Hey dudes, I am back!

Feels like it's been way too long since I've been in my favorite city!!

It's been a helluva year and helluva month.

The sad: I lost a beloved pet fish
My best friend's cat is getting put down tomorrow
The bad: Work is insane.
The good: We hired a new guy, who is actually a rehire, so that's both good and bad. Someone to commiserate with.
My work contract got extended through this fall! More time to save and plot my next move.

(Ska is not all happy friends! Sometimes ska kids get sad too.)



So I wanted to visit our favorite city. Planning on coming back in a couple weeks when things are cheaper, but god, the anxiety and sadness over losing a pet, alongside the stress of work lately and lack of concerts, it's been tough.

Ready to relax and chill.

Man I hate LA, but at least we got this hot chick fronting a good ska punk band!


Seriously though I am ready to win! I hit my savings goal so far and have more money saved, in the bank, not touching, that I ever have. It's all up from here.

Expect food (& snacks, I skipped lunch today because my work meeting ran long so I am grumpyyyyy), slots, Poke'mon Go and adventures! And drinks!

And no matter where you are today, remember...

Ok I don't know why people bitch about VDara. I fuckin love it here! Really nice fixtures, comfy bed, bitchin tub, oh and they gave me a Bosch microwave. It's fabulous. Can I take it home?

Seriously though I'm in a base room, and this is just what I needed. Plus being away from a casino means, hopefully, less crazy people in the evening, and forced chill time at home.

Now, I require foods.

Have fun @luck.ofthe.draw! I had a quick weekend trip to Vegas with some friends 2 weeks ago and it was just what I needed to reset!

 

Fair. Not my first choice either, but was trying to find a Ska song to fit.

I'm realizing now how long it's been since I've been to a Ska show. Sigh.

Edit to add: OMG... I didn't even realize that Don't Let the Bastards... was the title of your Trip Report.... ha! I need to start paying more attention

Duuuude. I've been saying the same thing! I am in dire need of a ska show, and at this rate I'll take anyone.... but Streetlight Manifesto and Big D & the Kids Table are my favorites live. So so so fun.

I am loving VDara. I have a base room and it's super nice. The sink fixtures, appliance quality and soaking tub are top notch. It's a wonderful alternative to being attached to a casino, and it's a minute walk to Aria so not bad at all!

 

Was looking for pizza and found my cats.

I really like Vdara, do they still have the robots that deliver stuff to rooms?

Nice! Being in New England, I came to Ska through the Mighty Mighty Bosstones (kind of a right of passage around here) and 90's third wave Ska before I got introduced to some Two Tone, but I was too late to see any of that live. Got to see the Bosstones a bunch of times Pre "Clueless". But my favorite live shows were the Scofflaws I used to see at a couple of small bars when I was in college. But honestly, it's probably been 15 years since I've seen a show live, and don't even know who tours anymore.
