Dinner at Din Tai Fung. Reminding me of why I only go for dim sum with a group. I want to try everything, but that would be mega-food.

I like the place. Comfy, modern, lots o' light... the old Aria Café with all the windows.

 

traditional pork xiao long bao, vegetarian Shanghai rice cakes. Bao were excellent as expected... these rice cakes are really good. Full, but ordering more to try stuff

 

Shrimp and pork spicy wonton. Flavor bomb...

 

I'll be in 1 of the 16 pano suites tomorrow. Hopefully there's an invited guest checkin line, I should be showing up between 5-7pm. Depending on what time i hit the road.

 

Full, but I couldn't help it. Taro buns

These were a letdown. Just ordinary bao with sweet purple mashed potatoes. I've had better Taro in SF Bay

I can report that the comments regarding rotten drink service at MGM are accurate. Barely seen a cocktail hostess... two refused to take orders while delivering - said they'd return. Didn't

Been playing off and on about 4 hours, still haven't gotten a drink

My experience last week at Aria was so-so for drinks, much better service at Park MGM.

The Invited Guest check-in line was open last Monday so maybe it's a Tuesday/Wednesday type of thing where they are reducing the # of FD staff on hand?

 

If you don’t mind giving some play to Cosmo, take the short walk over. Cocktail waitresses everywhere.

 

I am not going near Cosmo during an MGM stay. But I agree, its great drink service. I was there early March, will be there again end of April

 

Great room! Much prefer that to the corner suite. Doesn’t seem that long a walk when heading down each morning but I swear it was twice as far dragging my old ass up at the end off the night. As long as it has that great tub with a view I’m happy.

‘Hope drinks and wins become much more frequent.

 

@ReTriggerMe Yummm! I love Din Tai Fung. I'm planning on a meal there end of this month. How is LV location compared to California or Seattle ones?
Which one was your favorite dish there?

 

Those wontons look great! I miss Aria, need to return to them for a bit. Hope you find some drinks and wins!

 

Wow. @luck.ofthe.draw and I went over an hour at least with no drink service at Park MGM. Saw them, asked them, but never returned. My Aria craps table run was amazing, she was around every 5-10 minutes. Sadly I was only on Fiji at that time, but the others were happy.

And @ReTriggerMe , I think you have me wanting to head back to Din Tai Fung again!
