Looks like you had a great time. I would have also walked at Circa with after a couple choice words

Actually was a losing trip, too many in between losses of initial buy ins. Strictly play outside for 75-100, minimum pass line bet and double odds. A losing session can go pretty fast

I’ve never played craps but wondering how common that is about the craps dealers? I play a lot of blackjack and have never seen that! Anyways great pictures and a very nice concise TR.

You probably won’t hear it from other table games due to just one dealer, craps is a different story where you have four if you count the pit boss(?) They can be very condescending at times, GN would be another place I rarely go to. It’s just that Circa is new and you would think their service and professionalism would be at its best, if they continue to do that, you will not see too many Hawaii customers going there, they don’t complain about it, they just won’t go back!

Enjoyed this report with the pics, and observations and agree that it is turnoff when you run into a aggressive dealers. like you did. And like you said "Asians won't complain" ,they just will never come back !

Go in July or August and you'll have a good chance of a repeat. We played Boulder City muni once and got hit with a downpour just after the turn. We were soaked and thought about just going in, but figured it was hot so we continued. By the time we got to the clubhouse our clothes were dry!

There's not much upside to doing it and tons of downside to doing it. Dealers have to really know thier customer to know who they can do that with (and who they shouldn't) and even then, there is a chance that someone else gets offended in the cross-fire.

I've seen it happen a few times to others (and been the target of it once or twice.) The 2 main reasons that I can see are the staff using it as a line of defence against someone giving them a hard time (not particularly advisable) and just salty old dealers, unionised up to the eyeballs that are just eyeing up their rocking chair and dgaf. (think CP crew)

Lots of people in this covid-era are posting things like "pls tip the dealers extra during these tough times" and I was hoping that these tough times would bring out a bit of an attitude adjustment amongst some with a historic sense of entitlement to your money. Sadly, it looks like that isn't completely the case.

Forgot to mention one more thing -

Smoking- seen signs and enforcement at downtown first, no smoking at the tables, you must step back six feet to puff away.
Also, with the partitions and social distancing, no more lookie loos right behind the players, they must step back as well.

Did you have a problem making an appointment at MSS to get tested? Did you fly on Hawaiian? I wasn't sure if the MSS testing site was open to people not flying Hawaii so was just wondering and also wondering if they were busy with more people from Hawaii going to vegas.

Did you already get vaccinated? even though I went to vegas in December I will wait until I get the vaccine before going back to vegas. I noticed in December that on the FSE many people didn't mask up or mask properly or social distance. Same at the stores and other places in vegas so I won't go back until I'm vaccinated, too afraid of catching covid.

I don't mind the Cal being empty. Makes it easy for me to get on the crap table and if I don't like it I can always go elsewhere. Best of all Boyd is giving me 4 comped nights at the Cal, as long as they give me the comped nights I will stay there. Can't wait until MSS opens though.

I thought that the Circa was temp checking before entering the casino but I noticed that places like Fremont only gave temp check on the weekends and the busy days.

Downtown or the Strip, it doesn't matter.

Interesting about Circa crap dealers. I get a dealer who wants to let a beginner player (that has just joined the table) know that he can 'up' his odds bet. But that's really all that's needed...unless the player looks lost..then maybe a friendly reminder. No reason for the first dealer to get persnickety about it after that initial exchange. And the second dealer should really not even bring it up and try to alter an existing player's betting routine. If I'd of been drinking, it woulda been an attention grabber conversation. :)

Totally agree. I guess that I will take Circa off my craps list on my upcoming trip.

I flew on United, I was concerned up until the day of the test that they would refuse me but nothing happened, no checking of a Hawn flight or Boyd stay, they just checked ID, flight confirmation and email. My test was scheduled on a Friday and I was the only one there, got my results in 12 hours. I guess there is still a lot of Hawaiians that aren’t traveling yet and yes, I have had both of my shots. I would say about 20-30% weren’t masking up correctly or at all and forget about social distancing. I do get concerned more when the ones that are unmasked start yelling, those people I keep my distance from and I make sure to grab a new mask every time I head out of my room.
On another note. At the tables, the dealers at both downtown and strip made concerted efforts to have players mask up properly, remember, these dealers are just starting to get their first shots so they’re still very vulnerable to getting Covid. Some of the crew were really thankful because I gave them a heads up on their second shot being worse than the first as far as side effects.

Thanks for the info! I didn't know that anyone can get the test at MSS. I thought that only people flying Hawaiian could book the test.

Yeah, I still don't trust going to vegas until I get the vaccine. Too many people not masking up properly and social distancing. But many of the younger crowd are the ones not masking up. Guess they feel they are young and aren't as affected by covid.
