For those that are wondering, DT is busy again. What was a weekend crowd last month, currently shows up every day. There are so many people that even the machines at DTG had gamblers. I left my GG room today a little after noon. There was only one seat available at the GG bar, and I got the last seat at D's Vue bar. I don't know how much of this is March Madness, Vaccinations, or pent up demand and I am not sure these numbers will continue. I'm just reflecting what I've seen the last 10 days.

This doesn't mean that things are back to normal. Some restaurants are still closed and most of the open ones have reduced hours. There are still no bands, and the rate of mask compliance has continued to grow.

DTG didn't have table games open for most of my stay there. They opened today though. I play VP and there is often competion for full pay machines. Some casinos have reduced seating, while others have installed plexi glass.

I personally have found that too many people are funneling into the places or machines that I'm interested in. Especially the places that are closing earlier. I'm coming back in May and will try to book the busiest places during week days. I'm wondering whether I'll find open 4Q's machines this W.E.

So, anyway, DT Vegas is alive and kicking, but some of your faves may be going to bed early.

i actually think during covid downtown became more of a happening spot than the strip. This might change once summer starts since the pools are better on the strip or maybe once clubs open because that's the thing that downtown lacks.. But even when i stayed on the strip during covid i always spent my weekend nights gambling downtown because that's where the vibe was. Especially at club one props

When I was there at the end of February I thought it was busier then I was expecting too, however, I didn't have any issues getting machines at 4Q, Vue bar, Chicago brew, el cortez or Circa. I also will be there in the beginning of May and wonder how it will be?

Vegas is back. I've been in town the last 3 weeks and clearly things are picking up. I stayed at Rio over the weekend and the line was over 10 minutes at times to use the elevators. It took me 3 attempts to get a seat at the bar at Chicago Brew Pub today (Thursday).

Restaurants need to start extending their hours downtown. There are tons of people out past midnight and very few places to eat.

    • I think much of the increase is due to people being on spring break, March madness, pent up demand and stimulus money. I'm thinking crowds will be more average starting in June.

Lots going on right now. Check in two weeks for a more reliable barometer.

My friend came back from vegas a couple of weeks ago. He was appalled that many people out on the FSE weren't masking up or wearing their masks properly. He said that most casinos do try to enforce the mask policy and while security will tell people to mask up on the FSE they won't go through the crowd to enforce the mask policy.

I am in Vegas right now downtown.
Fremont street is going to be packed tonight and tomorrow.
The Fremont hotel is sold out, although some of their rooms are closed off.
I was told GG is almost sold out.
Circa is hopping. I had lunch at Saginaws and it was good. I had the tuna salad sandwich and potato salad.

Circa seemed to be a big draw for March madness. The sports book was packed. ALso this is adding 500 hotel rooms to the area.

Maybe they’re all vaccinated, CDC says you can be maskless around unvaccinated people. If you’re at all worried about COVID, you shouldn’t be out in Vegas, especially right now.

The CDC says you can be maskless in small groups where you know everyone is vaccinated. They say in public you should still wear a mask and practice social distancing.

jmho, I think all this pent up demand is going to result in worsening/bad comp offers for the peak summer months,
and a let's find out what the market will bear pricing approach..
    I hope I'm wrong.

    May your rideshares be fast.

Don't think I've seen a pic where proper distancing was being used. If that's a concern, which I think it should be for a while longer, choose accordingly.

Nope, friend said that the younger people are the ones not masking up. I saw the same thing when I was in vegas in December.

But even in Hawaii they are saying that covid cases now are coming from the younger crowd since the older people are vaccinated.

Yes, I'm waiting for my 2nd shot, then I'm good to go to vegas. Will still mask up though, just in case I'm one of the 5% that the vaccine wasn't effective on.

That is not true. They say vaccinated people need to continue to wear masks in public.

Also, there is still a mask mandate in Nevada. As long as that is in place, our position is that you need to comply with the guidance.

If you can't be bothered to follow the rules, maybe you shouldn't be in Vegas. :p

Straight from the CDC website, if you’re vaccinated:

    • You can gather indoors with unvaccinated people of any age from one other household (for example, visiting with relatives who all live together) without masks or staying 6 feet apart, unless any of those people or anyone they live with has an increased risk for severe illness from COVID-19.

"One other household" is not Fremont Street.
