Congrats on the HP, you can always count on Dailun to come through with a trip report.

Just a heads up 28,000 TC is equal to 2,800 slot points, which is equal to $28 express comps and $28 point play that can be converted to express comps. So, you would have a total of $56 dollars in express comps. I’m sure you know this, but it just seems a little low to cover steak at Gallagher’s but I realize that you may have other resort credits etc and such. Anywho, just sayin..’ and have a great trip

I totally believe it, because the best I've ever got on that game was about 120:1 and it was a line hit with progressives. One day I'll get the bonus and presume I'll be able to retire!

I should have explained a little better. My host "owes" me a comp at Gallagher's, but I would feel a little sheepish in asking for a $300 comp putting in very little play.

re: the part I manually put in bold -- not anymore. It's now $1 of Express Comps for every $36 of theo from non-specialty slots, or $1 EC for every $72 of theo from specialty slots (like the * Link games or anything with a major brand on it like Wheel of Fortune). Presuming 10% hold on non-specialty slots, I would expect $8400 of slot coin-in to generate about $23 of Express Comps. The back end comp value from that much play is about $250 -- which is why $300 for dinner is legitimately within range.

Thanks for the intel on the rental car center.

After reading that, I was gonna just cancel my res to pick up at the center, but I also decided to check again for the price to pick up and drop off at Cosmo and the price had dropped by half over the last couple days.

So now cab to Cosmo + new rental price = same as what I was gonna pay to pick up at the airport. And no hassle.

This is good info about the change in accumulation of express comps, it looks like it has gotten worse.

Careful about the assumption of what warrants back end comp there my friend, cause as we have long since figured out, that any backend comps presume you “played” enough to cover current comps received, which can be a slippery slope as we don’t know exactly the comp value of rooms and other components of an offer we come in on. Depending on the property like Aria, I’ve had a hard no from casino host even with multiples of that play so it depends on host discretion and where you are staying.

    • Someone posted earlier. Catching grief from the pit at the D for using excessive #’s of match play chips. Ty and I had 14 each and had them on the table when buying in and no one batted an eye :popcorn:until we cashed out winner$. :headbang: :wiggle: Be interesting to see :hmmm: how you do with yours.

Well, that'll have to wait until tonight after dinner. I have to go to the D to deliver a present to an FGF. I may play $500 worth tonight and see how it goes.

Well, this morning I got up at 6AM and decided to get Laughlin "out of the way". I mis-read a promotion that was running Mon-Thursday, so my 1000 pint at the Rivverside was for naught.

    Laughlin was . . just a casino. I spent about $400.

BFF arrived and I arranged to meet him at Jerry's Nugget for lunch. With the knowledge that we're eating at Gallagher's tonight. I opted for a French Dip sandwich.
    upload_2021-4-25_15-41-57.png
with the military discount and Dining credit it ended up being about $6.50 for the sandwich and club soda. I tipped the waitress $5.00. I went back outside and playing less than maximum bet (but still $4.00 a pill, I made back $250 on a Dragon's Law Rapid Fever machine.

BFF and I split up, and we will meet at Gallagher's for 6:30 dinner.

So, I went over to Cosmopolitan to find "Crazy Rich Asians". There are two machines to the right of the escalator in the front of the Cosmo. Both were occupied, so I (im)patiently sat and waited. One of the machines wasn't accepting bills, and a guy was sitting at it. The other machine had a guy sitting at it.

Finally the machine became free, and I sat down to it:
    upload_2021-4-25_15-54-52.png
I got two of the Ken Jeong bonuses, and one Akwafina bonus, and triggered the Diamond bonus a couple of times, only getting the Mini ($15-30 bonus). I was only playing $5.00 a pull (the maximum was $10). Finally, I got the three Emerald bonus (with 4 emeralds)
    upload_2021-4-25_15-57-14.png
In the bonus game, I ended up getting this one, and the total brought me back to even (+ or - $40) at Cosmopolitan. It paid about $400 and I inched my way closer to Gold level, now being a $60 meal (311 points shy).

Stopped at the store to buy presents for Balikbayan boxes for my two FGFs in the Philippines. From the wiki

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Balikbayan_box

"A balikbayan box (lit. 'repatriate box') is a corrugated box containing items sent by overseas Filipinos (known as "balikbayans").

Note that I am not Filipino and NOT related to the recipients. Neither of the recipients have relatives working overseas, but I thought that it would be nice to send my FGFs "something".

Anyway, I found the smallest Balikbayan box and will pack it full of tchotchkes for my two FGFs.

That being done, I came back to the room to update my TR and maybe take a short nap before dinner.

Interesting... the mini jackpot at Excalibur & Mandalay was $10 when I played-I guess thinking about it, it rises with bet level? I usually bet min or just above.

    Hope dinner is great!

Following along and enjoying your TR and pics. I was keeping an eye open for the new Spartacus slot a few weeks ago. Just as well I did not find it.

It does, but I noticed the increase didnt coincide specifically with bet, like doubling my bet didnt double the jackpot. That one is really small for a $5 bet though. I won it at Excalibur at 3.75 for $39 and change and I think it reset to 18, something like that

OK, so here was dinner. I screwed up the time and our reservation was actually at 6PM instead of 6:30.

    We were seated at 6:15.

At 5:30, I hit $524.00 on a $5.88 bet on Dancing Drums Explosion I got the Gold Drum in the bonus game

So, counting making $30 on $75 FP at the D, I was only down $200-$400 for the day. Not bad after a poor start.

OK, so back to dinner. It was BFF, BFF's friend and local friend Jason.

I ordered Oysters Rockefeller which BFF "refused" to eat. "I'm a raw oyster kind of guy", he said.

    I ordered the 16 oz. bone-in filet.
    upload_2021-4-25_22-42-51.png
    BFF ordered the Prime Rib
    upload_2021-4-25_22-43-29.png
BFF's friend ordered the Cowboy ribeye
    upload_2021-4-25_22-45-19.png
    Jason ordered the NY strip
    upload_2021-4-25_22-45-55.png
Four sides were ordered for the table:
Colossal Potato (it didn't seem THAT big), Garlic Fries (no Parmesan), Mushrooms, and Brussel Sprouts
    upload_2021-4-25_22-47-19.png
Here's my steak. I would have to rate this third out of Bavette's, and Old Homestead. Although flavorful and tender, it seemed a little "dry". I did order it Medium Rare and should have probably ordered it rare.
    upload_2021-4-25_22-48-42.png
For dessert, we had Scotch Pudding
    upload_2021-4-25_22-49-25.png
    and cheesecake
    upload_2021-4-25_22-49-50.png
The bill came to just under $330 for the table. I charged it to my room
Sated, I rolled in to my car with BFF and his friend. I dropped them off at BFFs car in Miracle Mile garage. BFF pointed out that every other floor was closed off, which made the garage look really strange.

I went down to the D to deliver my gift to a now "ex-FGF". She told me that she had a boyfriend, and I told her "Well, I'm not a homewrecker, and I won't bother you anymore. If you situation changes, you know where to find me . . . ". Makes life a lot easier to "cull the herd".

I also got clarification from the Player's Club desk at the D. There is officially no penalty/limitation on the amount of Match Play chips that you can use.

I went back to NYNY and today I was down a little less than $400, thanks to the comebacks. Didn't put in a lot of points at mLife today. Will need to make it up tomorrow.

Time to go to sleep. The Manhattan Express roller coaster was shut down for high winds today but is back up and running tonight. I can hear it, but it is not exceptionally loud. It might bother someone with "rabbit ears".

See you tomorrow. May drive to Pahrump or Mesquite in the morning
