Just a heads up just in case the WH across from the Beau is packed. There is another Waffle House a little to the East of the new Legends hotel. (that dark gray building next to the elevated Biloxi crossover) You have to be alert for it since it looks unlike just about any WH I have seen. It is elevated about 10 feet on stilts and is back from hwy 90 about 40 yards. It has everything you would expect and is walkable (IMO) from the Beau.

OOPS, I posted this after reading the quoted post above but before I read the rest of this thread. Sorry for the duplicate information.

Dinner at Stalla... @Ty says he recommends...

I was between two starters and my server Rob recommended the tuscan Shrimp and grits... There is at least a lb of butter in these grits, and the gulf shrimp and almost romesco like tomato sauce was omg great. (4.75 mangias...yes it's that good)

Tortolloni with shrimp.....sauce.. good...pasta.. good... Shrimp, basically just placed on top... seasoning sucked....I asked for parm.... didn't help...I sent this back...it just didn't work. It didn't go together at all. It wasn't cooked poorly from a health and safety standpoint..just a bad recipe....as much as I rave about good food....I do strive to be honest about stuff that...wasnt super.... My no means inedible, but not worthy of what the restaurant strives to be.

    (1/5 mangias)

"We only want tails on our shrimp to use for a handle if they're deep fried."

    Sincerely,
    The entire South

Disappointing to see tail-on in both dishes in MS, especially in any form of shrimp and grits where they should clearly know better. I still want some though.

I opted for the eggplant app as my replacement entree...it was quite good...(4 mangias). Let me double note that the dish I didn't care for was purely a bad recipe combo...not a reflection on food quality

BTW @MCann I have had tails on every shrimp in MS with the exception of the PoBoy at harrahs, and the bbq shrimp at Mag House....

Well besides that breakfast making me drool (other than the jalapenos - hubby likes those), that caprese salad looks awesome!

I'm glad you are ahead on the game. My trip was costly.

PS - the bathrooms at the Beau WH were actually very clean (I've been in some over the years that rivaled a bad truck stop gas station). I'd expect the stilts one would have to compete in the clean set-up!

PSS - my other half said Mississippi lifted mandate on masks today? (I didn't catch that - I only caught Texas). Curious if the casinos do also or if gaming commission keeps them in place.

If mask mandate goes away.... so do I..... but everyone must make their own choice and of course comply with local mandates. FWIW, they were still broadcasting and enforcing the mandate today in the casino.

I think MGM (and CET/Eldo) have their own mask mandates company-wide... at risk of getting a toe or two over a VMB line, I, uh, hope you aren’t put in circumstances that compel you to make an early departure :)
