My coworker and I have a conference/awards in Nashville in June. We are staying downtown at the
Sheraton Grand. We need to find a place for dinner Monday night and lunch Tuesday. Can anyone give me some recommendations? Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Happy birthday to me!

Are you wanting to stay downtown or venture out? And what kind of food are you looking for?

Just walk down broadway and see what fancies you.

I feel like Hot Chicken (I like Hattie B's more than Princes) is on the list for any Nashville trip but not sure if you're cool with super greasy food during a work conference.

Bourbon Steak, The Chef and I, Paula Deens, The Patterson House, Bartaco are some of my favorites. Though not all of them are downtown

Though we live near there, no specific places to suggest. But, there are LOTS of options from there to the river.

The best meal we’ve had downtown was at The Farm House. Good southern inspired dishes and a nice cocktail list. Currently their hours are limited, not sure if there are plans to change that as things ramp back up. I fear a lot of the nicer spots might be closed at the beginning of the week with lower business travel levels.

@UKFanatic yes, we would prefer to stay downtown, dinner Monday is late and lunch is between the last session and a few hour break before cocktails and awards. I know we’d like BBQ at lunch and maybe something a little upscale for dinner.

Jack’s BBQ on Broadway is great. It looks like a tourist trap from the outside, but a pleasant surprise awaits you inside.

I have to agree with Jack’s BBQ for lunch although it’s good any time. Another good option is Daddy’s Dogs.

I haven’t been, but there is Skull’s Rainbow Room. Not sure if they have brought back the live music entertainment inside the venue yet.

For an upscale meal you may want to try Ellington’s.

No way! That location was one of our go-to meal spots in Nashville during the first few years of our marriage. The other was Texana Grill in Antioch, before that area hit the skids.

Thankfully the Demos' location in Hendersonville is still open.

You got married in the early seventies, lol. Seriously, there's nothing wrong with Antioch. I have friends that live down there. It is and always has been blue collar.

Yeah, the downtown Demos closed without notice. They were just closed one day with a sign in the window saying they would not reopen. I think they might still have a location in Murfreesboro, but not certain about that. When i used to work downtown, I would swing by there for lunch once a month or so

I say Antioch, but really the only area of it that I ever visited was the Hickory Hollow Mall area. That whole area was hot stuff before Shopryland and Amazon.

It's been a while, but we had a surprisingly good lunch at Kitchen Notes in the Omni last time I was in Nashville. Needed something close by and quick in between meetings.

Honestly, I don't think it's at all what you are looking for, but my most memorable meal in downtown Nashville was by far the fried bologna sandwich at Robert's Western World. I think it was a fried bologna sandwich, chips, and a PBR for something like $4. My mom still talks about that as her #1 reason for wanting to go back to Nashville.
