    My Trip Report

We, the Alpert Five, had a busy couple of weeks leading up to our trip. We are in the midst of sprucing up our property to place it on the market. Painting, reroofing, trips to donate items, and other tasks have kept us busy in our "spare" time. :faint:

We had been looking forward to some rest and relaxation in Vegas. Also, our friendly neighborhood handyman would have us out of the way to work on some flooring projects.

A live TR was not in the cards for this trip. I hope the following report and pics serve to educate, entertain, or inspire each of you in at least one way.

Thank you in advance for taking the time to read my report! :D

    Wednesday, March 31

I rocked out to the sounds coming from my old barn radio as I worked on a few things at home before we left. :headbang:

    20210328_192555.jpg

It was a smooth drive from Alpert Acres down to the Twin Cities for our afternoon flight. :biker:

At Park 'N Fly, a shuttle bus followed us right to our parking spot and we were over to MSP very quickly.

    20210331_151754(1).jpg

Our Delta flight was smooth and quiet.

Outside LAS, there was a little bit of a wait for the bus to the Rental Car Center. We were first in line so we were quite confident that we'd be on the next bus.

We hopped into an Infiniti SUV for the short drive to Cancun Resort. Nice get-up-and-go in that vehicle! :biker:

We dropped our bags and drove over to Cracker Barrel by Silverton. :feedme:

A quick run into CVS and then back to the resort for some much-needed shut-eye. :snore: :D

Putting the house on the market, glad @Richard Alpert finally took me up on the very low pay 4K job.

Looking forward to the rest of the report. No one Vacay’s like the Alpert family.

We set out to get more supplies. We entered a Wal-Mart with a green sign and discovered that one to be pretty much just groceries. :ssst:

    We found a Sam's Club.

    Then a "regular" Wal-Mart.

The rental car had MN plates and this essential accessory! :hmmm:

    20210401_132018.jpg

Minion #2 and I picked up Raising Cane's for lunch. Panda Express for my bride and Minions #1 and #3.

    20210401_120337.jpg

    After a little pool time,

    20210401_124655.jpg

we did a Premium Outlet doubleheader.

It was a two-minute drive to the South Premium Outlets. We did a quick walkthrough and the bride wasn't feeling it, so we were off to the North Premium Outlets!

    20210401_163428.jpg

We had Pizza Hut delivered for supper. I had to hoof down to the front desk to meet the delivery person, but that was a small price to pay to get the cheesy glory into our suite. :feedme: :licklips:

The $300,000 moving expense allowance is what sealed the deal, @TrewBrew! :D

Bride and minion #3 drive off to Ross & Target.

While awaiting their return, Minion #2 and I went down to scope out the pool situation. and to try to snag some loungers. We set up a vantage point at a patio table, but nothing opened up in the 45 minutes we were there. Sure enough, the bride and other minions walked in and a cluster of loungers opened up! :faint:

Minion #2 and I drove to a very busy Chick-fil-A to grab lunch to bring back to our suite. :feedme:

We went to The Strip for a little while. It was apparent as we drove up that it was a busy place!

We parked at Miracle Mile Shops. It was definitely more difficult to find a parking spot than it was during our family trip last summer.

    20210402_162024.jpg

I had a lot of positive feedback from folks digging my mask. :D Interacting positively with the variety of folks in Vegas is my favorite part of visiting.

    20210403_085554.jpg

We walked north, getting as far as the cookie dough truck between Linq and Harrah's.

    For @breanna61 :peace:

Most of the joints we tried to get supper at were already booked solid for the night. (Hard Rock Cafe, Buca. Didn't bother trying Red Lobster. :D) So we figured we'd find something closer to our resort.

We tunneled ourselves on the way back. :faint:

We went to IHOP for supper. Chicken and pancakes hit the spot! :feedme:

I played Frogger with Minion #1 to get across Las Vegas Blvd. to shop at Smith's. Not too busy at 6:15 A.M..

    20210403_115800.jpg

    Target,

    20210403_120936.jpg

We headed down to South Point to bowl, but the wait for a lane was about 90 minutes. So we drove up to The Orleans. We enjoyed 20 frames of family fun!

South Point won't have any open bowling from May 1 until Sept 1. The Men's National Tournament will take all 124 lanes from May thru July (the normally only use the Bowling Plaza, but with COVID protocols, they are spreading out and using all lanes). Once the USBC's are done, there is a military tournament using all 124 lanes in August.

USBC Nationals are back in Vegas

Eviction for smoking weed? Guess we know @FormallyTD cant stay there. Sounds like a fun family trip. Good luck on selling the place- from what I see in Texas right now it’s a sellers market.

You know if they would just build a Waffle House then Nevada would be complete!

I don’t envy you moving. Hopefully it isn’t far. 8 miles almost did us in totally after 36 years in the same house.

I slept in a bit, but awoke to a beautiful Vegas morning! :trophy:
