I've been going to Vegas for over 40 years and only have one—a Royal Flush at the bar in the old O'Shea's. It was the date of my second wedding—a beautiful ceremony in April at Red Rock as the sun set in the West. It was a perfect trip as I also had a giant exacta that weekend on the Santa Anita Derby—Point Given over Crafty CT. We had lobster dinner at the old Rosewood Grille. You would have thought that with such an auspicious beginning the marriage would have lasted. Not. A few years later we split.

But when the slot guy came with my thousand bucks I was in heaven. Of course, I'm not really much of a slot or VP player (horses, sports, blackjack and craps have always been my games) so it's really not that surprising that there's only one.

Never. Most I ever won was $800 on a nickel machine. And it was an accident. I was waiting for my spouse and thought I was betting max on a penny machine. Lol

Don’t look at “HandPay’s” as something to aspire to...
Aspire to hit a win that is 250x your bet, or more. ($1 bet, $250 win; $5 bet, $1250 win; and so on)
THAT is when you know you’re lucky.

I’ve hit one in Vegas and several at locals. The one in Vegas was very memorable. It was me and my hubby’s first time at Cosmo in 2018. We signed up for a card and got $5 free play. We went to a Buffalo gold wonder 4 machine (they were fairly new at that time). I played my $5 playing min bet- nothing. Husband then put his card in and played his $5-hit a bonus with super free games. Kept retriggering. Got all the Buffalo heads. Won $2900. On FREEPLAY!! Crazy!!

Nope not yet. Have hit two quarter royals for $1k each and a hand for $1022.50 total in Vegas. My opportunities are pretty limited though.

You mean those aren't considered hand pays? When I hit mine the guy came out with cash and I tipped him and the bartender. I guess I don't know what a hand pay is then. LOL

    I've had two

My first was at a NorCal local called Red Hawk... Beverly Hillbillies Millionaire Mile... it was at least 6-7 years ago
Finally got my first NV handpay last November at Cosmopolitan... Farmville

Two other memorable favs... $1000 even on Cirque du Soleil Koozia at a Norcal local - Graton, maybe four years ago

And just shy of handpay on Billions at Cosmo beginning of this month.

It's been ages, since I hit a hand-pay. I don't remember the exact date, but if I go back and review my old trip reports, I think the last one was at the Orleans several years ago when those Buffalo Stampede machines were being very nice to me. :)

I hit all those on machines that don't lock up at $1000+. Many VP machines only lock up at $1200+. Some quarter games will lock up at $1k, it depends on the casino. The two bartop hits, I still gave the bartender $20 though.

I have been going to vegas for over 40 years without a hand pay until last December when i hit one for $3800 at Planet Hollywood on a wonders 4 machine. I am a low roller so i guess i wasnt expecting one anyways. But since i got the first one i have had 3 more in the last 3 months so dont give up!! Hit one at MGM Northfield in Ohio for $2900 ..then one at Wheeling Island for $1700 and one more a couple weeks ago at Northfield again for $1900. ...Good Luck!

I have a spreadsheet with all of the hand pays I've won...easy to take care of...since it's ZERO. I think the most I've ever won was $250 on a quarter KENO machine playing one quarter..Typically I'm playing 100-play VP at 1 cent per hand.. Or a penny slot at maybe 25 cents a pull.. So it wouldn't be likely that I'd get a handpay..
I have won some decent Pai Gow Progressive pays but they were still under what would bring a minimum handpay on a machine (I think $950 was the highest I've been able to pull at Pai Gow; which I think was for a Royal with $3 bet on the Bonus along with the payout from the Progressive for $1).

200,000+ hands of video poker and no Royal or other major win worthy of a hand pay. Once I was playing at Venetian on one of the few remaining full pays, a dollar machine in the high limit room. The woman next to me hit two hand pays in less than an hour. She went to the rest room before the attendant showed for her second hand pay, and I commented on how lucky the woman had been. The attendant corrected me in a hurry. The woman had dropped several thousand that night before I got there, and was still well behind on the day.

So I'll take the beating the machines gave me that day, and be grateful I got most of it back at the blackjack tables.

We went to vegas for the first time in years last year, and my wife and I got a total of 3 handpays ($3k, $5k, $1k) in less than 12 hours time. We do $3-$9 pulls in slots. We thought that was cool, and we figured that it was normal. Because of that, we've been doing Vegas and local casinos a bunch of times since then. Not a single handpay since. Every visit has been a loss. Vegas did its magic on us. Oh... we're going in a couple of weeks... and pretty certain we're getting a handpay. I'll post a picture.

    Well in that case, zero.

I don't play much slots though. All of my big wins have been at table games and were the result of a streak rather than a single hit.

About 25 trips to Vegas and I have 2 and my SO has 0.
    Both were for $2,000.
If you have seen my trip reports you can see lots of MegaBucks getting played.

Would be curious as to what it cost per spin for the above because that $0.01 machine can cost more per spin than that $5 machine.
