Last full day :( - and it's another pool day!!! Me and my new Okie BFF are gonna float around the MGM lazy river all day before heading off to a fancy dinner and to see Carrot Top . Not a minute planned to be wasted in this day!

Started out so excited to try another Cosmo restaurant - The Henry - and it did not disappoint. Had to indulge a bit and get the beignets as a starter and the short rib benedict as entree (yes - I got an appetizer at breakfast - don't judge me :p) Had a great conversation with the couple next to me as we waited for our meals as the wife was drooling over my beignets. I offered some but she declined (I wonder why - hmm - oh yeah that pandemic thing.) Anyway, we chatted about the things we miss about Vegas and how sad Phil Collins is in concert anymore (it's true - he's real BAD - don't ever waste your $$$ if he tours again!). Then my main course arrived. Absolutely loved it!! So tender, flavorful and a really unique spin on a traditional breakfast favorite.

Said good bye to my new friends and headed out for a nice stroll over to the MGM. Reminded myself along the way that as good as those berry coolers were that I have plans in the evening I don't wanna miss. Mama has to show a bit more self control today!

Oh I should mention that these aren't real beignets - they are donuts but still good. The lemon curd was super yummy ;)

Want a great appetizer....and need to clear your sinuses...nothing better than shrimp cocktail from St Elmos.

Sounds like you're having a fabulous trip and I love that you met a friend to spend time with. I have several friends that I met years ago via online Vegas travel forums. When the stars align, we continue to meet up in Vegas and share drinks, dinner and slot play. It's pretty great, actually. Enjoy your final hours in Vegas and thanks for taking us along.

I always do Vegas alone since my hubby has medical issues and can’t go anymore. I have friends who can’t understand how I can go by myself! I LOVE IT! I do what I want, when I want! I’m an outgoing person and talk easily to others, so I meet new people. I’ve traveled for years on business all over the world before I retired, so it isn’t new to me. I do miss having my husband there, but other than that it’s great. Enjoy!

I sure hope you try it sometime @Courtney . I 'had' to, but I learned to love every bit of it. No matter how you do Vegas, it's always a fun time.

Exactly! I'm like you - travel the world alone on business. Vegas alone doesn't intimate me at all. I can do what I want when I want! Did miss my other half and my son but did thoroughly enjoy the entire trip! :D

Pool time (again!!!). Lines weren't as long this day (Wednesday) as they were on Monday. Loved our daybed/pod on Monday so was able to check-in and get the same location (Pod #12) for the day. Perfect location. I have to say the service for these beds was great. We never were short on drinks (more water than berry coolers today) and our bucket never short of fresh ice. Food was fresh and served relatively quickly. I had the quesadilla today which was ok but should have gone back for the sushi again.

I will say that the lazy river at MGM is fantastic but the people watching is even better. Like special dances from men in denim speedos:hmmm: Kept us fully entertained all day long! Word of advice if you want to go to the lazy river at MGM. Get yourself a cheaper float at Target, Amazon or wherever and just have it inflated here for $5. (Mine was $5 at Target) The rafts/floats they have here are very expensive (like $35+ each!) and you just end up giving or throwing them away at the end of your trip anyway. I had brought 2 along and gave them to some lovely other 40something ladies when we left.

It was a beautiful warm & sunny day but pretty windy and I had an appointments for a blowout at Drybar before my much anticipated evening out so left the pool about 2:30. I absolutely would rent a spot here again. Well worth it in my book (and much cheaper than the alternative of 5+hours at a slot machine!)

Up next - Drybar, Beauty & Essex and Carrot Top

GREAT report!!! Thanks for sharing, food looked wonderful! A agree with you @ParisFan I'm a big PH fan and that place is pretty depressing right now. Hopefully they can reign it back in and instill that high energy environment soon.

Another option: https://www.propelwater.com/products#powder I don't know if these are keto-friendly. Is sucralose ok?

Loving the trip report ParisFan, thanks for sharing! The food pics are making me drool more than normal.

For many people following a low carb diet sucralose is a no-no. I personally avoid it.

Loving your TR! I'm assuming you are a hoosier? I love. St. Elmos!

I use Drip Drop in Vegas for electrolytes, but it has sugar. I will have to check out your suggestion!

Denim speedos? Who would have thunk! Somethings you just can’t unsee. I bet it was hilarious.

Great TR btw. Thanks for taking us along.

I made the mistake of googling “denim speedos.” Why, why, why am I so curious :bang:

That pic with Denim Speedo Dude is a scene for sure... is the other guy in the picture his date/BF/partner/husband, a friend who tolerates his shenanigans, or a stranger who either just got a heck of a surprise or is too blasted to care? If one of the first two, is he good with this or is this like “too far!” :nono: And is Denim Speedo Dude in the middle of a dance move or a pose? So many questions in my head lolololol :haha::evillaugh:
Thanks for the TR - it’s been fun following along and it looks like you are having a great time :) Hope your last night is extra-amazing

Nope not a Hoosier - just have spent lots of time in IN (race fans - dirt tracks as well as several trips to the 500. St Elmo's is always a must do for us!)

Luckily (or unluckily) I don't have to google.dnim speedos as I now have real life experience haha!

The dude in the river in front was most definitely with Speedo man but I don't know in what capacity not did I ask. There was some posing but it was a whole long dance of which we caught some on video. It was quite the show!!!

Up next was Drybar. Ladies - do yourself a favor and treat yourself to a blow out here. Great service and nice to have a special do for an evening.

Finished.my pampering at Drybar so it was off to Beauty & Essex. Now this is a special Vegas experience that is not to be missed. The pawn shop is super cool but the food is totally drool worthy. It was so had to make choices! We started with the bone marrow and the grilled cheese soup dumplings. Now the dumplings were good but that marrow was THE highlight of the entire trip. Absolutely AMAZING!!! Next course was the Thai shrimp and the Mexican street corn ravioli. Both were fantastic. We were full but decided to split the donuts. Now they were good but I wouldn't get them again. B&E will be a staple of every Vegas trip.for me from here on out!!! 20210422_222408.jpg

Your hair looks fabulous. Visiting the Drybar is a must for me too! I also love the grilled cheese dumplings.

Hope you hit a jackpot! Thanks for sharing your trip.
