Covid shot? Did they make you wait 15 minutes?

I posted pretty much a cut-paste of my "Covid Trip Report" on a local forum as well, and one of the others remarked that he was concerned that they did not make me wait 15 minutes, as recommended by the CDC.

A cow-orker also remarked, upon me telling my story, that he was not asked to wait 15 minutes at the Creighton University shot clinic downtown.

For those of you who had a Covid shot? Did they or did they not make you wait 15 minutes (or so) before releasing you? If so or if not, what type of a setting was it? A pharmacy? A medical center? A doctor's office? A pop-up shot clinic at a school, church, etc. or what?

For my shot, this was at a local "compounding pharmacy" and for my cohort, this was at a clinic operated by a medical school. As I think back, it was maybe 7 minutes or so, no longer than 10, from the poke to the drive-out of the parking lot.

    Thanks.

The VA asked me to wait for 15 minutes after my first shot. I imagine it'll be the same after my second. I've never seen a waiting room so full of happy people.

When I went with my stepdad for him to get his first shot, they tagged the car with a post it with the time we arrived then the time he got the shot. They held the cars for at least 15 minutes after a shot before letting you leave.

The reason for the wait is to see if you have an adverse reaction to the shot.

Yes, the standard is 15 minutes. If somebody did not wait, they either did not hear the instructions, or the person forgot to tell them.

Not a big deal - they only do this to make sure you do not have any bad reaction. No other reason.

Kim and I were asked to stay 30 minutes. We did for the first shot but left after 20 minutes for the second shot. They didn't seem to be monitoring how long we actually stayed.
This was at a local hospital in an area they used for classroom training.

15 min wait is standard, 30 min if you've had an anaphylactic reaction to any injection in the past. Protocol per CDC and vaccine manufacturers.

I got my Moderna at a medical clinic. They asked us to wait 15 minutes before leaving. I felt fine and nobody was timing it, so I left after 7 minutes.

Yes, I was asked to wait 15 minutes after my first shot to ensure that there were no serious side effects.

It was in a "car line", so I was asked to wait in the parking lot. I checked out with a nurse who was sitting there after 15 minutes.

I'm going today for my second and expect the same.

Both of mine at a hospital and two nurses monitored everyone and offered bottled water and a snack of some kind I declined..we were given a sticker with a 15 minute advance time.It well organized.
On the other hand my Sis and BIL got their first shots at a Wallmart in TN and no one checked on them during their 15 minute wait.

Yes. We sat in the Ridgeline listening to Spectrum and texting photos of our vaccination cards to friends and families. And close to the end we got on the Habit app and ordered burgers for curbside and then ate in a park. My kind of medical appointment.

I stayed for like 12 minutes and then felt like a weird gross loitering person and then I left.

Yes, the standard is to wait 15 minutes after receiving the shot. 30 minutes if you have an increased chance of adverse reaction to the vaccine. (i've received both doses and have volunteered at vaccination sites)

For both my wife and I, it was suggested by the Walgreens pharmacist that we stay for 15 minutes but we didn't have to. With my wife, we had some things to get and we were there about 10 minutes after the shot anyway.

For my shot, the pharmacist said that if I didn't stay, my wife should be aware of the nearest hospital just in case problems arose while we were in the car. We didn't stay at all after my shot.

First shot, they had me wait 15 minutes (I have a 'condition' with yellow-jacket venom).
Second shot, I told them the same thing about the yellow jackets, but they put me in the 30 minute area...Fortunately, the vaccine girl whispered to me, "Nobody's checking though, so if you leave after 15 minutes, nobody will care."
    ...and I did!

After my first poke on Monday, I was instructed to stay 30 minutes, which I did.
