they are right for the 2nd half of 2021. There is still lots of pent up demand and as more vaccines are given out more people will feel safe going out to areas with large amounts of people.
I have my doubts that 2022 will be "Great" The pent up demand will be gone so it will be back to the regular volume of vacationers and while I do expect conventions to return.. I just don't see how they would be back to "great levels" before the summer 2022.

    I hope I am wrong.

I think the key for a good 2022 will be the return of convention business. I don't see that segment returning to what it was completely, but they'll still bring in lots of bodies. Couple that with the tourist numbers and they should be in half decent shape.

I'm still kind of skeptical about 2021. Things may be on the uptick right now, but, if over the next several weeks or month or two, vaccinations start to stall, or cases continue to rise, I bet we start seeing restrictions and shut downs coming back. I hope that's not the case, because I am ready to go!!

No word if the CES will be held in January 2022. But I did see a few minute thing on the new lvcc halls. Looks big and it will probably be able to hold the whole CES at lvcc so maybe no need to use the sands hall for the convention.

As for 2021, since Boyd won't be starting charters from Honolulu until September I don't expect the second half of 2021 to be that great for the boyd properties. Maybe 2022 won't be that great either. But this is mostly because the older Hawaii crowd is still wary about covid and the variants so many won't be travelling until they feel more comfortable that we are over the virus.

    Why not feel optimistic!!!

More and more are beginning to travel. The borders will eventually reopen with other countries. Throw in conventions....

You have the makings of a very busy LV.

Restrictions and shut downs are not coming back. We are doing a great job now. The governor is looking at how many get vaccinated, hospitalization # and other things now, not just the case numbers alone. This is exactly what California is doing and we are doing great. We have good vaccines (moderna and Pfizer) and is going to take probably til at least summer before everyone is vaccinated. I believe we will have a big 2nd half of 2021 and a great 2022.

Not a chance. This genie has been let out of the bottle, for better or for worse.

I have two trips planned in the next few months, it will definitely be different than when I went a lot during the pandemic. I think I prefer the smaller crowds!

Yes, California is doing great, i have had my first shot with my second shot May 8th. I plan on going to Vegas in the 2nd half of 2021.
However, Vegas has visitors from all over the world, where there are still countries and states that have an increase in hospitalizations and deaths (look at India), so i am cautiously optimistic that we will eventually get back to normal.
I would rather be safe than sorry for the next couple of months, of course i say that because i am over 60 and had open heart surgery in 2016, so i have to be careful being around crowds of people and not knowing whether they have been vaccinated or are still carrying the virus or whatever.

Obviously everyone is optimistic, or wants to be.
Just remember that the vaccine does not make one invincible, not all 50 states have been on the same page (YMMV), and we still have 2 big summer holidays coming up where things could go off the rails.

Based on what I've seen in Vegas my last couple of trips, it will definitely be less enjoyable if The Strip or Downtown gets super nuts. No thank you.

It's all a "wait and see" at this point. We're still making it through the year.

We just have to play it by ear and hope for the best. My next trip is on my birthday on end of May (May 31st).

Have a Happy Birthday and look forward to hearing about your trip. I'm either going just before Labor Day or just before Thanksgiving. Mainly because it's the cheapest at Bally's and there will be less crowds.......LOL.

I have become spoiled taking pandemic trips. Not all venues were open but I felt like I had private casinos. I could play anything at any time and had fabulous offers and service.

My fear is once things really pick up they will forget my loyalty and my offers will drop as occupancy increases. I am not looking forward to waiting for machines/seats and crowded casinos, restaurants and streets. My only consolation is that most of the time I can stay on eastern time and am able to spend time in the casino during the slower early mornings.

Not looking forward to offers dropping off. Mlife keeps showing me LOTS of love and we are taking advantage. Way too many crowds IMO a few weeks ago when we went in April, made me miss the emptyness of December LOL. Heading back next month not sure when thereafter who knows. We will take advantage of Mlife comps as long as they come and try to preserve offers at Wynn
