I think it would be better to give an unknown a big break.

I mentioned we're behind, so far have only watched 3 of Aaron's episodes, so curious to see how he is once he's comfortable

I like Rodgers. Trying to copy at least some of Trebek's mannerisms made him the best so far.

With the trend in television being what it is, if Levar Burton does audition as Jeopardy host then he will likely get the permanent gig.

I feel like there's subtle... suggestion here... I pick up what you're putting down and you're likely right, but on the flip side, at least he's a legit positive hero. I signed the petition to bring him on a guest host.

Yes! I made a true to life, similar sounds, visuals, EVERYTHING, Jeopardy! game for my boss in the interior design industry for a market day / convention type thing... and I was so bummed she shot down some of my better "Easter eggs" or suggestions beyond making it look and sound just like the game. I got quotations in but couldn't get them to say her name with the syllable emphasized on the end part, alliterations, things like that. Doh!

Exactly. I wanted to like Cooper and Rodgers and Jennings, but there's just something missing. I think maybe we can all agree that Alex cannot be replaced. You know, they always tell you that no matter how much great work you do, there's always someone who can take your place. That's not true for Alex. Jeopardy will surely go on, but it will never be the same. Kind of like after Trapper and Henry left MASH—the show was still good, but not the same. Lame example, but you get the idea.

I watched the Cooper Jeopardy this evening, after watching most of the re-run Trebek Jeopardy in the afternoon and trying to take notes on mannerisms and vocal patterns and stuff. My conclusion on the second day was that Cooper did not appear as Trebek-ish on Tuesday as he appeared to on Monday. He was more Rodgers-ish than Trebek-ish Tuesday.

I didn't care for Couric seemed to try too hard.
Jennings was uncomfortable to watch and a bit boring
Dr. Oz - I didn't care for at the beginning but the second week grew on me.
Aaron Rodgers was a bit stiff at the beginning but liked him after he seemed more comfortable.
Anderson Cooper very good only after seeing him once could be great.
Mike Richards so far the best to me, but not sure he would take it if offered.

    And some additional guest hosts:
    George Stephanopoulos Week of 7-12
    Robin Roberts Week on 7-19
    LeVar Burton Week of 7-26
    David Faber Week of 8-2
    Joe Buck Week of 8-9

Unsure why these individuals only get one week to host.
According to Jeopardy, no additional guest hosts after Buck.

I've been a Jeopardy fan for years and even went to the show for my 60th birthday. Unbelievable thrill. Even asked Alex two questions! He's amazing in person. He never used a teleprompter. Ever. Talked to Johnny outside waiting to get in. It was the best birthday.

I am duly qualified to answer this question. Really liked Anderson last night. He can be serious and funny and obviously can read a question without screwing it up. Next is KJ, then the Exec Prod.

I don't know how Anderson could handle it with his job. They do only tape one week a month so maybe they could.

Looking forward to seeing the others. That last show of Alex's was the saddest ever but the shows this year have done him proud. Thank you Alex!

There was one individual I was surprised did not get an invite to host Jeopardy!
    Meredith Vieira
She was a host on the daytime version of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire and is currently hosting 25 Words or Less
Maybe I missed a story that she was asked but passed due to her husband being legally blind and having MS.
I just thought the show might have wanted to give her a shot since she has done game shows.

Haven't gotten to Mayim yet, but Buzzy absolutely crushed it. I have always been Team Ken, but I have to admit, Buzzy seemed perfect for the job.

I also thought Buzzy was really good.

Mayim Bialik is really kind of loosening up as her week goes on. She seems really honored to be able to host.

I'm looking forward to LeVar Burton.

It makes me laugh that all the sports talking heads like Colin Cowherd seem to think this is an option for Rodgers. I bet the people who run Jeopardy don't think that. I tend to have a variety of friends, and most of those who are avid Jeopardy fans had to ask me who the guy was. Although he was ok, a bit stiff, I'll give you 20-1 there's no way he gets that gig permanently. I think Jennings and Buzzy would have the inside track, but I am enjoying Mayim—she is quite pleasant and actually very, very smart (a degree in neuroscience with a minor in Hebrew).

Looks like Mike Richards, the Producer, has the job as the primary host, with Blossom/Amy having a role in some productions of the program.
