I’m still feeding the feral cat. I haven’t named her. Although I do call her Bubbles sometimes. I had a red tabby named bibles when I was a kid. Today I Called her “Bitchy Spice”. That was a nickname I had at my old hospital in my much younger years. Spice Girls were big at that time. Ungrateful coworker friends named me that. - I’m not sure why. Any way she has a routine. She waits by the hubs truck. I carry out the dry and a fancy feast. She is already waiting for me. Her first reaction - she hisses at me. Once I get out there she lets me pet her and she rubs against my leg. Only at feeding time am I allowed to pet her. Sometimes when she feels I am not quick enough she jumps on our fence or patio and stares at me through the kitchen window.
Augie Doggie. I miss the stinker. A few days after we made that last trip to the vet I got a very sweet sympathy card with nice messages from the vet and clinic staff. Yesterday I got a card from the Texas Veterinarian Association that they made a donation in his honor— made me cry. Love my vet.
I love Boston Terriers. My Aunt and Uncle has one when I was about the age of the cutie in your picture.
Hubs and I went to my sister's last night for dinner and dominoes. We have been a 4 person bubble since Covid began last March. When we come home, the dog - as usual - greeted us with low growls just to let us know how annoyed he was at being left alone for 4 hours. It's a routine we go through every time we are out. He growls at us when we come home and we give him a treat because we feel guilty. Then I checked my phone for messages. It turns out my daughter had come by and picked up the dog to go for an adventure. She had sent a photo to let us know she had taken him but I didn't check my phone till I was home. Darn him for pretending he was hard done by while we were out!! Whatever it takes for an extra treat.....
The brood of rescues. We took Cooper (the wonder beagle) in from a rescue in NY state about 3 years ago. He came in to our home after we had to put down our beloved beagle Zeus a year before. We tried to go without a dog, well that wasn't going to happen. About 2 years ago my daughter (who is an animal lover and a vet tech) rescued the cat (Musky) from an IDIOT acquaintance who moved and left it. The lab (big goof named Garth) came to us 1 year ago from the kennel at her school. Initially Cooper the a__hole that he is tried many times to eat Garth, but a year later they are the very best of friends. The pictures certainly show that. Now these 3 are in addition to be bearded dragon (rescue) and the hermit crabs plus a random frog we already have. If you can open your homes and open your heart to a rescue, PLEASE do. There are so many out there. Trust me when I tell you the question of 'who rescued who' has such a simplistic answer.
I was briefly looking in to getting another dog to replace Augie the wonder weenie dog because big sister was in a funk. I had asked my friends on facebook if they new anyone that had smaller dogs or puppies. I checked out the shelters around me -- no little dogs. So someone sent me a link to this site. So now when I go to VMB on the header/cookies I see all these puppy pictures. Which of course I have to click on the cute puppies. So my cookies remember the site and I constantly see puppies. I want this one -- but no way I can spend that much money -- sorry Abby.
