    Hi, I'm Ken, and I'm a Vegas-a-holic.

I like Pina Coladas and getting caught in the rain, especially if it's in Vegas (except for the rain part, and the pina colada part.. I'd rather just have some Vodka).

I love staying at THEhotel at Mandalay Bay and Wynn, but end up staying at most any MGM-Mirage property, depending on the comps. MC is my favorite 'low-price' hotel on the strip. I wish I could stay at the villas at Wynn.

I'm next going to Vegas in two days and try to make at least 2 trips a year, but try to hit 4.

Plenty of funny and/or amazing things have happened to me in Vegas.. otherwise, why would I keep coming back? One of the neatest things was getting into one of the Taxi Cab Confessions cabs. We weren't on Taxi Cab Confessions, but we talked to the driver about all the shows she did.

Oh... was this thread for newbies? :)

Hi! I'm Becky, but you can call me Kikky (kee kee). I moved to Vegas in February and I don't remember what rain is. And for that, my sinuses thank me! No, I'm no newbie either, but I'd like to welcome those of you who are!!

    Ain't Vegas great??!!??

I'm 40-ish and female. Call me Murph. Call me a Vegas addict. Just don't call me late to cocktail hour :drunk:

I usually stay at Harrah's properties, as that's usually who gives me the deals. Although I did get an unusually good deal at the Mirage last year where I ended up paying 65 bucks for 4 nights.

The thing about Vegas is just escaping from your everyday humdrum life. The possiblilty of hitting that big jackpot. Or seeing something so unbelievable or bizarre that you'll be talking about it for years. So far I haven't seen that bizarre thing, but I always have hope. And maybe the best part is daydreaming about your upcoming trip when you finally get it planned.

I wish to win the lottery so I can stay at those off-the-hook places you see on TV where all of the celebrities stay and be treated like royalty.

I have yet to have a trip where I come out ahead. So they have all of my money and I'm on a never ending quest to get it back. This might take a while :haha:

Glad to have found this board. You are all a great bunch, and I don't feel like such a Vegas-obsessed freak here

    Hi,

Thought I would add my bio....my name is Sandy, from CT and have been going to Vegas for 35 years. God, that makes me sound so old! I usually stay at Caesars, although the paytables have deteriorated so much there that I keep making threatening noises about leaving. I pretty much just play video poker and play at some of the off Strip places for part of my trip. I'm not a fan of downtown, though. I usually make 4 trips a year out, usually just get home and am planning the next one. My husband is not a Vegas fan so I get to go with my friends and relatives. Just got home from a six day trip and have already booked for a November trip. Enjoy reading everyone's comments here.

    Sandy

Welcome aboard Sandy! Since you just recently returned from Vegas, perhaps you would like to post a trip report and share your adventure? They really do help get us junkies from one trip to the next!

Hello, I am Gerald from Arlington, TX. As my screen name suggests, I have a passion for jazz. Not the smooth stuff, but the real jazz like Miles Davis or Thelonious Monk. I break the mold of what most people think of native Texans – I listen to jazz and do not own a pair of boots or a cowboy hat. I work in category management for a wine and spirit distributor. If anyone has wine or spirit questions, I would be happy to find answers to them.

One of my other passions is Las Vegas. I took my first trip in the late eighties and was hooked. Friends and family claim I am obsessed, but I know it is only a healthy interest. Luckily my wife also enjoys going, but not as much as I do. I always enjoy seeing and trying new and different things when I go. This board has been a fantastic repository of information for that. The raw and honest opinions concerning restaurants, bars and casinos is a breath of fresh air. Thanks to everyone for all the info and opinions.

I typically stay where the deals are, and since I rent a car the location is not that important. It is fun to try out the ambiance in each of the different hotels. If I were forced to answer which I prefer, would probably say downtown. If I am getting spanked at a casino, I like the ability to cash in what few chips that are left and go next door in search of better luck.

I have a tough time pinpointing one particular favorite thing about Vegas. I really enjoy the whole package. It probably stems from a childhood love of amusement parks, which I traded for the adult version in Vegas.

Trips to Vegas have been sporadic in the past. Usually mix it up between going with the wife and the guys. We hope to make more trips in the future now that we are empty nesters. My son recently graduated (Hook ‘em Horns) and has joined the work force.

I hope to go back sometime before the end of the year, but I will defiantly be there in March for my big 50 birthday. We spent a week there for our 25th anniversary and had a blast. The current plan is to stay at the Golden Nugget. If anyone has suggestions for places to eat and/or hang out at for this trip, I would love to hear them.

I look forward to being an active reader and participant on this board.

PS- I collect pictures of Vegas for my screensaver. If anyone knows of some places that more can be found, please pass it on.
    Thanks

Great introduction Gerald, thanks for sharing a little of you with us. Your picture collection is something shared by many on this board (blackjack specifically comes to mind) so perhaps you two can share and increase your collection. When in March will you be out there? It helps to know what time you're looking at since March is such a crazy month in Vegas different times require different recommendations. If you start a thread in the Misc. thread about general ideas for things to do, I'm sure you'll get an enthusiastic response:wave:

Hello, My name is Sandra....wish they had a html name tag :)

I fell in love with Las Vegas when i was 12 years old, and i vowed that once i turned 21, I would make it my home away from home, and sure enough, I have tried my best.

Not until recently have I actually started to gamble, mostly Roulette. I do pretty well at this game and have yet to lose. I'm too afraid to go to a Craps table, even though they look like super fun, I have no idea how to play the game.

As many times as I have been there, I must say that my favorite trip was just last year, when one of my good friends proposed to his girlfriend (now wife) at his birthday dinner. It was such a special moment, and to be included...well, I felt very honored.

Next trip is in Sept. though I am trying to figure out a way to go before that.

Until then, I am glad I found this site and visit numerous times a day :ssst:

    Have a Great Day everyone!

Hello from Michigan! My wife and I visited your beautiful state on our honeymoon(October 2005). We went to Maui and Oahu, and I loved every second of it and can't wait to get back there!

    Newbie here.

    Hi there.

Just found this board. I enjoy reading the trip reports!

We consider Vegas our home away from home.
My first time was in June 2003, although the hubby had gone with family for years before we met.
I'm originally from MA and he's from Southern California.

Our last trip we stayed at the IP and had some fun winning on the penny slots.

    Great to meet you all.
