    Hello
I have a Mlife comp at the Bellagio in the middle of May because of a fair amount of VP play at the Borgata AC last fall. It is 4 free nights in their smallest “suite”, $475 free play and $200 resort credit.
Last night I hit a VP royal flush with a $25 bet for $20,000 at the Borgata. I know comps are based on a coin in / theoretical loss formula. But these are not normal times. In normal times, based on my play last fall, I would have only gotten free drinks LOL
I know I’m being greedy, but is there any chance I could get my comp offer upgraded “base on me having $20,000 of their money? Nicer suite? Additional resort credit?
If so, how would I go about asking? Would I contact a host?

    Please advise... thanks

Many congrats on that hit, but I do not think you will get an improved offer. However, if you had a host there would be no harm in asking.

I do not have a host. I am a mid roller at best.

    All of these are MHO.

Congrats on the win, but IMHO, a significant win is not enough to warrant a comp. (I think the movie "Last Vegas" in which Morgan Freeman was granted a comp after winning $100,000 in Blackjack at Aria kinda implied that)

Casinos aren't in it to "get it all back" in the short term. They know that, as "greedy" as gamblers are, they'll get it all back in the long run.

So, no, I wouldn't expect an improved offer, but it wouldn't hurt to ask (as long as you had a thick skin before asking).

If you are planning to bring some of that $20,000 with you to play, you could check and see if they have any paid upgrades when you get there, that with enough play - could maybe be comped off at the end? Of course, you run the risk of that not happening. That's what I would do.

I have actually called Bellagio and arranged for a paid upgrade from a Salone Suite to the Bellagio suite the morning I flew in. That was back when I had an abundance of express comps.

    Congratulations on the win!

Big Win=Big Comp is an urban legend propagated by Hollywood.

Now, if you take that increased bankroll and play much longer/bigger than usual, that’s a different story.

In my very humble opinion, I have had the opposite happen. My comps have gone down when I have won.

I have seen many reports here that when winners for backend comps, they decline since you "won too much".

About the only time they might look favorable is that you have a nice win and about to leave - you might talk them into something - but even then it is often based on play and back end comps.

In reality - $20k is not that big of a deal.

If you believe everything you hear, there are some places that really hate winners. I have a hard that about El Cortez for years.

Plus, you won at Borgata. As "casino-centric" as cost centers have become, you might get better comp offers at Borgata, but not so much Bellagio or anywhere in Las Vegas.

How did you get a Bellagio offer based on Borgata play? I play a bunch at Borgata, but when I look at my offers on Mlife I have nothing at all for Vegas, and what look like normal prices for rooms.

I have absolutely no idea.I haven’t even played in an MGM property in 10 years. Last fall was my first time ever at the Borgata. The virus has has temporarily rewritten the comps rule book.I am a Wynn loyalist in Vegas. This year’s Wynn comp is 3 free nights/300 free play /200 resort credit. Last year $129 weeknights, next year $129 weeknights (I hope). I am at my comp zenith, I know that. BTW, I am flying first class for free from the east coast for less miles than I typically use for coach. Again because of the virus. I booked the airfare before the vaccines changed the travel mindset for many. Middle of May 2021 Bellagio/Wynn combined 7 free nights, 750 free play and 500 resort credit. With that comp package, first class flights and getting hit by VP lightning last night, if I were rational, I would give up my habit after the May trip. I’m pnot, I’m a gambler.LOL

BTW, M Life upped my offer slightly. Free play from 475 to 600, resort credit from 200 to 300 and a regular Bellagio salon suit to a strip view salon suite. Not a big deal, but I will take it. I did not make a request based on my win because of the advice I received here. I assume it was my coin in at the Borgata.

I would play at the level you were playing when the offer was made. :poker: Enjoy the trip, charge it all to the room and pay off what is left after your play with part of the 20K. But that is just me.

The thing about winning especially in a game like craps which is my game of choice is that as you win, you generally press higher and get more aggressive. In slots I would imagine you might play more lines, move to a higher denom machine or even play longer. I have found after winning trips my front end comps end up being slightly improved because I played to a higher theoretical loss. On losing trips, I usually play shorter period of time and get more conservative to make my bank roll last longer.
