Long time lurker here. I love reading everyone’s trip reports!

We just got back from Cosmo - first time staying there (usually stay at mLife properties or Wynn). We really like the style of the casino, location, and the rooms (we stayed in a fountain view wraparound suite). Food options were good too.

Our major complaint is the cleanliness. Our room was not very clean when we got there, complete with a random dirty sock and plastic sack in a corner behind a side table. The hallways and elevators had pieces of trash, used masks, etc. on the floor for days in a row. I personally witnessed housekeeping staff walk right by them and do nothing. Also, room service carts were in the hallways for well over 24hours in many cases.

Additionally, We put in quite a bit of coin but got no comps on the backend, only a future free night (sterling status).

We won’t be staying there again or recommending it.

Is this typical at the Cosmo?

Meh, I wouldn't say typical, but also not unheard of. I had an issue with some not easily visible trash in my room after checking in on one trip, but it was quickly resolved after I called downstairs. Generally, I have found the hallways well maintained and never seen room service tables in the halls for 24 hours.

I haven't ever had any issue with housekeeping at Cosmo. Room was always clean, and they had housekeeping even when other hotels were not. My last trip I was missing the robes in my room (not a big deal I know, but I look forward to them) I called housekeeping and someone was up within 10 minutes bringing me robes.

I've seen room service food, etc sit in Caesars Palace halls at times also. Definitely not nice to look at, have called housekeeping to have it discarded food taken away even though it wasn't my room.
Wish everyone would at least throw a napkin over things. Don't like to look at your half eaten bagel. :D

I’ve never had a housekeeping issue at Cosmo but I haven’t been during the pandemic.

Very interestingly similar. My room has always been very clean. Had robes August and November 2020, but no robe March 2021.

Just back from Cosmo and we had no issues with housekeeping.

In fact, it seemed like they went above cleaning our room like folding dirty clothes that were on the floor and organizing the sink area.

We ordered room service late one night and the cart was removed by the time I left at 8am.

We also had both of the robes and slippers.

There's also a lot of variability at various properties. I've seen literal bags of trash in the hallways at Delano, for example. It's just one of those things, unfortunately.

Good to know it’s not the norm. Maybe it was just who was assigned to our floor that weekend.

Just returned from Cosmo. My room was immaculate and no trash or itmes in hallways. I would say that is abnormal for this property. It does seem like the housekeeping staff assigned to your floor were not very good.

The only time In my half dozen stays there that I had any problem was the weekend after re-opening. Rooms were not ready hours after check in time, when I got up to the room it had no linens, elevator lobbies full of trash. No housekeeping service one day. I spoke to a service manager and she offered apologies and some RC. I learned after the fact that they were severely understaffed on housekeeping due to an outbreak of the virus that weekend.

Every other time I've stayed there it's been fine. I love the place so I'm willing to cut them a little slack, but at the end of the day it's a 5-star resort and you've got to deliver on that.

Went twice last year during the pandemic and both times the rooms were very clean and we had prompt housekeeping each day. I actually had never stayed there prior to pandemic.

I liken the Cosmo to the really hot girl that has just lost her glow. She's still attractive, but not once what she was. IMO property has been on decline for years in terms of quality, vibe, and service. I know everyone on here really loves the property, but it was way better before it was bought by Blackstone Group.

Sorry the OP experienced a mishap.

One complaint from thousands of VMB stays.....sometimes things happen.
