Team Ken. We just skipped Dr oz after watching one. Katie was okay but not great. And as much as I generally like Rogers, he’s too wooden for this. We”re about a week and a half behind so if there’s been anyone since Aaron we haven’t seen it.

We missed it today because of the trial. I didn’t think Rogers was bad once he had a couple of shows under his belt. Thumbs down on Dr. Oz. Katie C. was good. Ken was good also. The first guy (can’t think of his name) was the best, but he has other duties. There are many more to come from what I have heard.

KJ was great. Second guy was good too. Only watched a couple with the doctor, he was adequate. KC was okay, though she tended to address the contestants like they were kindergartners sometimes. Her quick interviews with them were particularly cringey for me. I really liked Aaron Rodgers, wouldn't mind seeing him be the new permanent host.

Tonight starts Anderson Cooper. He seems tailor-made for this.

Only saw Rodgers before tonight, who was OK but seemed too dry.

Saw Cooper tonight and thought he was very good. Again, didn't see Jennings or the producer, so don't know how he did in comparison, as I've heard both did well.

Anderson Cooper on tonight. He seems a natural. But I would think Jennings will eventually get the full-time gig.

I didn't care for KJ much. It was mainly his voice! KC was ok. "Dr" Oz was horrible as expected. Mike Richards was easily the best so far but I think Buzzy from a couple years ago is tailor made for this gig!

I'm not a fan of Ken's voice. I think others have done better in this area. It's going to be hard to replace Alex...that's for sure. :nworthy:

Cooper would be my choice. The others were alright, with the exception of Katie Couric who was just garbage.

I didn't like Jennings. Tuned in for a couple of the Rodgers episodes. He was much better than I thought he'd be, but not quite right. IMO he'd be better suited for a talk show than a game show.

Can’t wait for Joe Buck’s turn to show everyone what a true professional can do!

    I think he'd nail it.

I also liked Michael Richards... I think he did the best job, and it would be HE who would be able to hire himself.

In a way, I do long for when there were professional game show hosts... Jim Perry, Bill Cullen, Tom Kennedy, Bob Eubanks (though I never was a fan), etc. They knew how the business ran and could slide in seamlessly. When Allen Ludden died, Tom Kennedy took over Password Plus without a hitch. After Jack Berry died, Jim Peck then Bill Cullen covered the Joker's Wild well.

Although there were some swings-and-misses (Rolf Benerschke on the network Wheel of Fortune) it seemed like they never really strayed from professional game show hosts until Drew Carey took over The Price is Right. Suddenly, comedians came out of the woodwork to poorly recreate classic game shows for network prime time.

All that said, if they can work out a taping schedule for Joe Buck to manage with his network baseball and football duties, give the man the job right now.

Agree. You missed Chuck Woolery. Original WOF, loved him in Scrabble and Lingo. The main difference between then and now is they try to make the shows more entertaining rather than an actual game show with some personality added.

I liked Aaron Rodgers. I agree that he was pretty stiff at first, but seemed to relax a bit as the shows went on. Mike Richards was good, but I doubt he would be the permanent host. My next favorite of the ones so far has to be Ken Jennings. I am looking forward to Buzzy Cohen hosting the ToC!

Too early to form opinion on Cooper after one show.
Jennings & Richards I was OK with
    Couric and Dr. Oz no.
Rodgers was hit and miss, but I thought he did a better hosing job than Couric and Dr. Oz
What I am tending to find that since Alex died, show for me is no longer part of must see TV

I liked Rodgers and think would get better once he eases into the job. Jennings was good. Couric seemed out of place. The Doctor is too shady. The first guy Mike was good but he had the advantage of being associated with show. It is going to be hard to replace Alex. I wish my TV station would not cancel Jeopardy for the trial. I wait all day to watch Jeopardy and do not appreciate it being replaced by the trial. Jeopardy is the one TV show that I look forward to watching. I can catch up on the trial anytime but I need my Jeopardy.

Actually, even with only one appearance, he is the most relaxed and most Trebek-esque.

We get Jeopardy{bang} here twice per day and the daytime one is the first-reruns still with Trebek. I'm probably gonna get home in time to catch both and I'll pay more attention today.

I don’t watch it daily but when I wake up in the middle of the night and can’t fall back to sleep I put it on Netflix. Older with Alex and no commercials. It helps me fall asleep to try to think of the answers. No time to concentrate on my thoughts or pains. Watched at least 5 last night with my vaccine #2 aches. I’ve almost seen them all. I’ll be sad when I can’t listen during the night.

Huge Jeopardy fan from way back.

Ken Jennings is way too soft spoken. I loved him as a contestant during his run, but not so much as a host.

Michael Richards was very good. The best so far.

Katie Couric and Dr. Oz seemed more comfortable as hosts. Probably due to being used to being in front of the cameras. Katie was just too perky. Dr. Oz I didn't mind as much as some of you, but I don't think I would watch him on a regular basis.

Aaron Rodgers seemed like an odd choice. I didn't want to like him as I am a Bears fan. I thought he did a lot better than I expected. The first few shows he was pretty stiff and wooden, but he loosened up and did a decent job showing some actual wit.

    I haven't seen Anderson yet.

LeVar Burton has been campaigning for a tryout. He’s got serious educational cred. I hope they give him a shot.
