Has anybody ventured there in the last couple months? I’m curious as to the gambling environment right now. Do they still have blackjack tables open? Certain times? Limits? Comping drinks while playing?
Considering a couple hours of low rolling in a few months. Been a few years since I was inside.

I always liked this place. Low roller place for sure. I try to patronize some of the older and smaller places each trip just to support them in some small way. Las Vegas needs these places. Wild Wild West, Eureka, Ellis Island, OYO, the Tuscany, Casino Royale, Silver Sevens even the Aztec. Gotta pick a couple to hit this up coming trip

I'm sure the same smoke that was hanging in the air the last time you visited is still there.

Be sure you have your tetanus shot before you go!

How about Jerry's Nugget? I have decided to go there this time just to see what it's all about. I hear they still have coin slot machines from the good ole days. I will know tomorrow!!!

Jerry's Nugget is a dive, but fun, clean, safe, and they have a great Cafe.

I can't say the same for Wild Wild West or Silver Nugget, except they're both also dives. I wouldn't go to either again without personal armed security, and even then just to see if they're as shitty and shady as I remember.

Wait...can a place be fun, clean, safe, have a great cafe and be considered a dive?

My definition of a dive is pretty much the opposite of yours.

I have had the honor of going to some of the seediest places Las Vegas has to offer. The old Gold Spike was pretty shady. The Klondike was too yet both were loveable in their own way. I never felt unsafe at either. The only place my guard was ever truly “ up “ was at the Western. I literally stood outside the woman’s room door as my wife attempted to use the facility. Despite being on “ alert “ not scared in anyway but cautious to a degree, I’m happy to have experienced that place and man what a place it was.

Love the smaller casinos. They add so much color to the city and interesting spin on a night around town. WWW isn't my style but I love Ellis Island and Skyline.

I wrote a trip report many years ago about how we ended up staying at Wild Wild West for one night the time we decided to go to LV at the last minute once on a Valentine’s Day weekend when there was an Oscar DeLa Hoya fight and we thought (incorrectly) we didn’t need reservations anywhere. I learned many valuable lessons on that trip.

They've been gone for at least a year and a half or so, probably closer to 2. I remember going there several years ago with my dad and we played blackjack. Went back a year after that and they were all gone.

I was just there the other day and it was me and 1 other person at the entire bar. Still have the quarter progressive at the bar and always comping drinks with minimal play. They have gotten rid of the tables and have replaced them with the electronic tables, just as seedy as always but place was pretty dead as i went during the day.

The Western had all the atmosphere of the Port Authority bus terminal.
