A Starry and Spectacular (I Hope!) Spring Celebration

Well, after literally HUNDREDS of hours of planning over the course of four months, my trip has begun.

I am exhausted as I was packing and organizing until about an hour before my Blacklane car service arrived at 5:30 this morning but I am now in a surreal and happy place, though more surreal. I can't fully absorb that this long-planned trip is now underway.

I am currently enjoying a fantastic breakfast in the new American Express Centurion Lounge in Terminal 4 at JFK.

This is the first time I have flown Delta from NYC to Las Vegas. My beloved Jet Blue kept changing the MINT flights and I was able to get a Delta One seat at a very good fare. There is no hot meal service yet on Delta (Jet Blue MINT never STOPPED serving it's amazing meals), but I am excited to experience even a toned down version of Delta One.

I have a lot of preliminary information I want to share that may be helpful for your trip planning. If I am not snoring on the plane and the wifi is good I will try and do so during the flight.

This trip is a long one; 19 nights in total. Three of those nights at various points will be spent at Death Valley and Zion National Parks and one night will be at Circa. Otherwise I will be camped out at my home base, my beloved Wynncore. I have a Wynn Parlor Suite booked for the duration of my stay.

My host knows about my trips and I offered to check out before my side trips and check back in but he said absolutely not, which is great as I will just pack a small bag -- plus the large amount of equipment I brought (including a portable telescope I purchased yesterday) -- for my DV and Zion NP trips.

Okay, I think I should be heading to the gate as it is a hike and my flight is in 45 minutes.

Breakfast was wonderful, including the french toast.

You and I seem to be in sync with our trips to both Las Vegas and Atlantic City (I promise, I am not stalking you!)

I am so envious of / happy for you for having a 19 night trip. That's how long mine was supposed to be. But now I arrive after you and leave before you.

Your mission on this trip is to hit a six figure jackpot, preferably on Buffalo.

@Flowers I am also flying delta one for my June trip - much more affordable than JB Mint right now. i have done Delta One pre pandemic - very similar to Jet Blue Mint. last time i flew delta out of Terminal 4 the Centurion Lounge was not there. the Delta lounge was my choice but i am definitely going to hit the Centurion this time ( my one issue with T5 - no lounges). Enjoy your trip
