I have a host at Cosmo and the communication (response) seems to be spotty.

I emailed my host last Thursday (2/18) to confirm everything with couple of questions / food reservations and still haven’t heard back.

I sent a follow up email on (2/22) with no response.

my trip is tomorrow... what should I do?

I'd just call VIP services today.

Are you referring to the number behind the identity card?

Forgot last time I tried that, I couldn't find a number.

Think I called concierge and they put me through to someone.

I'd give them a call and worst case they should be able to put you through to someone who can fix you up, and they'll sort out your reservations for you.

There's normally a host on duty in the HL Slot room.

It's your host (such as the host said "from now on, book everything through me" and the host comped everything backend)
or it's a host whom you communicated with?
    There is big difference.

    Call

I'm u -hosted,still found that Cosmopolitan staff are friendly and helpful. I had a guy in Identity help alot, research things, call me back, etc. Same with other departments. I'd think that phone call will get you through to a host on duty.

Could be this maybe. I had a new Cosmo host reach out to me last month to introduce herself as my previous host was no longer with Cosmo. My old host was pretty awesome, I'm sad to see him go. I'm trying the new host out on this next trip.

Glad you heard back and your trip turned out well! What’s the general consensus on how long a host should return an email when asking about booking a trip?

IMHO, always get a confirmation number.

I request one and that way I can see my reservation on the Hotel/Casino website. At least that (kinda) ensures that I'll have a place to lay my head at night.

I have never had a host that has failed to provide me with one.

Watching ... as I'm brand new to having a host - anywhere. Now have a Cosmopolitan host. Not sure what protocol is.

The first trip or two (or three) working through your host, be on top of everything as though you were booking entirely on your own. Don't ask for the world on your first stay as a hosted guest/player. In fact, just see what the host can do for you relative to your standard offers. Get solid confirmations for everything. Pay close attention to responsiveness, or the lack thereof. Get to know as best as you can the days and hours on which your host is "in the office" so that you can know for sure when your host is going out of their way to work with you. Be forgiving, but not too forgiving. Communicate with effectiveness and efficiency when you have a trip coming up, but don't be too needy or high maintenance (before and especially during your trip) if your play isn't massive enough to warrant having the casino provide you with a host to be your personal handler. Be savvy, and leverage the powers and access that a host possesses for those things you can't do yourself.

It all depends on your play. For my recent trip my host was able to comp wrap around suite with connecting 1 bed room suite and another 1 bed room suite all with fountain view. This was comped upfront and at the backend I was able to get $2K comped when I left the trip.

my trip was for 4 days and 3 nights.

If it's a host assigned to you, by the end of their next working day. It's not online dating, it's their fucking job.

Just remember that a lot of hosts work weekends, so their off days can be in the middle of the week. My Cosmo host includes her hours and her off days as part of her email signature. I don't expect her to reply on her off days.

When she's on vacation, she sets up an automatic out of office message reply with the date she'll be back, like any normal business person would do. If I email her when she's on vacation, I don't expect a reply until a couple of days after she gets back.

That’s my expectation as a “business” relationship. Good to know I’m not expecting too much. Thx

I've only had a few hosts at a few properties but I've never had a problem with getting prompt replies. Maybe I'm just lucky, maybe it's because I'm a low-maintenance customer, I dunno.

Not all hosts are responsive. I had one that was generous & took care of everything but was a weak communicator. She was younger so she was better with texts than email.

I have another guy that is generous but horrible at email. He is younger than me but he likes doing everything over the phone (I avoid talking on the phone whenever possible).

I’ve recently had two new host experiences (1) super responsive & generous & (2) not too quick to respond but generous with her time (I talked with her on the phone about my play) & generous with her comps once we connected. I have been mlife platinum for many years & I always include my mlife # with my initial email. I had no previous connections to either host.

If your host is tight with comps, screws requests up & is non responsive, maybe it’s time to get a new host.
