Are you saying that single hands $1,200 or more with a small bet of $5? that would be the equivalent. If you just saying that you cashed in and got $1,200 or more back doesn't compare. Just trying top understand if it was a bit of levity or an actual comparison.

Or play $100 denom video poker with 5 coins. Your first three of a kind will be a hand pay.

Play at Terrible's Searchlight. Every pay is a handpay. They don't have TITO machines so you have to wait for the bartender to come over and pay off your winnings (or more often, losings)

I don't know why people are making such a big deal about handpays. I'd rather have five $1199 jackpots than one $5000 jackpot.

With the latest changes to the tax code, many people can't write them off.

The only hand pays I have ever gotten were on the old Lion's Share machine at MGM, but that was only because it didn't have TITO capabilities. Highest payout was $300.

I am not counting things like piddly hand pays at the airport and "Hopper empty, please call staff" or coin jams and the all pays hand pay that they had at the Trop for a while.

I have a spreadsheet at home that charts the 73 handpays that I've had since 2010.

37 were at the $0.01 denomination
3 were at the $0.02 denomination
2 were at the $0.05 denomination
2 were at the $0.25 denomination
15 were at the $1.00 denomination
14 were at the $5.00 denomination

The lowest bet level was $2.00, on a Hot 8 machine at Harrahs Lake Tahoe in 2016
The next lowest was $2.50 in 2015, on an Azure Dragon machine at Harrahs Reno.that machine paid the maximum payout regardless of bet level

However, take into account that I am pretty much a "max bet" all the time player, I have very little data for <$2.00 per spin.

Not saying that it can't be done . . . but you have to be EXTREMELY lucky and playing a machine that offers you >$1200 at your bet level.

Only one for me, $2k on DDB, 4 aces with the kick. If you really want one, try some $100 WoF! Guaranteed winner!

If the people who claim to be low rollers is true, then I am a micro-roller, the higgs-boson of gambling, I keep my bets less than $1 (except quarter VP) and my biggest ever win came on a $2 bet on a dollar machine and was for $600. My wife has better luck, but not really any bigger wins, her biggest was just over $900 at the Riviera back in the 90's before we met. She has matched my $600 win once on the megabucks machine. I don't want a hand pay unless it's over $10k.

BINGO. Heck, even 4 of those $1199 could result in. more money in your pocket than that one $5k

I've never had a hand-pay in the most painful way possible: I once hit a Royal Flush at El Cortez when I only had a quarter in the machine.

I've been chasing that elusive second RF--max coin of course—for 20 years now. Maybe this year will be the year!

I will add: on my last visit to Caesars AC in 2019, I hit Aces w/kicker back-to-back within 15 minutes of each other for $500 x 2—so at least I've had a $1000 day!

Twenty-two trips to Vegas, probably Thirty to Atlantic City, Twice to MGM Nat’l Harbor, this is the closest I have ever gotten. :grrr:

Thanks to my single, rich Uncle dying last summer (He was 96, he had a good run!) I am now in a position to not gamble with scared money; I mean it wasn’t the mortgage or car payments before this, but I certainly always felt a (self-imposed) obligation to my Husbands to not lose thousands upon thousands.

Now? Screw them! I paid for some very nice upgrades to the house, and put a nice chunk away for the future and for all the kids. The rest is ALL mine and I’m going on a bender the minute I can be in Vegas maskless!

I've had one. Trip before last at NYNY. 75cent spins on Walking Dead 2 and got Major x10 for about $2800. Trip before I got $900 odd on same bet / machine at Excalibur. Was way out of line with my stake :). Trip after the hand pay I didn't play WD at all as I was sure I had used up all my luck.

My normal bet is between 60c and $3.75. At those levels a handplay is not expected, 50x bonus is acceptable, 100 - 200x is great, anything more is fantastic.

I still remember my first time. It was in 2018 and it was the day after my birthday. I hit 32k on $9 max bet. It was in the middle of the night so I still couldn't believe that it hit.. didn't even realize. The next morning I was casually playing at a diff hotel and hit 11k on a $5 max bet. I think its all luck that I won 2 in less than 12 hours apart. LOL

Never had a Vegas hand pay. Play .25 DDB usually. I’ve hit 2 royals for hand pays at my local. But never in Vegas.

Just one, about 6 years ago at the Potawatomi in Milwaukee.

$3/spin Quick Hits, won just under $4k on the bonus round.

Boy, the lady next to me gave me the biggest stink eye. Ever.

If you gamble near the end of quarter the slots are more likely to hit as the casino is trying makes its number for the quarter. Or maybe that is car dealers :wink2:

:):pOnly one for me, $1500 on a Big Times Pay at our local, $ .50 bet. I very seldom bet more than that because for me it’s all about the entertainment.

Husband has had two, both at the D. The first one was on the original Heidi and I don’t remember the second one. Both were undoubtedly at least $ .75 /spin, because that’s just how he rolls. :p
